Don't give that repair good odds on lasting for long. The area around the repair will be weaker than the original material due to affects of heat, this means it will fatigue much faster and fracture. This type of repair can only be successful if add more material in the form of stretcher plates over or behind the damaged area of chassis.
@@thesecatsarecrazy567 It's the same in many European countries now as well, the vehicle simply wouldn't pass the roadworthiness testing in many countries, and they look pretty hard at the chassis on tippers and skip loading trucks for that reason.
Why do we only bolt together our double frames? The main reason is so they can move when trucks go off road, because if they don't, they will crack like like this one did. That was a pretty wide weld on the first repair as well as the second, which means he probably welded both frames together, even if by accident. This frame is going to break again in the same spot because of the weld. Never mind that the frames are heat treated in the bends, which he just took out. There are other mistakes as well, but the biggest is welding a double together like he did. It is going to break again, and it's a lawsuit waiting to happen!
The real magic to doing a repair like this is not damaging any of the surrounding components.....LOL!
Repairs over repairs. Its already been done once, the weld is clearly visible.

The crack was caused by the original repair. You can see it started at the weld. In NY, this repair is illegal, and a lawsuit waiting to happen!

Puma makes awesome welding shirts and safety shoes...I wonder if the welding mask lense is made by CocaCola or Pepsi.
That's why we have laws about frames, deadly repair
I have seen labels on truck frames that say not to drill or weld the frame.
The flange. You can weld and drill the flat. Do not cut weld or drill flange.
I came to the comments looking for this.

Parabéns 👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷
Impresionante, un saludo
I would have welded it up and filled the round holes with steel 💯
This repair will last for years. It's done all the time.

@zepp3lin in NYS, it is illegal, and we have lawyers (unfortunately).
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
