8:00 4Kids used the "FoxBox" name for their Saturday morning block from Fox Sports' own scoring box graphics we normally during their NFL coverage & other sporting events on the network!
But it wasn't as long-lived as Fox Kids. Can't say I blame the lack of interest in Saturday morning cartoons during the 2000s. I mean, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

Goddamn, the Fox Box is still my favorite programming block of all time. At the time I didn’t even notice how the majority of this content was Japanese lol.
@@hisyoungmajesty 4kids had nothing to do with this show, other than broadcast rights. They had to air it on the Fox Box because it was cheap and E/I-compliant.

There was also another FoxBox preview special - appropriately titled "The FoxBox Sneak Preview Show" - which aired as the last program on Fox Kids' final day on air (September 7, 2002).
I've been looking all over for this! I remember seeing the last bit of it when I was 4 years old. By the way, they didn't bother showing more of Stargate Infinity, because they knew the show would be bad. Can't say I blame them. I can see two reasons why this show aired on the Fox Box. It was cheap, and it was E/I compliant. 4kids Entertainment obviously had nothing to do with this show aside from broadcast rights.
Around that time and 2003, Stargate Infinity used to be shown Monday mornings at 730. Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd century on Tuesdays and Wednesdays mornings at 730 Archie’s Weird Mysteries on Thursdays and Fridays mornings at 730 All on Fox.
I remember the transition from Fox Kids to Fox Box. In retrospect it was pretty bad, especially knowing now how much 4Kids butchered shows. But I was the right age to be excited about a Kirby show, and really enjoyed Ultaman Tiga and Ultimate Muscle.
you wouldn't happen to have recorded all of the ultraman tiga 4kids dub airings, did you? i'm under the impression a handful of those are still "lost media"
They will be up soon, but it's still a bummer the 2nd half that aired India could be lost media forwver since mill creek and Tsuburaya don't want to rerelease it.
In 2001, Disney bought Saban Entertainment, which owned 1/2 of the Fox Kids block, along with either having produced or distributed almost all the content, as well as Fox Family Worldwide (The Fox Family Channel). In September 2002, Disney moved Power Rangers (Wild Force) over to ABC Kids mid-season and in 2002 launched their Saturday and Sunday morning blocks (consisting of mostly content from Saban's library) on the newly re-branded ABC Family Channel. Between 2000-2001, most of the local Fox affiliates also began cutting back their weekday Fox Kids content to 2 hours, wiping out their morning blocks and pushing back their shows an hour earlier, from 2pm-4pm. The local Fox affiliates also voted to eliminate Fox Kids weekday blocks entirely by 2002 to devote more time to syndicated content and more local news coverage. While the local affiliates felt the need to devote weekday content to their own programming, Saturday morning content would otherwise be devoted to paid programming/infomercials. So Fox decided to auction off the four-hour block from 8am-12pm. 4Kids put in a bid and won, launching the FoxBox in September 2002, which lasted through the end of the 2008 year (by that point having renamed themselves as 4Kids TV).
@@newspooiechannel And in 2012, Disney bought Lucasfilm Ltd. and later in 2019, Disney also bought 20th Century-Fox completely and renamed 20th Century Studios.
