I married my wife Sept 15th 1988. We always enjoyed playing Tennessee on iur Anniversary weekend. My Father played for Tennessee so it was always a great time because we have beat them so many times 26-9 since we married. I lost my Father this year and i hope they do well in the playoffs. I made him a statue with a Tennessee helmet incased on top if it and another for their Baseball NC. They both turned out great. I miss him so much and ive caught myslef trying to call him during the season. 37 years with my Forever Girl and i pray infinity more. To my Dad Rest Easy and just for you Go Vols
It's true , those that make the schedule's hate the Gators , same as the people that vote for the rankings , they all hate us ! All I can say is , let's prove the haters wrong ! GO GATORS
DJ lagway and LJ McCray and their friends all came here to win these kind of games... We ain't afraid of no ghosts. But other than that I agree with everything you said Ali.
I thought getting rid of the East and West would ensure we'd play against all teams in the conference in a two year period. Looks like we are essentially playing the same list of teams next year.
It’s not just that we are playing Tennessee late in the season, it’s the fact we are playing them RIGHT before FSU, just as we had to play them RICHT after FSU that year (2001). Two tough rivalries back to back is expecting a lot.
CANES fan here i'm very concerned about our 2025 matchup because Mario doesn't seem like the long term answer the guy had the best rb and a generational qb out the portal with the top offense and he still managed to miss the playoffs Lagway is coming along just fine
Never liked Mario from the start, and I'm a lifelong Canes fan. He's a fine recruiter, but he doesn't retain players-often star talent will transfer after 1 year- and he doesn't really have a coaching philosophy.
I would have prefered UT and LSU to be swapped, but other than that, I like the order. We get a couple games to build momentum, A possible statement win in Death Valley, and homefield advantage and bye for the Texas game which I think will be the toughest matchup. We can use Mississippi State to rebound if we lose to Texas or A&M and boost confidence going into the Georgia matchup. The last stretch isn't threatning other than the late season Tennesse game. I think the Gators have the potential to be at least 8-4 or 9-3.
Glad we have 2 warm up games before the rough road should b able to jump on Maimi and LSU running on all cylinders and a bye before Texas to get healthy
Ok, I agree with still having PTSD after '01, but it was actually before that game, throughout most of the Spurrier era, where it was Tennessee fans saying towards the end of most seasons, "If we could just play the Gators now!". This is how the term "Volsheimer's" came about. They would constantly claim to be the best team in the SEC every November somehow dismissing and "forgetting" their usual loss to the Gators in September.
Weird how we never see Auburn. I thought all the SEC teams, not a regular rival were on a set rotation ? I guess that was a lie told by the SEC Administration?
Let’s go! Let’s beat them all! I don’t like the schedule because I’m used to playing Tennessee early but other than that, let’s beat their arses! Billy’s revenge tour! lol
SEC goes out of its way to preserve traditional rivalries and dates except when it comes to Florida. They throw A&M on our schedule every season but we haven’t played Auburn in years. Maybe more than a decade. I think we can safely assume we will continue to play A&M and Texas every year from now on.
I’ve never been to a game, I’m in Utah and been a Florida fan ever since Urban left the U of U. I would love to go to a game this upcoming season and experience the whole game say shenanigans and hopefully a night game. Where/ what section would you recommend? Where’s a couple cool places to stay? Airport to fly into? (Sorry to bombard with questions)
This is where I feel Scott Stricklin has failed us the most. Even after a decade of irrelevance, Florida is still a top 10 national brand. However, since Foleys departure. the UF brand has been little more than a shiny commodity the SEC uses for their own marketing purposes. While some of that has (and will) always happened, there was give and take under Foley. These days with SS who doesn't want to rock the boat, its all take. Not just this and last year, but basically since 2018, UF has had top 5 hardest schedule every year. The SEC has catered the Alabama, UGA, LSU, TAMU (and recently Tenn and Texas) with no consideration to UF. That is because UF has no advocate and no leadership at the conference level anymore. SS has ceded that to the like of Josh Brooks, Danny White, and Chris Del Conte. This, to me, is one of his largest failures and a massive impediment to success of Napier. While I have recanted my criticism and giving Billy time to cook. Scott still must go.....
I dont like Tennessee being at the end of the season theyre usually our 1st or 2nd conference game and thats where they should be but aĺl in all it matters not we will curb stomp Tennessee no matter where they're at on our schedule

Same thing. Just flipped the home and away.... obviously it's not in the same order, you're definitely correct

I agree about the timing of the TN game, that was the first thing I thought of when the schedule was announced.
I learned my lesson this season to appreciate the cupcake in week one from what we went through

Agreed
We ain’t making no excuses we beating all of em if you’re a recruit you should want these games exposure etc
I don't like playing Tennessee right before FS2-10 week
That’s a crazy schedule imbalance
I love it 🎉 let's go gators 😍 we go 12 -0
Can someone also explain to me why the SEC is so against having Tennessee-Florida on Third Saturday In September again?
They know tn can't win unless its late in season
@@RJ-fe9pu Just for the record, Tenn's third week in Sept opponent next year is. . . Georgia.
@@michaelwolf6424 ok my comment was about fl tn
Hey Girllll..... Thanks for sharing all of the updates

I thought I heard it’s the toughest again. Life in the SEC.
If not, it has to be #2. LSU and Miami back-to-back away early in the season is brutal.
The same 7 ranked teams again, maybe 8 if FSU pulls their head out of their… this season
Oklahoma reportedly has a very tough schedule.
@ anyone in the SEC ;)

At least we know in 2026 our schedule will be a little easier..!
I live in Fort Lauderdale so my family and I will be at the Miami game
Basically the same schedule as this year to me just more away games and easier opening!

TX ga bama get cakewalks meanwhile Fl getting worked over like a rat in the mafia
Well this schedule is basically the inverted version of this year's schedule with the order tweaked a bit from last year so what were you expecting
@walker1984 you're right fairness was too much to ask for or even respecting the traditions of rivalries
@@RJ-fe9pu I do miss playing Tennessee early. I think it was the 3rd game most years until it got changed forever

Gators aren’t scared to play anyone
I say we go 9-3. On the bubble and hoping like hell we squeak in.
Why not play the toughest schedule it’s all about the money whether you like it or not fla is top 10 public university
Why does top teams Like Oregon Getting Cupcake Schedules while Florida still running gauntlets
Gotta work on those s’s. 😂
GBO
Why’d you bring up 2001!?!? Ugh almost lost my cookies again! 😬🤢🤮
Long Island U? Seriously? Couldn’t find a tougher opponent?
We need all the cupcakes we can get next year
We were supposed to play famu but they canceled at the last minute so we had to find someone to fill in
