What I find does not show him being associated with communists. Anyways, Jamie Raskin is his own person. I see him as being super articulate and intelligent. The great thing about Raskin’s comment about Greene is that his comment wasn’t just a comment, mere words. He’s entire demeanor carried clear energy of talking to trash which is not even worth giving time to - he said his thing - and carried on with his speech as if waving away a fly. Can’t defend yourself, dig yourself out of the hole in which he sees you. Perfection. Truth.

Silly you. Silly me. I thought so too. If I had a subpoena to go to court and didn't show up; I guarantee you that they would have a warrant for my arrest.
For anybody else, it does. We are witnessing defiant contempt for the rule of law before our very eyes. They're nihilists. They don't believe in anything. Abusing power is what seizing power is for, in their eyes. They ought to be confined, post haste.
Unfortunately, while congress has subpoena power, it is not the same as a court of law. The courts are part of the judicial system and can arrest those who fail to show up. Congress is part of the legislature and has to basically ask the judicial system for assistance.
I was made aware in certain terms that I'd had been arrested had I not shown up in front of a judge regarding an investigation. Someone in my company ripped off an insurance firm and it had decided that I was shielding the suspect. No such thing, and ultimately my company was held blameless but the judge showed me the arrest order, ready to sign, had I not shown up, and WITH the documents that proved our non- involvement in the matter. I suppose people in high places are above legal obligations.
Strange that you can be threatened with contempt of court and arrest if you don't show up for local jury duty, but you can just go about your day and ignore a subpoena from Congress.

@@waynebokum6675 First of all, just about any Jewish person with any education from the 1940s and 1950s was sympathetic to socialist causes. This was partly a cultural heritage that went back to Eastern Europe and also because Jewish Americans have often looked at social justice as a worthy cause. Not every Jewish American went in that direction (the notorious Roy Cohn comes to mind) but one could stereotype people of that period as "commie sympathizers." The musical "Flora the Red Menace" covers that subculture. In the present political climate, calling someone a socialist, or the extreme, a communist is plenty to get certain people to broil, to take up arms in defense of this country's conservative principles. Those conservative principles did not include having any respect for black people, as evidenced by the Civil Rights Movement and the many lynchings that took place in this country.
Should we be alarmed by the information you presented? Or look at it as another attempt to discredit someone who is on the January 6 committee? Most of us, including me, would like to see justice in action and that includes investigating what took place behind the scenes in the attempt to recast the election results to keep Trump in power.

You seem to know. Is having a community volunteer fire department socialist? Does the Catholic Church support socialist causes because it champions the poor? Was Christ a socialist? He certainly did not play by the rules set up by political authority. Were monasteries communist? All property and work was shared by members of the monastery. I don't mean to be arguing for socialism because it has its problems, particularly in the way it downplays pure meritocracy. In the case of Jamie Raskin his net worth is estimated to be above 20 million dollars, possibly even higher. I would imagine that he is somehow playing the capitalist game. And Nancy Pelosi reportedly has over $100 million. Some of that came from stocks in the tech industry. She is a real capitalist. What would be the motivation for any millionaire to be an advocate of socialism? What is in it for them?
