Amidst the idyllic expanse of French farmlands, stands a stately manor house, its grandeur faded by the passage of time. For generations, this noble estate was the heart and soul of a dignified family. It was last called home by Mr. Jehan, his wife and their beloved three children.
But with the passing of patriarch Jehan came a bitter reality: the weight of inheritance taxes proved to be a burden too heavy for his children to bear. And so, the manor slipped into a quiet oblivion, leaving it a haunting monument of yesteryears.
The moment I stepped through the door of this once-grand property, I was transported back in time. Within its faded chambers lie echoes of a rich history - trailing old photographs, priceless antiques, and mementos of a life well-lived. Each corner holds a story waiting to be told, and a memory waiting to be relived.

the letter @ 15:00 was written in 1955 by the landowner , a nobleman to his daughter, he was worried that his family name would disappear after his death. he died in 1979. What is sad is that there are still family members alive who have allowed this heritage to deteriorate. @16:50, on the other hand, the electric meter is new!

A lot of people that have these huge homes have a small apartment fully furnished where they can stay. It saves on utilities and is much easier to manage. Especially when you get older.

It’s so tragic that these incredible buildings are left to die and be reclaimed to the earth. Why was so much beautiful furniture and portraits left l gosh made me feel sad and like I need to win a massive lottery buy it and the furniture and restore it to glory. ,

What caught my eye was the first set of main stairs were so worn amzing if they could only talk of the past . The children the laughter and love of everyday life.Turly one of my favorites Mureno. Hi Maureno you comb most every detail which is how we get a glimpse into the world as it once was, Many families used to be able to maintain the farm and keep the home through out generations. But mis managed ways of life crowded out simplicity in certain ways, Some new rules made it hard financially for remaining family members to commit to staying on and the curiousness in development of making things different and hard to come by. So relaxing to enjoy your visit through here👍💖🥰❣️

Esta casa señorial es realmente fascinante. Una vez más hay que lamentar que una familia perdiera su hogar por no pagar los impuestos y que todos esos objetos increíbles quedarán abandonados al paso del tiempo, la naturaleza y los vándalos.
Como tu bien dices Maureno, esta casa es una de las que más fotografías y retratos guarda, todos muy hermosos.
Las familias antiguas acostumbraban a poner en los muros de sus casas todos los retratos de sus antepasados como una forma de honrarlos.
En el periódico del año 1966, se menciona a Soraya, la esposa del Sha de Irán que fue repudiada por no poder darle un hijo. Recuerdo haber leído su dramática historia.

At 10:30- that is most likely an estate made armoire/ buffet. I say that because the hardware locking the doors matches the hardware on the far outside door. Check it out. I have to say...this construction was made by a master craftsman. The outside door panels are carved with more decorations than normal. It has double carved curves in the panel separations. Truely unique. Exquisite. Thank you! This is a wonderful tour. Its so nice that that there are arent any distractions like people in the way of the all the treasures.

As Serb, I have to say that for me,there is not logical reason to left behind all that family memories.
In our culture,when you're moving you gonna take with you everything that you actually can.
I could understand that sometimes there' s no technical capacity to took everything with you during the removal, but to left behind all that family photos,that is something out of my logical capacity.

Maureno and Remon. I will see the video tomorrow. Today we were helping my daughter Natalia to change again of apartment in San Diego. My husband drove to south 5 hr in the morning and after finishing to help her . We were returned to Bakersfield and again 5 hr to stay in the Freeway. 😊❤👍
