Those New York egg rolls can be difficult to find. I moved to Georgia and they are tough to find. Usually it’s thinner and not really the same.

Not true. The Panda Express version is thinner and not quite the same as you see in New York. At least the Panda Express versions I’ve had….You can find them close to the NYC area like in Philadelphia, Jersey etc…

I prefer the Vietnamese rolls, chà gaò, with pork, carrots, and mushrooms. Lee's Bakery in Atlanta makes the bast I've had. I also like basil rolls.

I love those fried noodles with hot and sour soup. I haven't seen that many places that have them. I'll have to try one of their locations my next trip. I really like lunch specials when I'm eating alone because it gives more variety.

I love the China a Go Go on Windmill near Vons. Hunan beef, honey walnut shrimp, combination chow mein and string bean chicken are great!
Good question by Chris. Many of the smooth style egg rolls on the west coast are starting to taste like they come from a factory.

Please Do more reviews where you make changes to the menu. Like ordering Beef Chow Fun without veggies of less bean sprouts. This way we get to see if the locations can follow modification or changes for dietary or medical reasons with allergies. There are No food reviews doing videos which address allergies or medical food issue You would be the perfect medical food ambassador reviewer. On UA-cam

If you’re in Texas you should be able to get good Chinese food but you may have to drive very very long distances

I haven't had a west coast beef with broccoli OR fried rice OR egg roll yet in over 20 yrs out here that can compete with the east coast versions as far as flavor goes but will have to try this at some point to see if I am wrong Lol

They sort of are a throw back to the 80s and 90s. Occasionally you still see them in the Americanized Chinese restaurants
Not long ago you posted a video from the Downtown Grand, a “Gamblers Breakfast” which was $9 or half off the normal price. While the ham and potatoes looked good, I kept thinking to myself, “no way is that worth $18.” Honestly, it barely looked like $9 worth of food. Now you have this lunch. THIS is was a $9 meal should look like. Bonus that it was delicious. 👍

I have a friend who grew up in NYC and says west coast chinese food is not the same as east. Even the eggroll. Karla in Cali.
New York eggroll? Food and Travel DTM! Eggroll with dimples look like a chimichanga. DTM wins $10 on video poker and gets the lunch special. It's kinda like getting a comp, but more food for your bucks. Free egg flower soup is always a good deal. You should of asked "where's the go go girls?".
We've been there and the price is right but they like Krazy buffet and I have to go with them. 😁

Ask Steve if he knows where I can get New York style Chicken Chow Mein in San Antonio. I miss going to China A Go Go for takeout. (edit to add it doesn't have the spaghetti noodles that I am not a fan of.)

Each China A GO GO is massively different in the Valley, there are some great ones and some AWFUL ones! Finding a good one is great though lol.

I ate here once. The almond fried chicken was good but not great. The rest was very average hence why I've never been back. Amlee has much better almond fried chicken though. China a gogo is basically a nicer panda express imo

I don't like sipping soup from the bowl when I'm eating out. I always think that restaurant dishwashers never wash the bowl rims clean enough just like the glasses. Dishwashers usually focuses on cleaning the inside but not the rims.

NY egg rolls are the best I think, but they're usually a little longer. Seems like that's the first affordable Chinese you had. lol
If you want reasonable meals, get away from the resort districts! You don't even have to go that far off the strip or away from downtown (he's only a few miles from downtown at that location).

True. In the northeast lo mein, fried rice, egg roll and general Tso chicken is usually the most common items especially in lower income neighborhoods since they tend to be the cheapest items. And to many non Asians, that is the definition of Asian food especially among the older generation

Since you have a car and you are up very late all the time could you do a comparison review of the late night burgers from SouthPoint ( $4.95 ) and the Downtown Grand ( $7.77 ) Both include fries so this will be quite the test. Take Tung or Steve with you for company.

This place is Panda Express 2.0. Serving Americanized Chinese foods to those non- Chinese customers. It’s not authentic Chinese foods that Chinese would eat. 😮

I agree with you. However to enjoy this food you have to keep in mind that this is American food and as American as apple pie. It’s basically in the same category as hamburgers, hotdogs and pizza. So when I eat it, to me it’s like eating a burger
The quality depends on the location. I've had reasonably okay and I've had the worst from them. Look for the old Cantonese chef. Btw, they raised prices and cut portions. The honey-walnut shrimp changed from authentic "looking" white sauce to a corn syrup looking nasty thing. OMG!
You should start leaving links with the addresses of the places you visit in the description. If you really like what you ate, tell the restaurant staff or owner that you did that so they know you could be possibly be generating business fo them😊. Not that you want anything from them. Just to let them know that that meal or others are good enough to get there
alotta places are well posted on the internet, some are not. I usually dont tell anyone anything unless asked..
