So I was away for a week in the US recently and decided to take a box of Russian Winter Infantry with me to while away the boring hours of inability to sleet to start my new Stalingrad Bolt Action army project. That mutated into a sort of 10 day painting challenge to see and show you how many figures I can paint to a wargames standard in just 10 days.
The result:
65 infantry figures
6 dogs
2 vehicles
a heavy mortar and crew
a MMG and crew
What can you do?
Cracking video Dom, batch painting production 101! This definitely demonstrates what you can achieve when you have a defined painting process that gets armies to the tabletop in a really short space of time. Additional red star earned for the term 'Snoopy hat' :D
Thanks. Yeah they might not have all the details others give them but they look fine from 3 foot and even when you pick them up and I am content. Helps me blast through my backlog too!
The three foot rule is always the first thing in my mind when I've finished a unit. Anyone that gets closer than that deserves a 000 brush in the eye :D
I like that philosophy!
I' m not sure it would be a good defence in court though :P
Very nice video, Dom. That was a successful 10 days. Your figures looks really well.
I also like the poses of these figures. They look very natural. Greetings, Joachim
Cheers Joachim. I think I'll have to ease off after that number!
Nice one Dom. Must admit I thought the contrast paint would look wrong over the green undercoat but they turned out nice
Yeah I am not sure how it works but it does!
Great video Dom. Was fantastic to put on whilst painting. PVA on the hands. Takes me back to school assembly after Tech class lol.
Oh yes, picking that glue off your fingers all day! Dont get me started on wax either.....
Great looking figures Dom, they do look cold with the winter theme 👍 😁
That's the aim mate! I plan to take them up to Warlords for their Stalingrad themed even in April
Brilliant video Dom! Great work!
cheers buddy
Interesting to see how the contrast paint worked, the wash helped a lot.
yeah I have been a huge user of contrast paints after being a huge doubter. They are not great for all things, but a mix of contrast and normal paints works for me these days
Hey Dom. Great video kept me entertained while at my desk at work great stuff.
beats Solo I guess ;)
Nice work on the miniatures, someday I'll get around and add some winter troops to my Russians
Stalin demands it!
Wonderful figires dom,i now need to buy some russians
always another project!
