So, so happy for you, Hank and Mason. Guess we'll just have to see what will happen to the 4th one but so far, 3 beautiful babies to be new friends for Hank. Very well done!
From what I can tell 3 out of 4 is a pretty good batting average for sure. Sadly number 4 just doesn't seem to be doing anything. I doubt if I can bare to open the egg, but my son says he'll do it - we're going to give her another week in the incubator just to be sure and then we'll have a look.
Oh my goodness. Thank you for sharing. Yes sometimes you have to help the little guys out. I'm so happy for you. I hope number 3 is one of those fashionably late to the party type of birds.
His egg and his little self are a little smaller than the rest and he's a little more fall down prone still at this point, but that's to be expected I think - he's the baby brother or sister. They are already manifesting different personality traits - going to be very interesting to see them all grow up. They are so cute at this stage.
@@hanks_backyard YAY number 3 made it. Aww poor baby. I'm sure he'll grow stronger. I think that's the fun of a flock. Seeing the different personalities. I've ordered chicken hatching eggs for my first time. I have a broody hen so I will try it that way. I am nervous about it. Got them on ebay. Should come tomorrow.
I've been thinking about that - Hank is a little weird to be honest. He pretty much thinks he's a human so I'm debating on how much pampering and cuddling to do with these guys. Maybe with three I can get the best of both worlds and have the emu cuddles but allow them to bond with each other as well. Time will tell.
So cool. I have 4 eggs in my small incubator. Today is day 48 but not even a movement so I don’t feel good about this. 😢 I am already attached to the eggs. LOL If they don’t hatch I’m going to have to go to rehab. LOL Thanks for sharing & wish us luck.
I'm working on my third hatching and I'm exactly the same - it's nerve racking for sure. A few of mine haven't had any movement until a couple of days before hatch so that's not necessarily bad. Good luck on those - please report back what happens.
I don't but there are some emu groups on Facebook where you can locate eggs. Also @morninggloryranchTexas sells baby emus and possibly eggs - she is in Dallas.

Don't forget, as with Hank, the chicks are going to require concierge service! 🥰
