literally, how cool! Now that's what I call smarter not harder. Hey, no sweat! Ha! I would most certainly do it that way Mike. It's always a pleasure watching machines being used correctly too. Your equipment will last for many years to come. I follow a wonderful farm family here in NC. They farm a lot of land and have a lot of equipment. I saw your bushhog and blade being stored on a pallet. The farmer just parks his attachments, they stay there till next season, and then they have so much growth all intertwined in them. Heck, it's hard to get to them to pull them out! In my mind, he could easily clear off an area, spray it and stone it. I mean he buys Round Up by the 55 gallon drums! Always a pleasure watching a man using his head and his equipment like you do. I love your Independence day fireworks display, someone singing our National Anthem and playing the, "American Anthem like you've never heard it before." Your channel celebration is more on point than most - it's about our country's independence from tyranny. May the citizens of America remember this and become more alert to what's going on in our capital today. Wake them up Mike! Thank's for giving us such good content, see ya on the next post! 👍🚜❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤

Mike not sure if you this but you can counter rotate that machine by moving your left steering lever to the far right or far left depending on which you would like to go. You will get couple of benefits if you'll use that feature.
When one track is moving forward and one backwards at the time you are not locking one track and sliding the other as you would normally do. That feature will save you from replacing your tracks sooner. Also this counter rotation helps keep you from tearing up the ground your track that is locked is causing because of the sliding .
One last thing, ride control on your track machine is a must.
It takes the stress off the machine and you when carrying a load.
Ride control allows the loader arms to "float" slightly taking the shock and stress off the machine and gives you a comfortable ride that usually does not allow any jarring on you. Your machine can also be retrofitted if it does not have.
The reason I know these things is because I used to be an operator and then sold heavy equipment which required me to train the operators on proper maintenance and safe operation. We were also to my knowledge the first to install and try ride control on a track skid-steer back in the early 2003 days. We couldn't believe the difference and neither could the factory representative from Takeuchi !
Made history since then and now it is a factor option or dealer install ! Check it Mike you won't regret either one..
Good operating... Love watching your videos and life progress.

You are costing me a fortune Mike! Since starting to watch your channel about 18 months ago we have continued to expand our firewood side project and after watching you use the skid loader, we are seriously thinking about getting a 75HP model, one size smaller than yours. You cant buy a half decent second hand machine here in Australia for less than AU$55,000 at the moment so a new one at around AU$75 is looking like a good option.

@@seanworkman431 we are in central Victoria near Beaufort. We have 3000 acres of undulating farming land that is mostly Redgum country running up into the hills on the Great Dividing Range where the timber changes to box, stringy bark and mesmate. We cut and split mostly windfall Redgum. We cut, split and sell about 100 metres a year, mostly locally in ISO shuttle crates; similar to what Mike & Melissa do but we only cut 2 x 2 rungs out on one site as we loose stack the split wood. We use a Superaxw W4150 with an elevator and split straight into the crates. I use husquvanah’s, I run an XP394 & XP395 with 28” bars, and an XP3120 with a 36” bar. I run semi chisel .404 chain on all. We use our 395C Cat excavator with a grab, and a couple of our farm tractors with loaders to handle the wood. I prefer to bring 10-12’ logs to the splitter, these vary in diameter from 18” to 50”. 2 foot blocks cut off a 50” Redgum log fills a crate, but we have to lift them onto the splitter with the excavator and grab. To big to manage by hand, 300-400kg each!

    Forgot about the splitfire attachment.
Pretty neat watching you place the rounds then split them with that attachment .makes it much easier that breaking yours or mellisas backs lifting on those monsters.
You definitely know how to save the body and use the machines to do as much of the work as you possibly can .

I had mentioned maybe if they were all laid out where you could just grab without repositioning each one out would save time. After watching this I think at the very least it likely is about the same amount time or saves a bit but it certainly saves your back and a lot of sweat doing it this way.
