That looks great! I'm not much of a cook, but I've been thinking it would be great to make tonkatsu! I've been experimenting with other Japanese dishes with great success, but I have no experience deep frying. What do you end up doing with the leftover oil?
Hi great question! I keep plastic containers from takeout meals or old spaghetti jars or even milk cartons and put the old oil in them to throw away. Basically anything that you can seal and toss. Usually you shouldn’t reuse old oil multiple times so I just use fresh oil every time :) It’s also why a lot of Asian households have random containers and jars around the house LOL just make sure the oil is cold before you put it in the discard container!
Also if it’s your first time deep frying, make sure you watch some more tutorials to know some safety when it comes to frying like not overfilling the pot, making sure the food is dry before frying, and have some baking soda nearby in case of oil fires!
The end result looks delish! Great jobbb
Thank you! and thanks for the sub-- just subbed back! :)
