  • I never let my disability stop me from trying new things. We recently completed a ‘Learn the Ropes’ course so Tom and I could safely climb on top ropes walls without supervision, so I wanted to share how I manage to get in and out of a harness, how I tie in and how I belay Tom with one hand.
For anyone wanting to try climbing, whether you have a limb difference or not, I hope this will inspire you to give it a go. I understand trying new things can be intimidating especially an activity like climbing, but you just have to go gently and at your own pace. Why not book in to visit a climbing centre near you for a taster session and just see how you go. Every centre we’ve been to has been friendly, helpful and welcoming.
