Poor Richter, hasn't dealt with the trauma of watching his mom die right in front of him and probably his fault for not running away forcing her to fight with no option of retreat and now has to deal with 2 strong independent girls who don't take his feelings into account and never get told off for all their stupid decisions. Never look at the larger picture for their actions, like trying to purge the church and not understanding what that means for society as a whole and at a local level, all those lives lost just so they can feel better about themselves even though most were probably innocent. Of all the characters in the show he was the most sane and competent even though he possessed inferior equipment when compared to Trevor.
>"never get told of for their stupid decisions" Except for when annetes literal mentor told her being angry with richter for running was short sighted and hypocritical and when Maria's mom reminded her that being suspicious/skeptical of the revolution in and of itself doesn't make people bad. The latter literally gave the biggest anti revolutionary voice a hand to redeem himself...and he chose to bound that hand with the other and try and sacrifice her.
