Like who am I trying to impress when I'm out buying expensive clothes or a trendy new watch when I can barely make a living being an underpaid wage slave? Am I trying to impress other poor people? What's the point of trying to put on a front when it's only going to inevitably hinder my progress? It makes no sense. A lot of people realize this concept way too late after they've spent their life earnings trying to impress people that they don't like and/or that don't care about them at all. Such is today's society.
