@@ampollard7041 Well, they were her family. She also had a younger sister and brother too.. I suppose once they were willing to accept my dad as family, why not? I wouldn't even have known it happened if Mom had not told me. It was a bit difficult for me when they did divorce, but never because of my grandparents, mostly just having to do holidays divided between the two sets got exhausting. Mom was really the only one who couldn't handle it after that. Grandparents never said a bad word about Dad to me ever.

I don't even know why this would be considered unusual. I could understand if this was 40+ years ago but even then it was a thing (just kept lowkey). Even during the 1800's, there are stories of interracial couples (between whites and free blacks) but they kept it secret (for obvious reasons).
But nowadays it's widely accepted and that "keep to your own" mentality is pretty much dead.
I've dated girls of all ethnicities and economic backgrounds. I have "mixed" nieces and nephews, my mother and stepfather were a "mixed" couple, etc.
It shouldn't be an issue. We're all the same species, all the same race. We only look different (ethnically) due to environmental adaptations.

Me (white) and my husband (black) are luckier than most. My mom is a hippy who loves everyone & my mother in law is the sweetest, most caring women. Every couple of years we bring our families together at a local water park & have a cook out on the fourth of July!

Humm, from the motherland and I only discovered his comedy ( freedom of speech) in 2018 and Man I literally laugh at every single word he utters.
