    What is the big deal about cutting off the ball joint stud off below the nut?. Then use a smaller spacer which will reduce fender well interference.

    • @datboi8140
      @datboi8140 6 місяців тому +2

      it would hit the nut, not the bolt. you also need at least 3 threads sticking out, so either way it wouldn't work. youd need modified uprights to avoid this, but even then you're gonna have to clearance the front so you don't rub when turning. imo 37s isn't a reasonable upgrade, you already have more ground clearance than any ICE truck since there isn't a diff sticking out.

    • @TSportline
      @TSportline  6 місяців тому +1

      The fender interference doesn’t improve enough. But you could cut the ball joint stud. The tire sidewall will hit the upright - still needs spaced out.

    • @danielralston2091
      @danielralston2091 6 місяців тому

      @@TSportline The fender interference will improve with more positive offset. Note that the outside of the tire is what's hitting, move it in. Also moving the wheel out that far can't be good for the bearings. That stud is only needed for assembly. Just replace the ball joint if you ever have to disassemble in the future. Full compression is usually where you see the worst rubbing so unless you're making a mall crawler you'll need to check that too.

    • @MrBigPipesYT
      @MrBigPipesYT 6 місяців тому

      I was thinking the same thing, but worried it could mess with the cameras/sensors/whatever is on the other side of the plastic. Worth a shot if someone doesn't mind potentially trashing their brand new Cybertruck.
      Smaller wheels would work too, but the rim has to be 20" to clear the brakes. I wonder if other Tesla models brakes would link up.
      Making it tricky to mod bigger tires opens up possibility for Tesla to release an off-road model too.

    You would probably have issues with the upper ball joints over wear and tare as it was not designed for that big of tires, let alone if you did not adjust the bump stops you would be bottoming out probably destroy the inner fender well. Running spacers in the front as well is a disaster waiting to happen. That thing puts out a lot of torque and can bet it would cause some problems.

    @briansaunders4745 6 місяців тому

    You can cut off the end of the upper A-Arm spindle bolt. That bolt end is of no benefit to the structural rigidity of the bolt. It is only there so that you can put a wrench on it to keep the bolt from spinning when removing the nut.

    The additional weight and geometry changes caused by 37s can result in suspension part failure at multiple points. Hubs, bearings, brakes, arms, actuators, joints/knuckles. If any one of those wasn't over-designed to handle the additional strain you could be looking at a bag full of problems after a few thousand miles (or much much less).
