Dark Side of the Moon was on the Billboard top 100 album chart for OVER TEN YEARS !!!! Think about that for a minute.. Those chord changes resonated with the masses for over a decade... Possibly the best album ever in the history of albums...LOL:)

Damn, this was a brilliant insight. Love the tabs, and the way you describe the relationship between the notes as well. I’ve heard so many people talk about learning triads and how important they are. This really hit home just how many song melodies are just based around a triad! 🤯
@@AntoineMichaudGuitar Well, being a big fan of symphonic/atmospheric prog rock, any album from old Genesis, Yes or Camel would make me happy. This lesson just blew my mind!!! Your explanations of everything were so clear and concise and easy to understand. Thank you! Never thought I would ever get to this point of being able to play Pink Floyd but here I am. So exciting. I just got a new PRS.
Lovely, I thought I know these songs inside out but I still learned new and useful things from your video - Thank you! It also never occurred to me that I could play great gig in the sky on the guitar, but it sounded very good. Oh, and it helps that your guitar sounds great!

Amazing as always. I always play Cmaj7 with the G because I play acoustic and I think it sounds better. Floyd loves their Maj and Mi7ths. Because I am such a Floyd head, I gravitated towards the 7th. They just sound so spicy and full of life. Gilmore mastered placing them perfectly in the sonic soundscape.
Hi Antoine, I watch you video's almost every time, just to inspire my creative brain. I don'talways comment, but I am around 🙂. This one I have to omment, because I love David Gilmour. Your video makes clear that Gilmour doesn't use adult chords and other sophisticated stuff. But his tasteful pick of the "simple" chords combined with his timing and phrasing makes PF so very special. For example he uses a progression on which he very subtle goes from a C7 to a C7sus4 and just touches that sus4 for very short period of time...this sounds so tasteful. And that is what Gilmour is, tasteful and accessible. My sincer compliments on this video's! You analyze the chord shapes of the Dark Side album on a brilliant way and make the chords accessible for everyone. I also like your enthusiasm. Hope the video's work for you to reach new students. Take care! Greetings from the Netherlands.

Honestly I learned some of those songs off UA-cam videos but never knew the relationships or even the names of some of them. Great explanation and relating to where and what they are. Really hear each song when you play'em.
Definitely liking this video. Hahaha. Hey man. Incredible video. I love DG as you know. Heheh. He's why I switched to guitar after decades of drumming. It's something I always hoped to learn. So good for releasing anxiety.
Everyone is talking about your great teaching skills but your fluent, slick guitar playing deserves just as much credit. You make playing seem so easy!! My fingers just don't work like that but hopefully one day I can reach your level of mastery :)
Just a guess but I'm thinking Gilmore was looking to use that opening chords to The Who's Bargain(which had just come out a year before) sound. PETE towshend and Gilmore were good friends so I'm sure Gilmore was familiar with it.
This video.... so so so so good my man. Love it. And really really appreciate your work hear. More of these type videos if and when you're feeling in the zone for it would be greatly appreciated 😎
That's a big debate :-) Since the ''I'' chord almost never appears, I consider the ''ii - V'' to be ''i - IV'', the ''IV'' chord being a Dorian substitution. But in essence, yes, we're saying the same thing!
ANTONIE MICHAUD, make Top 10 chords by Robin Trower and SRV because SRV used these weird jazz chords. Robin Trower also used so unusual jazz chords 7th,9ths, etc with open strings. I have seen SRV use these jazz chords from 12th fret up to the 19th fret that are funky jazz blues chords.
