Hey Apollo! Don't know if you know this already but there is a game similar to Mount & Blade: NW and Holdfast: NaW being developed at this very moment. The game is called 'Whigs & Thories: American Revolution'. I talked to the devs and they are really cool people and the game they're developing looks really good. I strongly recommend for you to check it out if you haven't done so already. Same goes for anyone interested :)
Whigs and Tories is a really old mod for MB unless they are overhauling it. Nobody plays it lol. Most that want Napoleonic style play Napoleonic Wars or North and South Manassas
The same developers are making a standalone game 'Whigs & Tories: American Revolution' based on the mod 'Whigs & Tories' they made for Mount & Blade :)
People don't realise the French Navy at this time could actually rival the British Navy. This fact led the British to expand it and become the global power we know they did. The French bankrupted themselves supporting the US, paving the way for Napoleon to lead an immense land power
It wasn't just France that got hit HARD from economic times from getting involved. I discovered that German country Hessians were from... they got severely knocked up too. You know why? They had a strong militarized government infrastructure and culture than most other places of the time. Every guy was suppose to have serve. When they sent their soldiers over they had no clue it would last long like it did and keep escalating. Over time more and more troops were sent over and this gradually caused the country to fall under tough economic times back home. It literally caused angry citizens, politicians, and servicemen to begin rethinking to restructure their system. OH! Also these fellas were not exactly paid mercenaries. From what I hear it was just some royal in charge that pocketed most of the cash while most of his country's soldiers did all the work. This gradually built more resentment by these soldiers towards ruling bodies and leaders involved in the war. Hessians and other German soldiers over time started to become more sympathetic to the rebels. Some of them became deserters or joined the rebellion. From what I have also heard by the time the war ended a SIGNIFICANT amount of these fellas did not return home. Some of them chose to stay in the U.S. It is was mainly because of how a lot of British officials and their own home's leaders rubbed them the wrong way that they felt like it was better to stay in the U.S. than be subjected to these same people more upon their return. (The American revolution really got more complex and F up for everyone as it kept continuing. Britain really did made the best choice in just getting fed up and leaving. It would have continued to screw them over more, especially when the war already ruined their finances in the process)

Hmm. Battle of Quibrion Bay, Battle of the Saints, Battle of Cape Finisterre.... Try naming a fleet action where the French navy from 1750 to 1850 won a decisive victory against the Royal Navy. Its just a endless string of defeats. It's puzzling why someone would make a comment like this. Perhaps they looked at the Cheaspeake battle, which was far from a French tactical victory and just assumed they were the equal of the British. A cursory knowledge of Naval history disproves this. Why would anyone comment on a subject they had zero knowledge of? I don't go onto videos about formula 1 racing and make wild comments based on feelings, so why do it here? Just wierd.
10:30 Only the first 3 ranks fire. It's so odd why they didn't put the "fire by rank" mechanic into Napoleon. It was the standard infantry tactic in that period.
Just a little correction, what you called "fire by row" is actually "fire by rank," and what you called "fire by rank" is what would be known as "platoon firing." Loved the video!
Actually platoon fire was when the battalion fired by platoons which resulted in ripple fire across the line. by platoons which meant that a continuous fir ewas kept up .
not hating the players, but that was one of the calmest battle in Total War that i have ever seen, its almost like watching AI battle but hey, its a great battle
The reason why the United States player brought the "artillery" so close to the British was because it was a Puckle gun, which was a very old machine gun-esque weapon.
Swing like a door at 15:18. Chamberlain said that on the movie Gettysburg on the Little Round Top sequence. "We are going to swing like a door." Textbook envelopment rolling their flank.
