OMG! That camera is sooo steady thru that ride! I hadn't been on it in 10 years and just took my 3yr old and couldn't believe how bumpy it was! We love that ride so thank for allowing us to participate from home!
This brings back some fun memories of my childhood. same music waiting in line.. I remember watching a kid getting his head stuck in the fence.. This is one of my favorite Disney rides.. I get home sick watching .. Thanks for the ride.
I havent been on this ride since 1988, Wow thanks for the memories!! I grew up in southern Cali, and moved away in 79. I loved this ride when i was a kid!!
man....its been like 2 or 3 years that i havent gone to Disneyland, seeing this types of vids make me feel happy because i feel chills on my back, like if I'm really there :]
This still looks fun. I remember riding it as a kid. I didn't know that it is one of the first steel rail rollercoasters. This ride proves that a coaster doesn't have to be big to be fun.
This was my first rollercoaster. I went on it when i was 4...it was somewhat scary, and the Yeti-thing gave me a nightmare. But after riding it a few times i would pass by it saying "Hi Mr. Yeti!" :) I'm paying my first visit to that yeti since 1999, in two days. I'm super stoked!
I'm from canada and im going in september.. I went as a child and I know im gonna enjoy it even more now that im 18.. I really respect the USA for having these kinds of opportunities for everyone! God bless the USA.
That's awesome! This is one of the few rides at Disneyland I haven't ridden. It was nice to see a 'preview' of it, since the reason I have never ridden it is because of being terrified of roller coasters. I did ride Space Mountain in 1996 at Disneyworld (first time!) and I rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad there as well. LOVED that ride. So from this video, I guess there aren't any sudden drops on the Matterhorn? That's what terrifies me the most! Going fast around corners is fine!
this ride is plain fun. this one and space mountain. space mountain became my new all time favorite and ive been to a six flags before and have some favorites there before. i just cant belive i used to be scared of those two rides when i was little, wish i wasnt cause i missed out.
Very true. That's exactly why I go on it! If it didn't have all the thrills, I wouldn't go on it four times in a row, like I'm planning to do this Tuesday.
this ride is the FREAKIN BEST. i'm usually terrified of roller coasters but i found this ride SOOO FUNN so dont be scared to go on itt!!!! U'LL REGRET IT IF U DONT
my brother and i got stuck on this back in 2000. thank goodness it was one of the outside parts and not inside the creepy cave. they let us ride again without even getting off. :D
oh right. This is at Disneyland I have been to both parks but live in Florida now. This one is somewhat like ThunderMountain. which is one of my favorites..
@getmeakitkat there are two sides of the loading dock and having two tracks helps to accommodate multiple trains on the same track at the same time (the Matterhorn Bobsleds was the first to do that).
@littlecreek94 The left side has slightly rougher turns and one drop towards the end. Right had smoother turns, and the abominable snowman appears twice. While on the left, he appears three times. Oh and right has a better view of the crystals in that one part of the cave cause you go right past them. That's mainly it.
Several years ago, I rode a half-assed version of this at Astro World in Houston TX. Of course, it couldn't compare with the real thing especially since the mountain was tiny compared to the Matterhorn. Astro World has since closed.
i cant remember this ride very well (last time i went on it was before space mountain was closed down) but im hoping to go on next time i go here! which should be in the spring with one of my best friends. i will either have to force her to go on this, or it might be the other way around, because we'll be making a beeline for space/thunder mountain lol!!
Space Mountain is my favorite ride there and when I was last at Disneyland, in September/2003, they were remodeling it. I was so pissed and really wanted to ride! But the Matterhorn was at least open ;)
I'm going on May 31st with my school and my mom as a chaperone so when me, my mom, and my two friends go on Mattehorn im going to tell me friends when were going up the hill in the beginning to scream as loud as we can. Screaming makes the rides worth wild! haha
i go at least once a month for the past four years and hundreds of times in my 16 years of life there's always been water i always go on the left, but i'm pretty sure they have it on the right too it never gets the riders wet, it's like the one on big thunder mountain, just there for show really, add to the 'MAGIC'

dude. Cal is the place to be! I love it here. oceans, mountains, snow, great weather, cities. You gotta love it.
This still looks fun. I remember riding it as a kid. I didn't know that it is one of the first steel rail rollercoasters. This ride proves that a coaster doesn't have to be big to be fun.
I've been riding coasters ever since! But this one definitely has a special place in my heart.
u know what would make this ride a lil more fun and exiting? epic music! i love the way it is now but it would be even more fun!
I never get tired of this ride!!
I remember this! It's one of the few roller coasters I've ever been on, and it was really cool!
I LOVE THIS RIDE! It is my second favorite ride at disneyland.
This was my first rollercoaster. I went on it when i was 4...it was somewhat scary, and the Yeti-thing gave me a nightmare. But after riding it a few times i would pass by it saying "Hi Mr. Yeti!" :)
I'm paying my first visit to that yeti since 1999, in two days. I'm super stoked!
I love this ride, a true classic!!!
