@@muin2038This is 300-400 years since Trevor and Sypha. The Belmonts are back and presumably in this series, the Belmonts are the people they kept in the village so we have a group of Vampire Killers again. Richter is a direct descendant of Trevor and Sypha. And Alucard, presumably had just slept probably after Trevor and Sypha died or maybe in this series after Greta died. The question is if Alucard left a descendant but in game, Maria is the only possible "romantic" partner he had once she turns 18 which is 2 years after this series. There's also Sonya but she is non-canon.
I must've heard that boast, thousands of times. At the end of the day, you'll die, just like every other vampire that has tasted my blade. "And perhaps I shall, but there is a certain honour to it, to fight a foe, on even footing, something these cattle, will never understand."
I love the little "hmm" he gives when he says "and on the brink of utter defeat." Three hundred years after he fought Dracula and Death with Trevor and Sypha, and you can tell he's smiling on the inside at the thought of getting to fight alongside a Belmont again.

The fact that Alucard is also proud to declare he is the son of Dracula and trash-talking Richter Belmont with "You must be Richter Belmont. Complete with whip...hmmmm...and on the brink of utter defeat." even if they just met makes his comeback even better.
The amount of joy I felt seeing Alucard cannot be expressed. It was like seeing an old friend again. And the absolute confidence in his voice, there is no mistaking his power.
@@Teddyponsel2626I mean we're talking bout a guy who manage to have an equal footing against Alucard and defeat Death while living to tell the tale. I think that's enough of a resume for Trevor to practically beat Drolta.
The eclipse perfectly symbolizes who and what Alucard is. The product of a rare meeting between light and dark. Love the shot where he's in front of it.
I love the shock and disbelief on Drolta's face as that sword pierced her heart, an ancient vampire of her status was defeated in an instant by a vampire barely a few hundred years old, no grand moment, it was over in an instant and she wasn't even an afterthought. She obviously suffered from a superiority complex in that she was used to fighting helpless mortals and never fought against someone that powerful before.

Evil may win at some point, but they will never be victorious. The isn't the end. In fact, true battle isn't starting yet. The moment Alucard shows up, that's where the true battle begins. That doesn't mean he's not real. 300 year, he's been fighting the forces of darkness. Now he's back to aid Richter just like he did before centuries ago with Trevor.
Well seeing Alucard as a vampire, IS akin to Meeting the "GRIM REAPER" sooo... in the man's defense he's spent 300+yrs just slaying other vampires for just being d-ck bags to humanity..so it makes sense they'd be scared sh-tless of a guy who's slaughtered a 1/3rd of their kind litterally solo. Also he made slaying their "Big Bad Boss B-ch Queen" look like a joke to him.
Given how he looked in the original series and how he looks now, paler skin, longer whitened hair, a different expression in his eyes, it’s clear that immortality has taken its toll on the guy after being separated from his dear friends for all these years. But after he turns to them, a small shine of hope is clearly seen and heard in his voice. Hopefully we get a season 2 and we get to see more of Alucard.
Honestly yes, the last season of Castlevania with Trevor and Sypha, they did not do him justice.... Edited: let me clarify, I am not referring to Alucard’s appearance. Alucard: The reason why i awakened is to make sure your bloodline doesnt go off the beaten path & before you ask, no i dont want to make babies & expand my cursed blood over & over again, im going to make sure i dont get my ass handed to.
I love the voice acting of James Callis as Alucard. His voice perfectly portrays the melancholy of Alucard's existence; a boy who was forced to kill his own father and a vampire who is destined to spend eternity hunting down and vanquishing his own kind.
Symbolic.. He was blonde in the first castlevania and had a more human facial structure.. This alucard has brighter golden eyes, snow white hair and skin and looks even younger.. I think it shows how over the centuries he eventually lost his more human physical features and finally became full vampire in appearance but still keeping his human heart..
So another interesting thing to consider. Richter had his "Bloodlines" theme play when he had his moment. Listen for Alucard's. When he turns and says "you must be the belmont" the music building up during that time is the leitmotif consistently used in the first Lord's of Shadow Game.
@Kageoth There were a lot of times in Nocturne where the music gave me LoS vibes. But yes, this is definitive the LoS leitmotif. I cannot wait to hear more musical references. Also, did you know the Belmont crest in Netflix is also from LoS?
I couldn't help but notice the way he had his cloak/cape outstretched like a set of white wings, against the white corona of the eclipse...almost 'holy', like a 'savior' in that moment...
I’m curious how he got there. Does he have access to the portal mirrors? He has access to all of Castlevania, his fathers castle, AND the Belmont stronghold after all….

“I am Alucard.” Love the pure fear that simple statement brings to all the other vampires. This is the son of the world’s most legendary vampire, who defeated his father alongside the last Belmont and a potent sorceress. And he just casually dropped a demoness who was outmatching a Belmont, two magicians and a knight. No wonder they don’t want any part of what he can bring.
Let's make one thing clear: Richter wasn't "outmatched" by the demon lady. Until her mistress interrupted their fight, Richter matched her blow for blow and was steadily gaining the upper hand
Alucard got his cheeks spread by a Dracula that had been starving himself for months or even a year. Dracula could've neg diff all three if he wanted it. A starving Dracula took a point blank Morningstar whip and just shook it off.
As much as we all "love" Alucard, technically his dad let him defeat him. Dracula was easily winning and could have killed him, but he wouldn't kill his only son. His humanity came out in his love for his son and "let" Alucard kill him.
Kinda disappointed in that sentence, i would absolutely have thought the name dracula would run through this universe for centuries as almost a god and place in history

You know, something I noticed when Alucard introduced himself. When he said, " I am the son of Dracula," it sounded like it there was a hint of pride in his voice. This is a huge change from SOTN and beyond. Alucard always tried to distance himself as much as he could from his father. Hell, he even believed his lineage was cursed, and that's why he went for that long ass nap. Since Dracula and Lisa came back, it's very possible that they reunited with their son, and Alucard never had to slumber because he had his family back and was actually happy. With his father returning to the man he remembered as a child, it's no wonder Alucard now openly calls himself " son of Dracula." It's also likely that due to this change, Dracula most likely taught Alucard how to use his powers better and, as a result, is far stronger than his video game counterpart. Or, I'm full of crap and just looking too deep into this. Lol
I never played the games but it seems Dracula always comes back and is still evil. I'm not sure if these shows stay true to the games or not but I figured he'd be a villian again up until being killed permanently by Julius Belmont

It was the easiest way he could have let the enemy know who he is as they too are vampires and vampires unlike human know exactly who Dracula is. The undisputed king of all Vampires. Not someone like Bathory who is still to gain control over all Vampires.
nah, you're not full of crap. It's totally possible that Alucard's pride in being the son of Dracula stems from his reunion with his family and a newfound sense of happiness. And hey, looking deep into things is part of the fun.
I love this scene. When everything seems lost and suddenly Alucard appears with epic music and has simply killed one of the 3 most powerful enemy vampires in this season. I love his looks. He looks 100% like he does on the symphony of night cover. Now I wish I could watch season 2 right now.

Not gonna lie, I didn't like the storyline in this season. I almost wrote the damned thing off, if they hadn't shown Richter going buck wild with his new magic powers. This Alucard scene convinced me to stay for the next season.

Eh I feel this will be about as bad as what they did with Dracula where his character was really interesting but they wrote it in a way where it doesn’t really make sense for him to return when that’s the whole point of castlevania. Similarly here it’s cool for alucard to appear but merging richter and alucard’s story rather than separate ones that lead into the other sort of lessens both of their stories
I love how theyve brought him more in line with his SotN design. I also love that James Callis is voicing him again. I couldnt picture any other voice for him now.
I love how Callis almost NEVER raises his voice as Alucard, but the character never has issues being heard. It adds to the otherworldly mystery of the character; Alucard as a dhampyr isn't just a watered down Dracula; he's a union between the love of a great monster and a great woman, something entirely new and awe-inducing.
“Whip, getting your ass handed to you… yeah, you’re a Belmont alright.” Is how Alucard probably greets all of his nephews and nieces when they need a hand.
Most underlooked line in this scene: 2:03 "Who's Dracula?" It's both funny because we as audiences understand the significance of Alucard & his father, but also puts into perspective that fact that so many others in the world do not. Dracula is a figure of the Old World, before Europeans knew of other continents existing west of the Atlantic. He surely knew about their existence, but they did not know of him, showing how even the greatest of historical figures can be unknown to those living on different sides of the world, with their own histories.

In the whole series she’s never been confronted by anyone out of pure fear. And yet she dies in split seconds, finished by Alucard. The way all the tension breaks in the scene is great, amazingly written. Really goes to show how truly powerful Alucard is in comparison.

They're young and still need practice. But I do agree that they're not as great as the previous ones. Richter is like the modern generation that dwells on his trauma while Trevor was like the old generation who gives traumas. 😂 Trevor in the show has balls of steel especially when he fought death.

Alucard got his cheeks spread by a Dracula that had been starving himself for months or even a year. Dracula could've neg diff all three if he wanted it. A starving Dracula took a point blank Morningstar whip and just shook it off.

Love the design for Alucard. The one in the OG Castlevania was good, but this one looks even closer to his look in Syymphony of the Night.
This is the Alucard I grew up loving as a character. He isn't just an immortal badass, he's a mythical hero with otherworldly power.
This scene is truly amazing. Imagine building so much momentum around the figure of Drolta: invincible, powerful, cruel, to the point no one dares to get close to her. In the whole series she’s never been confronted by anyone out of pure fear. And yet she dies in split seconds, finished by Alucard. The way all the tension breaks in the scene is great, amazingly written. Really goes to show how truly powerful Alucard is in comparison.
I mean, Richter was handing her her ass until that other vampire came in and was lvl 100

I love this trope how you have a Dragon type character (Drolta) who is a big threat to the main characters. Then have her one shot by another character just to show how leagues above he is from everyone else. It really gives hope in a depressing finale.

They're young and still need practice. But I do agree that they're not as great as the previous ones. Richter is like the modern generation that dwells on his trauma while Trevor was like the old generation who gives traumas. 😂 Trevor in the show has balls of steel especially when he fought death.

Maria was the descendant of Belnades too, you know.
It’s literally history repeating itself. Love it. A bond bound by battle and friendship
It’s exactly like season 1, when they showed sypha, trevor and alucard in the end.
Maria needs to up her magic. The beasts are super cool and their animation is top notch (still needs to summon the dragon though) but I feel magic overall was nerfed after Sypha's feats un the previous series.
@@danelwind2574 Actually, I like the fact that main characters aren’t super op from the beginning. It gives a space for a great development and at the end we appreciate the improvement more. That’s why everyone loved Sypha. In first season she barely used magic and each season they managed to amp creativity with her spell casting. If the magic was nerfed, I don’t know. Nocturne take place 300 years after first series. Not only Belmonts evolved in combat but vampires as well. Magic was still very effective but when Erzsebet appeared with her insane god form and deflected everything like it was nothing. Sorry for my english. I’m sure they saved the best for later. Olrox is on track to becoming another """""good""""" vampire (good in so many quotes because vampires are evil in nature - mostly)... if Richter doesn't kill him.
I find it funny because this vampire orlox didn't commit e massive killing on humans for killing his love one instead went for the killer of his loved one haha

It's bound to happen given that Richter is most famous in his two series, first in Rondo of the blood which was a japan exclusive in the initial release. And the internationally acclaimed Symphony of the Night where Alucard stars and him as a supporting character.
@@user-pi1lb4tf2f I was definetly thinking this would happen in some way, given that Symphony of the Night can't really happen with Dracula being redeemed (or at least not actively evil anymore). Makes more sense to mesh the two games' stories into one.
