Dude, first of all the kit sounds incredible, BUT MAN, YOUR PLAYING!!!! Amazing, relaxed, effortless and MUSICAL!
Wow, thanks! Kind of you to say 🙏
Holy Cow - outside of SONOR this is the most gorgeous sounding kit i've ever heard. 👀
Thanks for checking it out! 🙏 I’m a huge Sonor fan too 👊
Very nice good luck with them enjoy and it was great to see how excited the other person was to see you receive them
Ahh my wife! Yes, she’s a keeper ❤️
Absolutely I bought a new Tama set last year and my wife had the same reaction it’s a nice feeling
Oh that’s great. Yeah a supportive partner is such a blessing 👊
They are beautiful, love the snare. The sound is even better 😊
👍 Thanks so much! 🙏🏻
AMAZING & GREAT TUNED DRUM R ALWAYS A “HIT”! Awesome chops and ghost notes.
Thanks! 🙏
looks as good as it sounds, very nice kit
Cheers Dean 👍
The drums look and sound amazing, but I was completely distracted by how beautiful those Paistes sound! The Masters series really is special.
Hey thanks! 🙏 I’ve played Paiste since 1992. I’m not endorsed so most of the masters I bought through marketplace. They hold up, they are not fragile and sonically they fill a great space in the Paiste catalog 👍
Me too!
Beautiful looking and sounding! Good for you!
Cheers Chris! 🙏
Congratulations on your kit. Excellent job mixing as well. I plan on grabbing this same kit. Stunning finish!
Hey thanks Kevin! 🙏 Let me know how you go 👊 They are amazing drums.
Superbly stunning looks and sound! I want that color!!
👍 Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
Congratulations on such a beautiful instrument. They sound sooo incredible. I'm a huge fan of the Brooklyn sound as well. Great choice.
Hey thanks! Kind of you to say 🙏
The drums sounds amazing! You play awesome bro congratulations
Oh man thank you 🙏
What a color that is stunning
Pretty great huh! I’m so happy with it 👍
@@GlennWilsonDrums ahh ya u Think. Well I would say enjoy but I believe that is a given.
@@GlennWilsonDrums is that like a blue satin mist
@@stevenfederico2594 SATIN ICE
BLUE METALLIC 👊
Great video. The satin ice blue finish is stunning and the drums sound as good as they look. I too own a 6pc Brooklyn kit in the Expresso Burst wrap from Steve Maxwell. Other than switching out the snare and kick batter head, I use the factory stock heads on the toms. I’m very well pleased. Congrats again on the new kit!
Fantastic, I have the Brooklyn’s in Vintage Cream Oyster . Sound Fantastic
Oh, I love that finish. Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
Great playing! Awesome sounding and looking kit. Perfect Sound for your Style. Have fun with it!
Hey thanks! Kind of you 🙏 Yeah I’m loving them 👍
Great video!! Great drums and sounds.
Thanks so much Stuart! 🙏
Gretsch are the best!! I might try your head set up??
Do it! 😂 Evans UV2’s on the batters. UV1 on the snare. Stock Gretsch heads on the reso (I will change these out to G1’s when I get a chance). 👍
This kit looks gorgeous! 🤩
Thanks man! 👊
Great looking (and sounding) kit, Glenn. Congrats!
Thanks Bryan! 🙏🏻
Sounds absolutely amazing! And the ls208 is very nice..
Thanks a lot!🙏🏻
Man beauriful kit! I want a broadkaster or a usa custom pretty badly myself lol.
Cheers man. I'd love a USA too! Thanks for watching! 🙏
Love it! Id like to get my hands on a brooklyn set
Cheers! Thanks for watching! 🙏
Wow, they sound nice. Would love that finish in a gun metal gray.
👍 I think that was a thing!?! I could be wrong.
Bello/Magnifico.💎💎💎💎💎💎
🙏
best color available, imo. Great set.
👍
The Cure! Nice!
👍🙏
Your drums sound phenomenal. I also have a Brooklyn kit in satin cherry red. Just curious if you had any trouble seating the Evans heads on the toms. I love Evans G1s but they are compressed by the hoops such that when I took the rim off the head came with it and I had to push it out of the hoop, which is too bad because I prefer the G1s. Thanks and cheers from Kentucky!
Oh I love satin cherry red! Yeah the hoops can be out of round. It’s not hard to get them back to round though. You just have to be a bit careful. Totally worth doing though I reckon as the tension will be all off otherwise. Thanks for checking out the video! 🙏
Man this kit sounds good !!!
Cheers! 👍
I've really been thinking of picking up gretsch snare recently
👍 The COB is a beast! 🤩
The kit looks great!
🙏👍
Unbelievable!!!
👊
Congrats!!Beautiful sounding kit Glenn.I'm going to order a Gretsch kit this year. In the past, I've owned Gretsch Usa Custom kits. How would you compare the brooklyns to the USA series? Thanks for the wonderful inspirational playing.
Hey thanks David! Really appreciate it. I don’t have much experience with the USA customs. I only hired a set for one weekend. Honestly if I had a blind test, I’m not sure I could tell the difference, I’d need more time with them. I would like to order a USA custom kit down the track (if I can ever afford it) in maybe some deeper sizes which is not possible with the Brooklyn as the sizes are fixed . This is why they are at a lower price point. Let me know how you go! 👍
@@GlennWilsonDrums Thanks for your input Glenn!!
Nice, Glenn. When can I come over? 😊
Ha ha 🤘 I was thinking I might try a live stream if I can get my act together 🤷♂️ What do you think?
Absolutely. Do it. 👍🏼
dream kit.
👍 Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
Love it!
Is it 13x13 tom you have there?
13x9 this guy 👍
Great tone and playing. Congrats. What´s the nice piccolo snare/tom you play at 3:20?
Thanks! The snare is a Gretsch 5.5x10 Blackhawk Mighty-Mini. Entry level snare but it sounds great and has a Tom bracket on it. 👍
4:06 Untitled by The Cure! Nice.
👊Slightly obscure for a video like this I know but one of my all time favorite records. Thanks for noticing 🙏
DID VINNIE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOO DECISION ON THE OWNERSHIP OF THAT DRUMSET AND CYMBAL CHOICE ??
No. But Vinnie is very important to me 👊
I dig that Masters 20" Dark Crash. Are you happy using it as a ride? Does it work well for you?
I do ride on it but I think the dark crash/ride is better from a ride point of view. I have a 20, I reckon a 22 would be fantastic 👍 The dark crash is a beauty though, the wash is stunning.
@@GlennWilsonDrums Thank you for the reply. The Dark crash/ride is too washy for my taste. I'm asking because I'm not quite satisfied with my Signature Mellow Ride 20". It functions well as a ride, but it's a bit difficult to crash (though it's much better in this regard than the Signature Full Ride). Could you recommend any Paiste cymbal other than the Masters Dark Crash/Ride that is a) easy to crash, b) works well as a ride, and c) has a great bell? Thank you.
@@JanusJanavas Absolutely, the bluebird is a beautiful ride with all the characteristics you’ve mentioned. I’ll make a video of mine 👍
@@GlennWilsonDrums Thank you! I appreciate your reply. I will check it out and look forward to seeing the video.
Great sounding kit. Do you notice a big difference between the 302 rims and the basic 1.6mm triple flanged rims on the Catalina club?
So I just put the Brooklyn hardware on the Catalina to test this out. I think the Catalina’s are very finely tuned for the light hardware. In fact, they weighed the same as the Brooklyn kit with the hardware swapped, which was surprising. Yeah I don’t know, I’m gonna keep testing… I’ll keep you posted 👍
The brooklyns weighed the same? Interesting. I’m sure there’s a difference in feel when playing them. I’ll be ordering a cat club soon enough and was contemplating buying 12 and 14” 302 rims to put on. I’ll never have the money for a high end kit like that but I think those rims are visually very cool. So could be a cheap way into tricking myself!
I’ll swap them over and make a video. I’m dead curious to understand what the hoops and rims actually do. 👍
@@Gavdrums- You hit the nail on the head! I had the same plan (Catalina & adding 302 hoops). I was also considering putting ‘silver sealer’ on the shell interiors.
@@GlennWilsonDrumsI’ve read , for snares at least, that heavy rims can stifle a drum a little. Die cast hoops are preferred by some while prefer the lighter 1.6mm hoops as the snare is ringier, more resonant. Never had the means to a/ b it but also never heard how that effect translates to toms. Guess it’s a similar principle. Heavier hardware takes the sound a bit. The sounds like a drum channel go deep on stuff like this but don’t think they’ve done this exact thing
elle est belle ta batterie
👍
they sound amazing
Cheers! Thanks for watching! 🙏
