- Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma challenged the president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters to a fight in a tense moment during a Senate hearing on Tuesday. The confrontation occurred during a hearing on labor unions held by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. Sean O'Brien, the head of one of the nation's largest and most influential unions, was appearing as a witness.

As an owner of businesses, if this happened at my place of employment, I would reprimand the employees, send them home but I WOULD NOT FIRE them! A lesson the American people have seemed to have forgotten, judging by the comments. When I was a kid, when you ran your mouth about people, even behind their back, they always found out and you got dealt with. Eventually people learned and spoke with respect because they learned the consequences for doing otherwise. If we did that more often, things might be a little more civil, because the cowards would know that nobody is protecting them and being a being a punk gets you hurt.
If a punk gets beat a half dozen times and nobody tries to stop them, how likely do you think they will be to run their mouth, insult or threaten that same person again ? I've seen such situation and after the first or second time, they were as respectful as a life coach and terrified to say anything out of line even behind closed doors for fear the person would hear about it. Lesson is, stop protecting punks hiding behind professional terminology and the excuse of being a pacifist.
Run your mouth, back it up or get dealt with.
