that transition from him saying that to playing that riff gave me goosebumps, ian had a nice music taste and hearing bauhaus dedicate that song to him is just fucking gold
Saw Bauhaus perform this live for the very first time back in December 1978. I come from Manchester but studied down in Northampton back then. I told Pete he reminded me of Howard Devoto, ironically they ended up supporting Magazine around 1980. I always thought there was a deep similarity between Joy Division and Bauhaus. Both bands music had an 'attack' and 'questioning' about it and very much reflected the desperate times in Britain during the collapse of the manufacturing industry and the difficulties that created for many.
I was there with my soon to be wife, hard to believe this was 11 years ago. Bauhaus was so tight..and dead on..Kevin does not miss, David spot on, Daniel letting it rip and Peter's voice = perfection
i saw them at the warfield in frisco. I'll have to say, bauhaus sound TREMENDOUS live compared to their studio album. driving back home with my friends that night. we were listening to them and the studio versions sounded like shit compared to their live versions hah...
@@BASSVIOLATOR I saw a concert of peter Murphy and Dalis Car in Bologna, maybe in 1985 or 1986, I don't remember well. It was in a theatre called QBo. But before I saw Bauhaus in 1982 always close to Bologna and the made the performace of Bela Lugosi's dead with Peter on a metal net, like in the film with David Bowie
@@silgrandi that´s great !! never saw footage of DalisCar performing live there´s only one video here in youtube of them playing " His Box " from a tv show with some pre recorded tracks and some other tracks live
He was the singer from Joy Division, one of the bands that started the 'Goth Rock' movement (along with Bauhaus, The Cure & Siouxsie) He hung himself over 30 years ago in his kitchen, you should listen to Joy Division!

Ian Curtis was purportedly a Bauhaus fan
