Descended from born and bred forever Manxman(despite there having been a boat in the morning for my father back in the early 50's) and now learning the language. Good vid, deserves more views
Hey Im from the Isle of Man, Mannanan is son of the sea in Ireland, but God of the Sea/God of Mann on the Isle of Man as he was supposedly the 'protector of the Island and legendary first King of Mann' and he would bring his cloak over the Island which would appear as a thick fog which hid the Island from invaders (that worked well lol...). The language is still used but only on things like shop signs that say welcome/closed in Manx, or in school young children have to greet teachers with Moghrey mie (good morning) or Fastyr mie (good afternoon) and many choose to do lessons as well as an entire primary school where the students only speak Manx, however not many people choose to go there 😂 cool that you made a video on us though, thankyou :) I will share with friends. P.s as well as parliament, we are very proud of being the first place to allow Property owning Women to vote (dispute with New Zealand over being the first because of the property owning bit).
I’m Manx too and supposedly in the Spanish Armada one of the ships wrecked at Spanish head and that’s how Juan is also a Manx name Bro cant even stop people from coming here by accident
