    What an inspiring video! I loved his quote... "the pain in workouts is temporary.. the feeling of having accomplished it is much greater.." I love swimming and I always absorb skills and drills from coaches and Olympians on youtube. Super exciting sport.

    Nathan's freestyle looks like an art. I haven't seen a stroke more beautiful than his.

    keep in mind: swimming to maintain mental health is great, but also recognize that once in a while, taking a break and *not* swimming will also keep your mental health in check. sometimes swim gets very overwhelming. don’t be afraid of taking breaks. just be ready to give it your all when you’re ready to get back in the pool :)
    edit: i just got back in the water after a rather extensive break (2 and a half months) and it’s stressful. but to everyone getting back into the water, turn your stress into motivation. make that stress your motivation to push yourself to get back into your groove. and if you can’t, don’t worry! there is no time limit on breaks. give it your all, work on yourself, and you will see improvements when you’re ready to make them ❤️

    Uncle Jesse would be so very proud of Nathan Adrian for doing something good. The swim team at the Hazzard County High School should take note of the latter's methods.

I got one from Next Level Diet to help me maintain my physique and I actually like their plans. Was just wondering if you've heard of or tried any of them yourself. Thank you!

      @YSFmemories 2 роки тому

      @@FaresKsebati I actually just asked on reddit a couple days ago, everyone says to workout your core in swimming, but none of the youtube coaches teach about HOW to engage the core; there's so much on EVF, head position, streamline etc etc etc, but no videos specifically on how to engage the core and why it's necessary/useful

    • @embersandash
      @embersandash 2 роки тому

      @@YSFmemories Nathan touches upon this in the video - he talked about the bracing done when lifting weights, more easily felt when using a belt. Technically this bracing is called the valsalva maneuver. One of the essential concepts is expanding the abdominal muscles rather than contracting. If heavy compound weightlifting isn’t your thing, the yoga teach Simon Borg Olivier teaches how to not only do so without weights, but also how to leverage this activity to be both strong and relaxed, using the core to manipulate the spine one vertebrae at a time.
