GIVEAWAY WINNER - Congrats Bob McGregson for winning the Soviet army! ☺☺
I hope you guys enjoyed the video! I'm so happy to finally have an army (with a little more work to do).
Ollie, Congratulations on completing the 24 hour challenge and an entertaining video. The icing on the cake would be to beat Grim in a Bolt Action game WITH your the Polish. On behalf of the M4H Team, our beneficiaries and their families, thank you ever so much for your honest, meaningful support.
These look great and a nice little change of pace from the GW models.
Never thought of using the airbrush for the base khaki colors. Great idea!
Never painted anything like these before, I should give it a shot sometime
Well good luck with the draw 😀
Don’t forget to like and comment to appease the almighty algorithm 👍🏼
Thanks man!
I was gutted for you when your previous army was stolen, so really pleased that you have a new Polish army to be proud of. Nice one mate!
Thanks buddy! 😀
I haven't played Bolt Action but after seeing this and getting the free US marine sprue from this month's Wargames Illustrated I might have to look into it.
Do! I've not played for a few years, but excited to get back into it. 😀
Hadn't heard of the charity, its nice to see our hobby helping people when they really do need it.
I agree. Its great to find ways to help people. If I can help, even better. 😀
Keep up the good job brotha love the reason for doing this!!
Thanks so much! 😀
Good effort . Well done . And viola . A proxy imperial guard regiment .
Nice video! Really enjoyed it, and I wouldn't mind something to paint, but best of luck to everyone!
Very kind, so in return, best of luck to you too!
Looks cool!
I loved this video like all of yours.
Thank you 😊
Such a complicated matter, often you are expected to be there for your Familie no matter how you feel even If you are going trough hard times
Very true.
Always like a nice giveaway
Thank you for this video
Such cool video pal!
Thank you!
WITNESS ME!
You shall receive the mothers milk!
Been meaning to give Bolt Action a go for a while now, cool stuff!
Welcome to another video and another 24 Hr painting challenge. I love depriving myself of sleep and taking on massive painting projects. We got it this time!! Let's go!!
Haha, sleeping is weakness. 😅
Models for Hero’s... first I heard of this charity but I am totally on board... hah punny! This hobby and painting models has helped me so much through dark times and will always be a hobby I maintain. Also I am Polish and my grandfather was a machine gunner so this video rocks!
Oh thats amazing.. maybe they met, who knows?! 😀 I'm the same man, hobby has always been there, no matter what else is going on in life.
I juet got into wargaming around 2 months ago. Winning the prize would be really cool!
Really nice job ! Greatings from Poland :)
We need Bolt Action Plastic Italians!
This looks awesome I also want to start a Polish Bolt Action army but kind of don't know where to start.
For the story of the Polish Cav charging tanks that is German propaganda. What really happened was the Polish infantry was being suppresed by the German troops and coudn't move so the Cav charged the enemy guns so that the Infantry could pull back. While the Cav troops where fighting the German troops some German tanks came in to support their troops killing the Cav troops.
Good video and a good cause what more could you ask for (except maybe cake)
Mmm.. cake.
Ayy first 5, awesome video, well done 👍
Every time I see a video now I just see a hand coming through that hole in the studio. Great job as always. Cheers!
Haha, the wall hole.. ah itll be missed sort of. 😅
Also, I heard you say your old army got stolen. I bought one off eBay that was painted similar to the color choices you used. If you want to contact me privately I can send you a picture.
Its be interesting to see if they were my old bois, if they are, at least they'd be at a new home. 😀
How would I send you a picture?
do you find airbrush zenithaling large projects like this makes ya finger start to cramp? dunno if its just coz im getting old, but currently doing the value gradient on a nighthaunt force and i keep having to stop and say "its the claw"
Oh 100%. I get paint neck and claw hand now. I've started using spray cans more now, then running thin paints through thte airbursh, especially on large projects like this. :)
Great job Olly. Your models look very good. I've never done any WW2 stuff in 28mm, though I do quite a lot of scale model aircraft in 1/72.
Thank you very much. I've got a bit to do to them, which I'll do this week. Highlights, metals, more on the bases etc, but not too far off. 😀
I enjoyed doing these, you should give them a go..who knows, you might win a bolt action set. 😀
I was literally just asking around the local gaming group if anyone played Bolt Action! Always loved the soviet tank designs, fingers crossed I'll win!
Good luck! and yeah, you've got to love the massive Soviet tanks 💪
You were talking about the studio you work in but the cement wall is a really good looking backdrop
I know, its so good.. its jsut horribky cold and ruins everything (which is why inlook awful in this video 😅). Ill miss the wall.
Yeah thats too bad
Got the british airborne starter and I'm nearly half way through after more than 30 hours of work. Nice painting! Looks like I need an air brush aswell.
You can do it!
Great content ! Always loved Bolt Action but never been able to get the miniatures. I am crossing my fingers !
Well let's see if we can sort that! Someone has to win, so good luck dude! 😀
Well done finally 1k painted in 24hrs ish lol
Another good effort especially in 24hrs, looking forward to next months challenge 🤣🤣😉
... oh god.. Did someone say Kings of War? 😅
Always loved WW2 and miniatures and its shameful I only found out about Bolt Action about a year ago, it would be cool to build and paint the Soviets Finest
Well good luck! 😀
My mate has tried getting me into bolt action for months...maybe this is the push to get some games in after lockdown? Best of luck with the charity challenge, and keep these challenge painting vids coming!
Its a grear system, I've not played it for ages, but im looking forward to getting stuck in again.😀
Great video, makes me want to paint up my bolt action.
I think i may have to try a 24 hour paint-a-thon. i work in the emergency services. i also have a spare astra militarum valhallan Commander chenkov metal miniature if i can donate it somehow?
Theyre tough going, but can really make a dent in an army (painting wise). I think give it a few days and get them finished a couple of days later, then youre done. 😀 Oh thats a great model, maybe get in touch with models4heroes and see if they can do anything. 😀
As much as I love 40k and AOS it’s great to see another gaming system. Video has convinced me to give this a go 👍
Thats excellent. 😀 Bolt Action is a really good game, with a good system.. I highly recommend.
This is very cool I'm loving the 24 hour videos
Just love your 24h videos, it's really awesome you can do 24 hours of painting.
Ah thanks so much. 😀
The reddish earth really complements the khaki uniforms, great choice :D
Thanks buddy! 😀 I'm definitely going to add more to the bases, just to make them look fancy.
Love the vids would love to see more bolt action stuff 😁
I really enjoyed watching this and talking to both you and the gents from Grim Dice Tabletop Gaming. You need to work on Belgians next.
Yeah, a nice Ardennes army 👌 Thank you for all the support and staying up with us, it really helped keep us going. 😍
I didn’t know about this charity. What a great cause, thanks for sharing.
Well there we go, if a few people learn about it, even better 😀
Nice work Olly! Great backstory with Grandpa Bob, and such a great cause :) keep up,the great work!
Thanks man! 😀 Yeah, he'd be proud.. never popped his head out again. 🤣
Great job Oli. Enjoyed watching as always. 😊
Awesome, well done mate, I did miss a bit more shots of the 'finished' army though, would have like to see a bit more. And I was a bit worried about all the colours before the end, but the washes made them come really nice together, it looked great!
There is a still a bit more work to do, but not a lot of time needed. I'll finish them up this week I think, then they can move to the display cabinet in the new studio. 😀 ill be posting lots of pics in social media when they're done, so you'll be able to have a good look then.
Madlad doing 24h painting challenges! Kings of War next? :p
I did think about it.. do I? 🤔 No.. I mean.. I could 😅
Well done! In can be so difficult to work in the time pressure, but you earned the "and a bit" to see it done.
Still a bit more "and a bit" to get them finished 😅, but I'll do then this weekend. Then they've officially earned their place on the display shelf. 😀
Cool I need to get painting my american army as well. Good luck on the charity challenge.
Thanks buddy! Yeah, get stuck in, it only takes 24(ish) hours. 🤣
Awesome challenge. These challenges are getting better and better. Keep up the good work.
🤜🤛
It's about time you blocked up that hole in that wall..?. :-)
Haha, I left it open for the video, just for fun.😀
Interesting video, I guess you're a glutton for punishment. I couldn't imagine bashing out a bolt action army without simply just spraying the uniform colour on first, the fact you go full on with the zenifel hightlighting is impressive with a speed painting challenge. Good job.
Haha yeah, I do love punishing schemes..happy with the results though, in the end.
A few hours of work left, just adding some details and highlight onto them. 😀
@@BroadswordWargaming Can't wait to see the finished force in field on one your slick multi shot bat reps.
Models for heros are an absolutely amazing charity! Its fantastic news that a UA-camr with as many viewers as you is giving them some light!
Cheers!
Thanks! Im not massove by any means, but always happy to be involved in a bideo promoting something good. 😀
Great job on the charity stream
I'm never going to do one of these "Paint X miniatures in X hours" things myself, but I like watching other people do it. Nice work!
Great video Ollie, feeling quite inspired to get my Bolt Action British Paras clipped off the sprue and built up!! Thanks for the inspiration.
Yes, do it! I've got a British Para army say here too.. one day they shall get their turn. 🤔
@@BroadswordWargaming Yep, ive been putting them off for too long! Also have a Sarrisa Horsa to build. Might be my next lockdown project. Thanks again for the inspiration.
Bolt action looks fun. Reminds me of playing Close Combat on the PC. The Pegasus Bridge set is once if my dream mini purchases
That is a massive set too.. do it 😀
@@BroadswordWargaming I will. It's just a matter of time..
Good job Oli! Loved the family link to the army choice. Keep up the good work 👍
Funny coincidence, I've started watching Your channel for Kill Team content, and lately I've been interested in Bolt Action.
Fingers crossed
Great minds! Be prepared for more of both. 😀
I don't think I could do 24 hours, but good on you using your gifts to help charity!
Love watching these 24 hr videos
Always fancied a go of bolt action! They came out great in the end!
Thanks! Good luck 😎
Great video... looking forward to seeing them on the tabletop.
Thanks buddy! I cant wait to have a game.. must get Grim Dice over for a game against the Russians. 😀
Hey do you plan to make a kill team faction focus video about demons of chaos?
I do indeed! 😀I've got Deathwatch and Tau in the pipeline, then it's a free-for-all after that. I'll finish them all though, as I want the full set 😎
have my first troops ready to paint
It just shows what can be done when you set your mind to it.
Good job!
Thanks! 😀
Brilliant charity and great content
I have an bolt action army based on my Grandfathers experience in WW2 as well. It was in my pile of shame but I have brought it out of the pile and I started building it up tonight! Thanks for the inspiration!
Amazing, its grest to see so many people use their real life as inspiration. 😀 What are you painting?
You're a real trooper dude, don't think I've got it in me to do ONE 24 hour challenge, let alone three or four, keep up the good work.
Haha, im just s glutton for punishment. I find them to be useful ways to get me painting my hoards of grey, as I never have the time to paint unless its for a video. 😀
Hat's off for another challenge. Braver man than me! I'll help out just by donating! How's the new studio fundraiser going?
Thanks! Its going really well, im blown away by the support people have shown. Ive got the keys and made some plans. Its going to be quite the redecorate and fit, but hopefully it'll look great. 😀
@@BroadswordWargaming Nice! Bring some good old fashioned hobby sophistication to the wilds of Ireland!
@@huwtindall7096 haha, ill try. FARMERS WARGAMING
Even unfinished they look amazing!
Thanks! I'll have a good go this week to make sure I finish them off, then they can move to the display cabinets in the new studio. 😀
This is absolutely fantastic Oli and what a great cause it was for. Can definitely see you are becoming more comfortable with these challenges and your airbrushing skills. Given I am still waiting for my own Bolt Action army to arrive I can wait to crack on with mine when they arrive.
Ah thanks buddy! 😊 Yeah, I definitely feel like I'm more proficient with an airbursh now, so I feel more confident to use it on stuff now.
Ooo, what army you waiting on?
You have a bit of masochism in you, don't you ? :)
Definitely haha.
A great cause, well done.
Just when I wanted to try to get into bolt action this video comes out to feed my need.
Boom, Internet win.
Some amazing looking models
A really important thing to be part of .
Madness in sues setting goals way ahead of the curve
Try, try and try again.. or something 😅
As for your painting challenges. You have to re-think your schedule. You give your self too many levels to complete the number of models. Look at Midwinter Minis Guy and his painting techniques for quick jobs. They still look parade ready standard and he did like 2000 points of Death Guard in 25 hours and they were not bad.
In Soviet Russia the models paint themselves.
🤣🤣
For the record, you are right. The Polish cavalry never charged tanks. Though the tanks they were engaged by were Pzr Kpw Mk II which were miniscule by even the Mk III & IV tanks the Germans had. What happened was the cavalry caught a German supply column in the flank and were tearing them a new one when the tanks showed up. The Cavalry were supported by machine guns by the way. A German news reel team came on the scene after the cavalry had withdrawn and made the story up for propaganda. No mention was made of the chopped up supply column.
Just as an aside, that little TKS tankette looks like the model with the 20 mm gun which was piloted by a heroic type who fought and destroyed a significant number of German tanks using ambush tactics. The Germans said the tank was so small and fast it was like trying to hit a cockroach.
hope once your set up in the new studio we can see some Blot Action battle reports need some new videos to watch when am on my bike haha.
Battle reports are definitely on the cards. 😀 There are a few players locally, so I'll have to get something going on the channel when lockdown is over and the new studio is sorted.
@@BroadswordWargaming well I can’t wait for it. Just hope no one calls a chat re-roll 😂😂
You are only going to be able to play it in 1939.....you should have British paratrooper to represent the Market Garden brigade. And there is actually a incident where the polish cavalry charged a motorised recon German unit (they had armoured cars) and almost broke them before the German recovered and pushed them back. There is a scenario in the Advanced Squad Leader module The Last Hurrah that allows you to play the engagement.
The real story behind the Polish cavalrymen is the tale of I believe C squadron, 18th Pomeranian Uhlans and the Charge at Krojanty. The 18th Uhlans were actually in the middle of conversion to the modern mechanized standard. Their A and B squadrons had already been converted to armored vehicles and was trying to get mounted up on the first day of the war. The still horse mounted elements of the 18th responded to a break through by elements of the Wehrmacht 76th infantry regiment, who'd broken the line of Polish border troops near them. The lancers rallied, and rode out to battle, catching a battalion of infantry at rest, they charged, and routed the German infantry.
This actually had massive impact on the initial campaign, as wild stories of Polish horsemen in the German rear terrorized the German logistical element and through quite the wrench in their works generally. Unfortunately for our heroic lancers of the 18th however, they too were caught at rest shortly after their charge by German armored cars, and many Uhlans and their mounts were cut down by machine gun fire as they rallied and fell back. It's the bodies of these fallen Polish heroes and their horses that the German propagandists showed to Italian newsmen and spun as stories of Polish cavalry charging the mighty tanks of the Wehrmacht.
Great effort and such a good cause! Wish I had time to do a 24hour challenge, I might make some progress that way!
Great to polish up my polish painting skills
Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
Good fun and good cause.
Id love to get involved with this
Next time I get something going, I'll make sure to see who's up for it. 😀
Poles were my first BA army. I used the vallejo paint set and it was like painting by numbers but took ages! These look cool! Good work and a great charity.
I´d be well chuffed to win som of the awsome gear. Might actually paint it up, and charity raflle it away in my national BA club.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm Interesting
Great video Fabian, always love watching. Being an ex para, do warlord make British paratroopers for the bolt action game?
yes they do and some of the range is currently on offer in the black friday section of there page
As George said, yes they do. 😀 I've got a full para army here, waiting for their turn. Thats grest! My brother is ex para, 2 squadron, so its a charity close to my heart. 😊
@@BroadswordWargaming ha I'm ex 2 para! Cheers for the reply👍
@@geordiemoss5587 cheers mate👍
It's nice to hear the money is going to charity
Yeah, its a great charity too 😀
Good job but the uniforms were dark khaki. But still nice
Cool. Got a German army commission in the que. Gonna use this for motivation.
