Power Hungry Mall cops respond to Open Carry!

- So as per the usual I open carry my rifle which is legal under Georgia State law. Referring to OCGA 16-11-126 (b) where the law has no statement regarding public or private property, and no other law exists as to limit these actions further.
So, I roll up to the mall on a long-board, notice a sign that say "no weapons on premises" and figure they are ignorant of the law but do not enter either way. (Refer to OCGA 16-11-125.1(4) & (5) where a long gun does not fit the definition of a "weapon") When I turn to leave my cousin walks towards the smokers area, so I proceed to follow him away from the entrance to the building...
Then very quickly Paul Bart and his groupies surround me and will not let me leave, asking me question not even the police have no right to ask at this point including asking me for my ID, School, and my age!
needless to say, I asked multiple times if I was being asked to leave, and actually requested that I leave myself and they proceed to dodge my requests and continue to argue, call me an idiot and homosexual, and say I'm ignorant of the law when I'm citing OCGA code on the spot...
So guys, remember next time you go to Abor Place mall in Douglasville, GA remember that these idiots are there to protect you, with there attitudes and mall policy...
I would also like to bring to attention that I was told they would get my ID, and private information, as well I was threatened with arrest by 2 of the individuals from ERMC security... Which would easily sit into a violation of OCGA code 16-10-23 Impersonating a police officer. He has violated this code by threatening me with arrest with an intent in misleading me to believe that UNARMED mall security has arrest power, not only that it was for cussing. Basically I hurt his feeling by using language to express my own. What happened to the first amendment?!?

(4) "Long gun" means a firearm with a barrel length of at least 18 inches and overall length of at least 26 inches designed or made and intended to be fired from the shoulder and designed or made to use the energy of the explosive in a fixed:

(b) Any person who is not prohibited by law from possessing a handgun or long gun may have or carry on his or her person a long gun without a valid weapons carry license, provided that if the long gun is loaded, it shall only be carried in an open and fully exposed manner.

A person who falsely holds himself out as a peace officer or other public officer or employee with intent to mislead another into believing that he is actually such officer commits the offense of impersonating an officer and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000.00 or by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than five years, or both.
O.C.G.A. § 16-7-21. Criminal trespass
(b) A person commits the offense of criminal trespass when he or she knowingly and without authority:
(3) Remains upon the land or premises of another person or within the vehicle, railroad car, aircraft, or watercraft of another person after receiving notice from the owner, rightful occupant, or, upon proper identification, an authorized representative of the owner or rightful occupant to depart.

=====ADDED INFORMATION=====
To clarify any and all issues:
1. I made a choice to stand my ground and continue to verbally debate laws due to my perceived threat of attack from the guards.(threat perceived ~2:53 when he turns directly towards me and moves even closer, threat of attack was still possible up until Douglasville PD arrived.)
2.When I received a direct waring that I was being trespassed my first question to the Douglasville PD officer was "can you give me an escort?"(~9:10)
3. I would have left but was not given the physical opportunity given the environment around me.(Notice at 11:15 I am trying to leave the moment an opportunity arrives.)
4. Referring to OCGA 16-7-21 (b) (3) code section added to description I received my warning from the assumed proper authority, and was leaving so I could not be charged with a violation of said code section. Had I refused to leave, I would then be in violation and subject to ID and arrest.
so to put it simple, I had no desire at that time for a pro-longed verbal debate, but I feel it was the best course for this to take given the situation.

Mall security looked and sounded about as intimidating as a 2-legged dog with no teeth. The cop was very professional though. He de-escalated the situation to a conversation and an understanding. Obviously someone who takes his job seriously and performs at a high level. Hell, he even walked into the situation and quietly observed what was going on before making his presence known. That my friends is a seasoned officer who doesn't allow his ego to dictate his performance..

Things have changed over the years. More recent contracts have security officers only patrolling common areas of malls and they aren't allowed in stores unless the store requests their presence.
Each store is responsible for having their own loss prevention team. If they want frequent visits, the mall usually charges them extra.
So can't bash security on that one. The mall makes a contract with the security company and then officers do what they're instructed per the contract.
Btw, usually they have cameras throughout the mall and there are 1-2 security officers watching footage and communicating with other security on patrol or on the phone with police. Just because you don't see someone doesn't mean they aren't watching.

That’s incorrect. Mall security act in agency of the property owners which means they have arrest powers that customers do not. They can perform a citizens arrest for trespassing, a teenage girl cannot. When you’re on private property, you are not on equal footing with the property owners or the agents they hire to enforce their rules.

This is stupid... When I was growing up Sept 1 every year you could walk through the high school parking lat and see a shotgun hanging in the back window of almost every Truck. In November those Shotguns turned to Rifles, and it was that way until hunting season was over. Then those guns were replaced with fishing poles. No one was ever shot! The teacher lined them up on the wall behind her desk and taught class like any other day. I carried because the state has a law concerning Carry of handguns that requires a permit. I believe the 2nd amendment over rules that and so I chose not to carry a handgun in opposition to that law but carried a rifle instead. Grown ass adults need to be allowed to carry whatever they'd like. 18 to buy 18 to carry, no permit needed. That is my personal belief and political goal.

I’m here for all the UA-cam legal experts. If I was security this is how I would have handled this: Calmly and politely state open carry is prohibited and to leave. If the guy left problem solved. If not, call police and have police remove them. No point in standing there arguing. The dude even offered to leave. The officer who arrived was completely professional, level-headed, and calm. Kudos to him. He knew how to handle situations. He calmly explained his positions.

I live in Texas, so the laws are 100% different with guns, I see people walking down the road with AKs, Snipers, and shotguns... Our cops are well educated with gun laws and I think to prevent anymore " accidental shootings " more cops should be given thorough exams for the gun laws and regulations in their areas

Open carrying on public property might be fine. But using a legal loophole to bring what is clearly a weapon onto private property that doesnt allow weapons knowing you can only get a trespassing warning does NOTHING to help 2nd amendment rights. That alone is suspicious, but they don't know how to do their jobs right, so they tried to intimidate him into leaving when he hadn't committed any crime. They should've kept an eye on him, reminded him he can't carry weapons in the building, and waited for him to leave.
You arent allowed to carry handguns in Georgia but you can carry a rifle (Long Gun) without a valid carry license as long as its 100% visible (if loaded). He was just chatting with some people when they pulled up. Instead of asking him to leave, they refused to escort him to the sign and illegally detained him and then say they asked him to leave while he had inquired multiple times about his ability to do so while they denied it to him. They asked for his ID without any reason to as he was not breaking any laws. I dont see it as him asking for trouble rather than defending his rights they were borderline infringing upon

Almost everything aside from roads, sidewalks, and government owned buildings/property, are private (including this mall). If someone of authority on that property (especially security) asks you to leave and you don't, that is trespassing.
