Dagestan, what a great tour Matt and Julia. The landscape, terrain and the architecture of the old deserted villages - all very similar to where I was based for sometime in Taif, Saudi Arabia in the beautiful Hijaz mountains. Many thanks to you both
@@RadikSharkasDagestan is just another Russian city. You know nothing about Russia 🇷🇺. Too much amurikan media full of nonsense. My father from Dagestan, google it, see it for yourself what country Dagestan belongs to
Loved the video :) The bit where they showed you the babushka making nut butter and then led you in the shop with the plastic wrapped jars was priceless though ;)
I'm sure I saw persimmons early in the video... 😀Dodgy roads? Indeed! 🤦♂ But the views of the Dagestan mountain wilderness takes one's breath away! Beautiful! That "long drop" toilet? I'd rather choose the open field. Gamsutl is absolutely a fairy tale village with stunning views. All the scenery in this video almost feels prehistoric. Why is that footbridge (on the way back from the waterfall) locked down? Thanks for this video, really wonderful content by a wonderful couple! ❤
Thanks for the video, I wish I had a head for heights because just watching that made my toes curl. Absolutely stunning scenery and so interesting. Stay safe 👍
День добрый, Мэт и Юлия! Спасибо вам за классные путешествия, за то, что вы ломаете стереотипы о многогранной России и заполняете информационный вакуум для всего мира. Это круто! С уважением, спасибо!
wow wow wow... I was checking out some youtube info on Dagestan and occasionally found that post! Going to be there in two weeks! Was a pleasure to see you two!
Great video. Thanks for showing us the beautiful landscape around Dagestan. What wonderful wild scenery. So wise to do all this touring while you are still young, and we (some of us oldies) are the beneficiaries of your experiences.
Been enjoying your videos for a couple of weeks now. You are a very delightful couple and the effort, work and joy you put into your videos is very evident. Thanks for the enlightenment and the entertaining education.
Hi Matt and Julia, great video! Make sure to get in touch with us when visiting Dagestan the next time. We would love to show you a couple of other amazing places in our wonderful region.
As always, Matt and Julia you bring much joy and fun to the places you visit. Dagestan, the mountainside is a thing of beauty. You never stop surprising us on your wonderful tours Julia, your smile and laughs make it all worth while.😁😁😁 Sending your lots of love.💖💖💖 Jim and Harriet . Richmond, Va.
Great video! Such a beautiful place and it looks so peaceful. Seeing the old abandoned villages just opens the imagination to what life was like there.
We are living in pushbutton lifestyle & everything can be delivered on our door , still many complains . Maybe they should try to camp on that abandoned beautiful village for a week , to realize how lucky we are now. I wish I can explore that village too , and the caved river .its beautiful!
That was a great tour, wonderful scenery. I'm surprised no one has moved into that village to restore it like they have in a lot of other countries like Italy ect
What an awesome tour. Nut butter being made, local foods and all the site you saw were amazing. I loved that you got to see things so natural and mostly hidden from most of the world. It looks like you had a day full of memories you will never forget. Thank you for taking us along. I am throughly enjoying going on all your travels with you; places I will probably never see in person. So thank you for all your hard work to share these adventures with us. ❤️🤗
When u guys were in that abendend vilige, and just sayng "wow this is beautifull, its just amazing" and ur eyes were looking all over the place, while the kamera was pointed at YOU 2 (not sayng it was a bad view, but...) I was like - why are they punishing us ?! But a cople of sec lather u redeem ur selves . Seriously though, magnificent place. Mather Nature is the best Artist.
Fascinating place - however at 12:16 ...... I've noticed quite a few well-known travel UA-camrs (mentioning no names, but including a very well known one who has visits Russia, plus a few others who go all over the world) ...... they DON'T seem to have a decent pair of walking boots or even "lightweight" i.e. ankle height walking shoes. Plenty of good brands to choose from, but avoid Magnum boots and Adidas GSG shoes/boots - the soles on them don't last.
Those are strange, wild mountains. They look like they were just formed or exposed and haven't had time for the rough edges to be worn down. They're all scraggly and sharp and barren looking. At first I thought it was an area that had been strip mined! They have to be some tough people to be able to live and thrive there.
What a unique and breathtaking (literally) experience! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Please don’t risk your lives filming for the channel! Maybe it looked more slippery than it was. You two are sure going to remember this one, I think! (Unless your brains are oxygen deprived, then…🤪) ❤️
Fascinating guys, thank you for this. And so sad that Russia is not easily accessible for foreigners at the moment. So nice to see a video about Dagestan that doesn’t mention war or terrorism!
From Wikipedia about Gamsutl: "In the 20th century the village had shops, a post office, and a hospital.[2][1] In the late 1950s people began to leave the village; the number of inhabitants fell to 200 in 1970 and to 17 in 2002"
Can I know to go to Dagestan, do I need a special Dagestani visa or russian visa is enough? Because im already living in russia under student visa. Please your help will be very appreciated!❤

Omg! I love this kind of places. Just breathtaking. I would love to go there someday. Anyway, I was brought here after watching Netflix. This was the hometown of the Boston Marathon bombers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
I'm confused by the random shot of those two cattle apparently way up on that hill miles away from anyone; I guess they fell out with the rest of the herd down below.

Wow. I'm from Russia but have never been to Dagestan. It looks pristine and fantasy. Something like ruins of Minas-Tirith. Cheers)

Cheers Steve, the issue for all of us traveling full-time is luggage space. We had to pick one pair of trainers which are reasonably versatile 😊
Wow! What an amazing tour and day!!!!
12,000 years ago as the ice broke up from the last ice age that was the most valuable land.
