damn for $300 every person I know would have at least two of these
It is a killer price.2xin leg holsters instead of an MP7.
I'll pack this on my lunch box every day
@@notchipotle Who knows how the barbecue sauce affects this firearm?
In Canada we have the Dominion Arms Grizzly and Kodiak shorty shotguns - 8.5" barrels and offered in tube magazine and box fed MKA 1919 style magazine which means it can take the 5rd.. 10rd.. 19rd.. and drum magazines. They even come in a marine coat finish and a drop leg holster is available for them too.
The tube fed magazine option holds 3 + 1 and the receivers on the Grizzly come pre drilled and tapped while the Kodiak receivers have the dovetail grooves.
They chamber 2 3/4" and 3" and are smooth bore barrels - not threaded for chokes - and the Grizzly series are Chinese made Rem870 clones while the Kodiak series are Turkish made and are a bit better quality than the Chinese.
Being the rules are very different in Canada.. buying one of these is no different than buying a regular shotgun.. no tax stamp.. no waiting.. and it is classified as non-restricted meaning you can buy it and walk out the store with it.
Personally I own 2 of the 8.5" Dominion Arms Kodiaks - one tube fed in black and one mag fed in Marine coat finish with the drop leg holster.
You could easily change out the stocks on these shotguns and install a folding stock or pistol grip or even a shockwave style birds head raptor grip.. but Canadian law says that they have to remain in the factory stock to maintain the 26" overall length or else they become a non-restricted firearm and then MUST be registered.
There are many videos here on UA-cam of the 8.5" DA Grizzly.. but you wont see many of the DA Kodiak as they seem to be much more rare.. so Im glad that I grabbed 2 of them when I did - they are now impossible to get in Canada now and I highly doubt any more will ever be produced.
Canadians and their short barreled shotgun laws are about the ONLY thing Americans should be jealous of.. as all the rest of the ridiculous firearm laws in Canada totally suck.
@@dreadnaughttactical Thank you. What for do you find 8.5inch shot guns useful in Canada?
I liked the salesman. When asked if the magazine is expensive, he said it is, not sugarcoating it. Not the most well prepared, but not just sugarcoating stuff to sell it.
He is probably well prepared and chances are that he speak 2 - 4 languages as well. The thing is that we can't expect everybody to speak english as their primary or secondary language.
Ho do you came to the idea he was not prepared? Maybe its just european to be more honest and not sugarcoating things!
Beats “oh it’s affordable.” Being like 50 bucks+ a mag
@@Gieszkanne Some questions he struggled a bit, but as I said, I liked him and his honesty. Just some hiccups (honestly could be just because of speaking a foreign language).
@@MigorRortis 🤣 I've literally been in a argument, someone was say $2,300 was affordable.
These gun conventions in Europe are torture to us Americans, knowing that it'll take them years to make these weapons available to us, if our states don't start putting magazine restrictions and shark fins on our pistol grips by then.
literally just build a mossberg 590m as a pistol and itll be better than this chinesium piece of junk
Copy the concepts and make them yourself
There is a manufacturer in the US who will have a working prototype of this gun in 2023.
@@smokingcrab2290 Not everyone on this channel is a full fledged gunsmith. A lot of us are enthusiasts of some kind.
now you know how it is for europeans to watch US shows lol
Interesting idea, the main problem with those master keys was always the lack of capacity. External mag fixes that issue.
Especially if you get a double stack 12. gauge box mag like what moss berg was trying a few years back...
The mag tube is canceled out for the detachable mags on these type of shotguns. If they could figure out a way to carry 5 in the tube and 5 in the mag it would be revolutionary
Already been done, look up M26 MASS
Small drum mag would make this great!
@@Heisenbrick No, when it comes to 12 gauge you're better off with box mags. Remember, you're essentially dealing with a rimmed cartridge so loading them into a drum mag creates logistical problems with the design. It can be done, but it's far more difficult and expensive. Not to mention the fact that drum mags are just more complicated in general, and there for less reliable than box mags. Also, it's way easier and less cumbersome to carry multiple box mags on your person than drum. There's also the issue of this pistols dimensions and length which look as though it would be kind of hard to operate the pump with a drum in the middle, but I'm only guessing on that part.
That’s the kind of gun that a 80’s movie hero would dual wield, pump action and all… 😅
Chuck Norris can work both pumps simultaneously with his beard and he'll never run out of ammo
💯
Yeah, I could see the 'hero' installing one of those cheesy looking D-shaped pump handles on one of them (like in From Dusk 'Til Dawn) and the 'hero' could insert the other shotgun through the handle and wield and fire them like a cross; simultaneously for a few scenes.
Hell Yeah
Looks just like Ricardo Tubbs Serbu Super Shorty from Miami Vice
Thats pretty sweet.
If it's a true 870 clone I would definitely replace as many small parts as possible first.
No need to, actual cinese production is superior to Remington parts.
@kilgor5793 I would not say horrible. Peoplle both here and overseas claim it works.
Main differrnces are a forged steel receiver amd some grittiness here and there. Nothing that can't be solved by use. Even the trigger housing is metal, while Remington has been using plastic for a while.
@Kilgor bullshit. It's well known that the IAC Hawk\ Chinese copies are better than the newer American made 870s.
@@TheHiddenPart The only thing I have ever heard that goes in that direction was, that the SigSauer 226 clone from Norinco had better steel quality. But this doesnt mean that the actual machining/manufacturing is better. Not at all.
That 💩 will probably explode anyway🤷
we all knows why James knows what 23cm is in inches on the fly
2.5 cm per inch
25,4mm per inch.
It's like ballparking meters to feet by just multiplying by three. Sure, dividing feet by three gives yards and that's one tenth shorter than a meter, but that's an extra layer of math.
@@Tounushi Dividing feet by three gives you yards? I understand that the regard system is confusing to us civilized people, but damn.
@@arcuz7862 300 feet = 100 yards = 90 meters.
@@Tounushi Why not just multiply by 0.303 or by 0.909. We usually convert feet/inches to cm and yards to meters directly, our advanced nonmurican brains can do that.
SDM also makes 5/600€ AKs and ARs with pure chinesium quality. A friend of mines changes them every competition season because it cheaper than taking care of them and you can use corrosive ammo without feel guilty
It would be even cheaper still to, you know, buy a quality AK that would last more than a couple seasons.
@@InvidiousIgnoramus considering that on the used market they still are around 400-450€ mark you don't loose that much, he transfers all the accessories
@@InvidiousIgnoramus Corrosive ammo is pretty freakin cheap
@@InvidiousIgnoramus we have them. We have more than you Imagine.
I do have one. Video is on my channel.
The spokesperson for Prima Armi doesn't know or care but mags and inteenals are interchangeable with Hawk clones and Canadian Grizzly models. They're literally the same product and readily available.
Quality wise, the base model with side folding stock and 18" barrel has been spotted in chinese police hands during lockdown.
Shooting it is a handful. Swapping the 80s era pistol grip for a Birdshead grip such as a Raptor deletes half the felt recoil, yet you got to use it ANGRILY. It's a man's gun. And it breathes THUNDER and FIRE.
If being given the choice I'd gone for a Serbu Super Shorty replica, the box mag is just silly.
That mic drop was so legit aaaaah I feel for you brother.
We had these norinco in Canada for years! I call them thumb blasters. They use to sell for $400, mags around 35$
That's crazy. Same price as a 1911 in the states.
@@SkylorBeck lmao what
@@MigorRortis Rock Island 1911A1 is about $400 USD.
@@SkylorBeck that’s one of the shittiest 1911s on the market. An average 1911 is more like $800-$1500 for “normal” production 1911s.
@@enzoswoodshop1052 I didn't say a "good 1911". A bad gun is still a gun. All guns kill people.
Can't wait to get a drop leg holster for it
Super happy they have that adjustable rear sight. You never know when you may need to rain down on that 300 yarder!
Thank you for your service
asking the right questions, right on man!
This would make a great Mother's Day present.
Mossberg better write this down for a new 590 variant.
This weapon in 20 guage would be more manageable and still be good home defense in a buckshot load . might even give you 1-2 more rds in the magazine .plus it would be a good snake charmer in rattle snake country
The mic drop was pure gold!!!! 🤙
In Austria pump guns are not allowed either. That often makes me sad as a citizen of Austria , but semi-automatics are allowed.
Life is good
Not only is it a pump action, but it's also way too short for Austria. 😭
@@ShootAUT So true.
Oh James is just effing drooling on this thing, you know he wants to run 500 rounds of the heaviest buck shot through it in under 30 min. Why do you think he asked about the mags?? 😂😂 .
looks like a good solid breaching shotgun
The kickback gotta be insane , it’s 🔥tho
Master Key Material right there!
That clip fed shotgun is why I told a dude on Honest Outlaws channel why I would make a triple barrel shotgun a sawed off, today a brand new gun is quite expensive, a decade it could be cheaper or discontinued, but in all certainty a new model "future" weapon will render old model's outdated.
About time someone did this
Now that lil beauty looks like a ton of fun 👍🏼
I had a Laramie brand pump squirt gun just like this in the late 80's. Well not just like it, it had a wicked neon green and orange paint job.
9” that’s massive absolutely way longer then anything anyone could ever have or need a average 3-4” is more then enough for anyone to handle honestly that’s even to much length
I've heard the exact same... Undeniable FACTS 💯 😁
Well ya can always hold it an only use a few inches
But you'll still get made fun of if you have less than 9"
i love that. box mag pump shotties dont make a ton of sense to me typically because you still have the shell tube there just doing nothing, here however that mag is holding far more than the tiny little tube ever could. sick af little shorty
faster reload and weight is distributed closer to the middle
>chinesium
-5
>proprietary mags
-1
>no higher capacity mags, 5rds is all you get
-1
>each mag costs $60
-10
who is this marketed towards
Euro police
as a compact breacher for police and for home defense for citizens as its considered a pistol and thus easier to get
Recreational shooters
Muricans
@@Genesis23OPB Magnesium? Are you trying to burn the door down?
My wrist hurts looking at this.
We need more minishells in production and we need more mags and adapters to use them. The minishells concept needs to be adopted more.
A great interesting video and shotgun. This shorty is great for tucking in a shorts along with some eggs and noodles and olive oil.
Love to see this with a conversion to the birds head grip. Also at this point why not make a pump from scratch that doesn't incorporate a tube you dont need with a heat shield. . .

I can't wait to add loops on the pump so I can dual wield them!
I would buy in a heartbeat!
Looks fun. Those are a definite "pay to play" item. My buddy has a Serbu Super Shorty that's lots of fun. You'd be surprised how much fun you can have with 3 rounds. 😁
Their website says only 300 euros
@@ahomicidaltaco well that's good then. 👍🏻
Cool looking shotgun.
James, you are such a skillful interviewer. It’s very impressive.
You're fucking joking right?
@@jasonweiss2773 why do you ask?
That mic drop was hilarious!!
That would be perfect for a car/truck/home shotgun... I'm happy w/ my Rock Island shotgun mag fed w/ ghost sights...
Hurricane Butterfly brought these in to the US as the Typhoon 12. They had them as AOW or SBS. It's the Hawk Type 97-1.
SDM (basically, like Norinco, a bunch of Chinese factories distributing under one brand name) make decent stuff.
Their AKs are not the prettiest, but they work, are cheap and durable. They also make that 1887 clone.
Shotgun handgun is crazy❤❤❤
I have a long version SDM m870 and i am very satisfied. I only have it for defense. Resilience fascinates me. I need real tools 😉
Looks like a rebranded, shortened hawk 981/982 with a magazine adapter added.
That's sick af
Demonstrated Concepts would love this.
I want to see something on that 1887 looking-a-like gun.
Sweet as hell dude
That looks cool
The ultimate "get off me" ankle gun!
A great neat interesting video and shotguns Mr.James.This is not how I imagine chop sticks. Do you prefer this SDM Remington nock off or the Mossberg Nightstick?Make a video about it. Is this short shotgun made of steel or aluminum? Is it like "the kom pao chicken made of a cat?"Have a good one.
DAMN, that looks cool !
Wow! I want three of those so bad!
Well that sucks the interview started off good and then we find out we can't get it, great job guys...
Didn't Ian do a review on this for Pistols of the Warlords 😂
I'm buying it. With folding stock it's going be nice little shotgun
Very cool!
Beautiful
This is old hat brother. It's been out for a long assed time up here in Canada and the folks at Dlask Canada make a right badass version.. Originally called the Dominion Arms Grizzly 8.5 (A China special). Comes in a tube fed 2+1 or a mag fed 5+1.
Maybe Harbor Freight will eventually get into the firearms business.
That would be epic!
@@oni_goroshi Chicago pneumatic “typewriter”
This is so beautiful! I wish 🇺🇸 had these 😫
These gunshows outside of the US shows how "freedom" is defined
Oh no, we don't have access to sporterized chinesium knock-offs.
That sucks.
Brothers, the bolt pistol has arrived
i would love one of those but purpose built for shorty shells
Looks spicy AF!
I got a mossberg compact cruiser aow that’s 2+1. That’s sweet
could you put guide rails alongside the barrel and mount the pump directly to the barrel?
I am French and shotguns are authorized for sports shooters with and without stripes. The length of the barrel can pose problems for us, I'm not too sure about it.
Ah James always showing us the forbidden fruit!!! Damn you speedo man James!!!! Btw everyone knows James to be a proud Speedo man.
20+ round drum mag would make this a staple. You'd become a walking claymore carrying this thing lol.
From France : pump action shotguns with a smooth bore are not harder to get than a semi auto rifle. It just takes time (6 months of practice in a shooting sport association) and paperwork to have one. The rifled bore pump action shotguns of 4+1 capacity are available for any hunter or any one who subscribed to a shooting sport association (without the papework).
Shouldn't need any of that nonsense to own them
That would be awesome in 45/410 as a pistol.
Das looks awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍
You should go over there and do a review of that gun.
What a tease
Nice
Looks fun I would buy one.
Those sights......thanks for the giggle. LOL
Thats sickkkk
Would make as a great master key attachment on an AR/M4
That’s a dream gun I didn’t even know existed.
I use to have something similar to this but mine didn't have a magazine. I can't remember the name of it but it was well over 10 years ago.
The what??
I love it 😊
I love it, I want it & I'll print my own extended mags
Nice little shotty
Can't wait to see it at forgotten weapons channel
Thats f'n cool!
🇺🇸
Ole wrist tweeter right there. If you ever shot a SBS that short in 3" mag they're not so fun LOL
need this in US .... perfect for home defense
Imagine you could be put a brace on one. It'd be hand full but fun
I was surprised when James dropped the mic in reaction to the 299 Euros price. When this shotgun reaches our shores. It may even be less expensive than the European price since guns from China are affordable here. The pistols sold here by Norinco are of good quality
It looks shorter than 26 inches, so you can tack on at least an extra $200 I would think.
This gun (in this configuration) is unlikely to ever reach the US.
@@DH-xw6jp TFBTV left a comment on here about a US manufacturer putting these together. If that happened, then maybe... but it would be a lot more than $300.
Would you be willing to make a Playlist of this year's IWA that's all the videos that feature products available for purchase for American viewers? They're all interesting to watch, but it would be a nice thing to add to the channel.
Nice home defence Popper...!
He used centimeters! Numbers that finally make sense! 🙀
