  • You are new on QO-100 and would like to work your first DX Station?
Our DX Station is Felix, DPØGVN it is a club station located at the German Antarctic Research Station in Antarctica.
Felix is a verry experienced DX-Operator for many years and he is working in “Split-Mode”. Split-Mode means, the DX-Station is transmitting on a fixed frequency, listen UP or Down on a variable frequency. In this case he is working "UP" whitch means higher than his transmitted frequency.
    1. Turn on you receiver.
    2. Switch your SDR into "Full-Duplex Mode" by adding a second receiver.
    3. Zoom into the range where your DX -Station is operating.
    4. Monitor your DX`s Transmissions and make shur you never transmit on the DX-Stations TX-Frequency.
    5. Try to search and tune the stations he`s he is curently in QSO.
    6. As soon as he finished QSO, call quick, and make shure, hearing you own transmission back from the Sattelite.
    7. If You can`t hear your own signals back, because of 1000 other Stations, stop transmitting!
    9. Never increase you transmitting Power just becaus of a pileup!
If you can't clearly hear yourself, the DX will not hear you too.
    10. Listen till he has picked you up ore parts of your call.
    12. As soon as you realiz he is calling you, answer and confirm your QSO
Your First QO-100 Satellite Split-DX-Contact will be in your Log!
