so i've never been to scarefest before and not been to alton towers in 12 years, but am going on the 28th of october. so excited!!
can i ask you please, are the 4 scare attractions normally set indoors? i was going to book a time-slot at night so that it was dark for the scare mazes, but i realised i don't want to forfeit time on the rides in the dark! and i just thought if the mazes are indoors it won't matter if it's light outside.
also do you think the fast pass is worth it? it's expensive but we're from scotland and only going for 1 day.
    cheers!!👻🎃💀

Hey, thank you so much for watching!
Yes all mazes featured this year are set indoors, however doing them later in the day can mean you will end up queuing longer as everyone tends to do them after darkness falls.
With traveling such a long distance it would be a real shame to miss out on experiencing the main rides and queues can be quite lengthy, therefore fast pass in this instance may well be very beneficial :-)
We hope this helps and that you have a fantastic visit this October!

i feel like whatever they do some people wont be happy, yes they have the same mazes returning, but there are now 7 strong scare attractions, with a new scare zone, escape thingy, and reimagined mine tours. its still not the best, but its a step in the right track. hopefully invitation can be modified a bit and terror of the towers has been 'rethemed' loads of times, so tinys revenge might be more different then we expect. But the one thing that is also quite bad, like you said, the price. honestly they should cut down on invitation, stick with 3 great mazes, then have some scare zones and shows, and keep trick o treat town, but lower the price. then it would be good value for money.

Can I buy a scare maze ticket for only one maze or do I have to buy all of them together for 27 ?

We believe that option is also available too yes, however we're not 100% on the pricing 👍🏻

So honestly for me its a real mixed bag. Personally theres a part of me thats thrilled to see we are getting new stuff and in a year where there is clearly a lot of issues regarding money with AT (obviously we've had the investment of two new dark rides, a refurb of an attraction, a new indoor coaster and then recently the finance that will be spent to refurb two classic rides). But that being said there is a part that is still disappointed and there are many reasons behind this:
    1) Lack of care and attention - I'm sorry to say it but to me this feels like a very reactionary Scarefest. Now what I mean is this. Last year obviously there were loads of reviews that came out saying that the event was poor, overpriced, stale and many other negative things. So when they had Scarefest this year they had an opportunity to really change up the event and really think on how they were going to make it the peak halloween event that it once was. Now granted I think because of the poor reviews they have changed it up but in the wrong way by having bare minimum changes to the event (I mean I'm sorry but there's no way you're telling me they have completely redone the whole AMT maze when it clearly has just been rebranded because they have the theming but they are afraid having the Skin Snatchers tagline) and creating things that clearly people will only do the once and never do again. And whilst I recognise they really are on a budget that does not excuse originality (I mean look at TP - They are on a tight budget with Exodus and yet FN seems to be yet again another exciting year) so unfortunately it does not fill me with lots of hope.
    2) Pricing - So being a person who cares about getting a good deal I decided to do some pricing up assuming I was going to attend the event and based it on (hypothetically) how much it would cost for me to attend Scarefest having paid for entry (not a MAP holder so thats why I accounted this) and to do all of the added extras. To give reference for this the average price online for entry is £39 but to do all of the scare attractions (including Trick or Treat, ATD and the Daz attraction) it is £65 which means it would cost me £104 to attend which I think is a shocking price. Now I am not someone who I would say is poor but the fact that its going to cost me that much (including to do some attractions the once) is abhorrent and the thing is I dread to think how much it will cost if a group of 4 wanted to do that (£416 to be precise) (N.B this also excludes things as well such as petrol costs, parking charges and also pricing for buying food in the park). I honestly do think with these prices its going to outprice people from doing the attractions and whilst I know I did go to an extreme I think the issue is if they want people to come they need to reduce the prices significantly as that is shocking prices).
    3) No sense of making it an event - I think its safe to say that we've all seen that even when sometimes park are tied to a tight budget, with the recent marketing success TP has had for FN its shown how the right people can make an event exciting. And this is the main problem - everything was dropped at the same time and there was no excitement. It seemed like the only thing they cared about is the Daz scare experience (and even then I wonder if they are going to do a good job of it given it seems like a one off experience - there's no way its going to be redoable since the whole point is its an escape room) but even then the rest of the stuff was just mentioned without any form of gravitas. There was no big reveal about the fact that AT is having scare zones return, there was no excitement about the mazes and there's nothing to get you excited about the event aside from the fact that its a different line up. I mean personally I am gobsmacked they didn't do a Nemesis themed attraction to get people excited about the retrack because this is their last chance to promote it before it opens so why not do it now? Its just such a missed opportunity and what is clear to me is that the events at AT do not matter (which makes me wonder what all the fuss was about in getting the other events part of the line up if AT is not going to care about doing a good job).
Honestly I will have an open mind and see what happens with this but this is so disappointing in my opinion. I was hoping the park would really have listened and thought about what the problems are and its so clear that they haven't even considered it.
