I got frustrated the first time I tried learning, so I took a breath, stepped back and gave it a few days, and now I'm back and successfully created it ^.^
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these tutorials. It really helps new kandi kids like me that struggle making cuffs for the first time ! ^^
I look at the cuff in the thumbnail, and I think, "That's got to be a *ton* of work!" But now I see that it's actually pretty simple. It would be easy to mess up, but it isn't hard to do. I think I'll make one in the next month or so. Thank you!
This is the best kandi tutorial I've ever used. Explains everything in a great way easy to understand definitely recommend! Successfully made my first x-base with no problem. Thank you soo much ♡♡♡♡
all of your videos are so helpful! so far I've managed to make a shaker cube, stars and a star cuff! I'm currently working on making a rotating cuff, i plan to make a shaker cube cuff and put it onto an x-base cuff. your tutorials are so simple, so thank you!
This is so much easier to understand than the other tutorials. The kandi is centered in the frame and i can clearly see your hand movements. Thank you so much
you, my dear, are wonderful ! this is the clearest, most concise but also to the point tutorial i've seen so far and the only one I've gotten a decent start to making cuffs out of ! haha thank you !
I absolutely love your videos!!! You are so talented, truly a kandi queen. 😛💓You inspire me to really step up my game. I have already started making them for Electric Forest this year. And I will definitely be watching more of your videos! It's my first time making perler bead artwork for my kandi this year, I love it and will definitely be adding a special one to this beautiful cuff. I am fairly new to the craft, but your videos inspire me to keep pushing myself farther. Thanks for sharing your art with us
I'm quite new to kandi making but this tutorial makes it so very easy and simple!! My 11 year old sister has never made Kandi and completed this tutorial with me. Thank you so much!!!
i know this video is from so long ago but it was still so incredibly helpful, i've finally achieved my first ever x-cuff thank you so much!! (i definitely needed to trust the process because i was lowkey freaking out halfway lol)
Whoo hoo! I finally successfully made one of these! I've watched a few videos on the double x base cuff and ended up getting lost and confused. This one ended up with just the right amount of tension and I am proud of it. Thank you for this slow-paced easy to follow tutorial!
Hey! Thank you so much These tutorials have been super helpful! But if I wanted to do the x based cuff with several colors like the video image with clear beads and rainbow colors how many beads would I need of each color? Thanks again!
I definitely enjoy your videos! You have helped me a lot for cuffs. Just wish this video you would have used different colors the blue & purple were hard too see next to each other. Thank you! 😊
TYSMMM I now have the confidence and ability and motivation to make my first ever rotator cuff! (before I even learned how to make a peyote cuff but idc I want a challenge-)
Thank you!! This tutorial helped me so much with making my first X-Base!! (I only had issues with making a knot to tie off the bracelet in the end but I think that's on me XD)
Thnx so much Ginger! I don't have a hobby lobby near my house but I found them at Joanne's! It's funny because I had NO idea I had a Joanne's nest my house! Again thanks Ginger!
This vid is old but so helpful! Im working on making more kandi!! Currently ive made a kandi cuff, this one, a few normal bracelets, and a crown!!! Its so much fun to make and wear!! Tysm for making these tutorials!! :D
Ginger Kandi you are an amazing youtuber and rave kandi tutorials are pretty simple which I love but how much do raves usually cost I want to go to one in Ottawa Ontario I'm almost 30 and I have never been to a rave
i saw that you can make a kandi skirt with this pattern! i sorta understand the Xbase pattern but not how to make it expand like a regular skirt. have you ever done it?
Yes you absolutely can. We call it an x-base cuff when we use it for 3Ds but in traditional beading it's called netting stitch. I've used it to make kandi visors before. it's very versatile.
i somehow do intermediate/professional projects except i can barely tie off a single and everytime i make the x base cuff the spikes dont like to spike
Great video, but how do you keep the string tight after the first row? Because when I finished, by cuff had no structure to it and was like mush and kind of collapses on itself making it hard to see the Xs i made, if that makes sense. I used 7mm string like the same material as yours.
You need to pull it tight after each row. It may help to hold tension on it when you start on a new row. Or at the end of a row you can pull the top of each peak starting with the first one you added on the row and collect on the excess string. It takes some practice and experimenting to find out what works for you.
I don't normally count the beads that way. I start with the base and work from there. Your single needs to be in multiples of 3. I usually use 30 or 33 beads.
Somehow I didnt get to the top row because I paused the video to take a break and now they aren’t Xs but now I finished the cuff they look like triangles and my mistake ended up looking super cool!
HIII ik this videos pretty old but i was just wondering how to make it straight if it doesnt end up straight?? T0T because i was making this and it ended up a bit wonky in the end, any tips?
@@GingerCandE I can in a bit. I essentially had the start the cuff all over because the way I tied it off was all wrong. I'll try to get to the point again where I messed up and send you some photos then!
I've found that this type of plastic string wears out in less than a year and tends to snap easily. I'm a fan of fabric covered because it add an extra layer of protection over the elastic but it's really just a preference.
hi ginger cand-e your tutorials are super helpful for making kandi creations i was wondering if by chance it would be possible for you to mak a carousel cuff tutorial becuz ive honestly looked everywhere and cant find anything on how to sTart it plz help? thank you and PLUR=)
how do i get it to tighten enough to be more cylindrical instead of flat like in the beginning , i did it and it snapped which has never happened before, i use go creates bead nd stretch clear cord and i have no idea what anyone else uses.
I like 1.2mm or .7mm fabric covered elastic. You can get it at most craft stores and walmart. I find the best deals on Amazon. Bead n Stretch doesn't have the same tension strength and makes tying knots more difficult.

i have been struggling with this for a while so i’m glad you had a simple tutorial to help me learn :)
Seriously took me like 10 different videos to figure how to tie it off and your video helped. thank you!
Typically for cuffs you have to loop it back to where the end bit of the string is. So if you don’t know how that’s a good way to try :)

Thanks for this wonderful tutorial, all your videos are very helpful!
How many beads do you put on the first string before you tie it off?
Depends on your wrist size but I believe 33 is a standard size.
This is the second time trying to make a cross cuff T-T but this worked! Thank u
I’m confused, when I did it, it laid flat instead of being like a cuff. I tried to fix it, but it’s not wanting to function, any tips?
You have to pull it hard as ur doing it or pull it when ur done!
mine looks so pretty ^-^ i wanna say your videos have really helped me learn to make kandi thank you!

this was really helpful, thanks! going to turn it into a 3D cuff !
yay another one i needed. Ginger you're awesome!

It may be your string or the tension.

Ginger Cand-e Fasho, what size string do you use?
Either 1.2 mm fabric covered elastic or .7 mm fabric covered elastic.
Ginger Cand-e Cool, thank you!
the intro gives me such nostalgia
if you are doing the 30 con. and the 80 base, how many would be in the single?
I don't normally count the beads that way. I start with the base and work from there. Your single needs to be in multiples of 3. I usually use 30 or 33 beads.
Ginger Cand-e okay thanks ^.^ youre super awesome :)
This video is old, but it honestly helped me alot :D
I made it first try yay !! Sadly it’s to big but good for plur!!
Used this to make a mini rotator! Super helpful :3
Mine keeps turning out wierd and it goes link really wide at the end😊
This makes it so simple! Thank you!
love this!1!1!1 only think is that you didn’t say how much string :)
how many beads do you use for the single?
Depends on the size of your wrist
Any size as long as it's in multiples of 3. (27,30,33,36)
I messed up and i had too short of an elastic. but I accidentally made a cool other kandi! thanks
You can always add on more!
Thank u so much u have just earned a new subscriber and how did you get your camera in that position?
Omg thanks your tutorials are great to learn from keep it on!

It sounds like you either added too many beads or skipped some points. I would look at your rows and find the mistake.

It could. Astute observation. 😊
I’m here in 2025 still following the same tutorial that was made 11 years ago
Do you think it'd be okay to use .5mm stretch magic string, or is that going to be too thin?
I've found that this type of plastic string wears out in less than a year and tends to snap easily. I'm a fan of fabric covered because it add an extra layer of protection over the elastic but it's really just a preference.
