the pumpkin "coasters" might be tea bag coasters! they're usually really shallow but still have a little dip in them so any leftover tea doesn't run over the edge
They could be for general kitchen use, such as a place to put a spatula down when cooking or stirring, or for spoons after making coffee or tea, etc I often use a very small plate for my spatula when making scrambled eggs, and/or pan fried potatoes... and now I'm HUNGRY 🤣
Rae and Ariel I believe the pumpkin “coasters” are spoon coasters for when you are making stew or soup or something. They typically go near the stove so when you’re cooking and have to stir something you have a place to put your messy spoon and not mess up your counter. Does that make sense?
I was convinced that the pumpkin coasters are tea bag coasters (see comment left previously by valentin9214). However, now I'm thinking you might have a point about the spoons. 🥄This is going to keep me up at night!
Howdy, James might like The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender. It's plotless, magical realism-ish, not-really-but-kinda-fantasy. I love the pumpkin thingies. I like to use those kind of dishes for all sorts of things. To hold a teabag you might use again, to hold the sandwich knife you might use again, to deliver a little snack of goodies to a loved one, to rest a spoon while cooking, a place to put my spare key/those keys that you don't use all the time. I also use them to put those liquid cat treats on for my cats. I don't think they have one specific purpose.
Those little coaster things look like something you could put a couple of pieces of chocolate on (or nuts, or fruit, something small) to go next to your cup of tea.
this was so much fuuunnnn :) yes! I love the quarterly updates ! and those giftsss...! and the Mamo story! hahah thanks! such a wholesome podcast you have here
I loved Mamo! Great witchy gift! Also, Raeleen, I just found out Nick Frost just released a cookbook/memoir like Taste called A Slice Of Fried Gold. So far, I can't find any canadian retailers that carry it so it may need to be shipped in from the UK.
ooh that Kafka book seems very interesting and quite short. and oh man I just read Rebecca, im really excited to know what Raeleen thinks about it! I feel conflicted because I loved it but i also feel like i was lied to about it being an autumn mood read lol
I'd love recommendations to similar books that James was looking for also ( ones like Piranesi, Jonathan strange, etc), those are my favourite types of books and it's so difficult to find more! "Italo Calvino" has a book called "Invisible Cities" and another called "Marcovaldo" that feel similar (especially the first one). Just in case he sees this.
Thought this was funny, I'm only 7 minutes into the video, but as Ariel was pulling out the first gift she goes "oh it's a crocheted" and then it cut to an ad where someone says 'kit kat' immediately. lol. I wasn't watching the screen, so I was like what? haha :)
I’ve lived in the city for years I’m shocked they don’t know about street cleaning days? Is that not a thing somehow in the country or Canada? It’s such a normal here one US.
But can audio books be read? The clue is in the descriptor. We listen to audio books. Listenning with one's ears is completely and utterly different than reading with one's eyes. I'm baffled about the reluctance of audio book consumers to say they 'listenned' to an audio book.

Ding ding ding!🔔 Tea bag coasters is (probably) the correct answer.

Since shes got 3 pumpkins, she can totally use one for soap, one for spoons and one for teabags! 😆
Brilliant plan!@@my_cha
"To just become a wheel" ❤ Now I have to go outside to see if I still got it 😂

When you said you didn't care for Practical Magic movie my head instantly went whaaat (in a Scooby-Doo voice) haha. That's one of my favourite movies.
This was so much fun ❤ love the updates about your resolutions too!
