  • Steph Curry “absolutely” believes his 2017 Golden State Warriors could beat Michael Jordan's 1996 Chicago Bulls in 7-game series: “I’d say Dubs in 6”. Chris Broussard and Nick Wright decide whether or not they agree with Steph's hypothetical assessment.

@@ruelandrade5185 1996 Bulls would beat the 2017 Warriors in a 7 game series. It would be close but Jordan would probably be the deciding factor. SRS which computes a score given a teams margin of victory throughout the season adjusted for strength of schedule, basically measures how good a team was for a given season. Where an SRS score of 0 is average. 96 Bulls had an SRS of 11.80 and the 2017 Warriors had an SRS of 11.35, both are in the all time top 5 SRS's. Reddit users UnlikelyTicket created a metric using the SRS to rank the all time most difficult runs to a championship basically how difficult were your opponents. The 96 Bulls are ranked 14th and the 2017 Warrior are 21st. The 96 Bulls went 72-10 with an SRS score of 11.80 and the 14th most difficult championship run and won. Who is Steph guarding? Steph is gonna get exposed quickly. then there is Toni Kukoc and Dennis Rodman Toni covers Draymond and Toni pulls Draymond away from the basket because of his 3 point ability and his length and ball handling is a major problem and you put Dennis Rodman on KD and KD has a problem. if you think the NBAs greatest rebounder and defender who locked up Shaq at 350lbs can't guard 190lbs KD you are beyond delusional.

How is this a argument. That 2017 team is unbeatable. Players are more skilled now. That's just evolution. They would sweep them. Doesn't mean the 2017 is greater than the bulls, cause that's not the argument. The 2017 warriors are just better.

So many dynamics to consider here. The Warriors on paper have better players. The Bulls on the other hand had a better team. They turned up when it mattered. In a 7 game series with a Championship on the line we all know what MJ could do. The '17 Warriors are definitely a big headache for any team but if there's one team in history who could figure them out it would be the Bulls. I don't know if it boils down to luck, tact, destiny but those guys knew how to win.

Jordan is my goat but there is no way the bulls beat the 2017 warriors. They didn’t even play during the regular season. Then playoffs came and they STOMPED. The bulls get 2 games but you can’t lock up Kd. Steph will fold, but you have to respect him every time he gets the ball, then you got klay and iggy who can both shoot and defend.

The Warriors were able to come back and win that series against the Thunder because they kept starting Andre Roberson who the Warriors literally were not having to guard. It allowed his defender to clog the lane and double team KD and Westbrook and mucked everything up. It really didn't have anything to do with the Warriors it was just poor personnel decision by the Thunder coach. You're only as good as your weakest link and Roberson ultimately killed them.
