You played it like a big noob, no tricky battle at all. And Brittain and Austria are both 10 pointer nations. You had a 5 point advantage of them, their nations are inferior in every aspect. How did you still lose.
If you look at the stats, Austria only deployed 1000 troops. That's insanely small for an Austrian army (and the units he did choose weren't even that great). PA and TRK had a huge numerical advantage, despite choosing weaker factions (although Poland at a 9 does just fine.)

Thanks for getting back to NTW3! Thriving community and a new release coming soon (8.0)! I will say that the faction point difference was significant, so the Austria player may have only used half his money to compensate (or was brand spanking new.) Would love to see more of these, several other players have made a couple videos of this mod, but are still new to youtube (including the British player in this battle).

I have to say, I've watched almost every single one of your videos on this channel and they're epic. I've watched other UA-camrs commentating on NTW and they're just not easy to listen to/ or don't know what to comment on.
I can sit back, relax and have a cuppa and maybe a bag of popcorn too hehe.
Why didn't you use Hussars to scout ahead? They are much faster and can get out of brutal situations much faster and more well organized.
Hussars are c7s in general; lancers are c8's which means they are faster.

I realize its old, but im not much of a river crossing unless multiple points of crossing. And being its an old video, i wish i did watch when it came up but loved the intro. Keep adding bits like into those recently made videos of your short video. (Your New House Move) Play with some editing to fill up the time P.A. You have the flavor, lets see how it tastes!
My favourite battles in TW is where there are over 10 thousands soldiers, more laggy but I love large scale battles

Charging you infantry so early was a terrible idea. You were absolutely smashing them in the gun fight. If you’d waited another minute, some of them would have broken on their own, and you could have charged with an even better advantage.

And yeah, you were right with the points. All of the major factions, Austria, Prussia, Austria, France and Russia are ten pointers.
However, the highest point-rating is 1806 France with 11 points.
You will often see higher point factions with much better infantry and more elite units with better cav and more diverse artillery while a lower point faction has less elite infantry, only a handful of cavalry, and only standard artillery.

And for your knowledge, the number on the flag in the lobby is indeed the power of the faction, but usually, both teams try to balance the sum of this points, to get two balanced armies.
This was a great battle. It wasn't extremely quick pace nor was it a even outcome. But the tactics and sudden backfire of the bayonet charge was very interesting to watch. Really love seeing you play.
