I use metatarsal pads and stick-on arch supports in my sandals and shoes --and they DO relieve the pain of Morton's Neuroma in my right foot - but not permanently . I have to wear sandals for the toe room . My podiatrist gave me a cortisone shot 2 mos. ago just beneath my 3rd and 4th toe which did not help, it only got worse after the shot ....Not one word was mentioned in the office about icing, exercises and massages.. so I appreciate this video. I will give it a try . Surgery is the last option!

I’ve had good old Morton’s in both feet since 2010. It’s a part of life now. Haven’t had cortisone shots in 4 years, must massage my feet daily and i never can wear cute shoes. Oh well. This gives me hope though! Acupuncture briefly helped too. It shoots all the way up my leg and mostly calf daily. I don’t do anything for it anymore but this makes me want to and hopeful

It’s called the ball of your foot and you are suffering in your third and fourth toes. Fingers are on your hand. I have the same problem. I’ve got orthotics made by a podiatrist, and had steroid injections, and due to the bad injury I suffered when I broke my foot. I now believe I have arthritis in my mid foot. Very painful.

I had the same thought at the beginning, where the patient wasn’t clear on her role about informing him of pain and why it was important. Some ppl feel pain but endure it in silence (like me). I have severe right foot drop from peroneal nerve injury from cauda equina injury. I had l5/s1 decompression and discectomy in 2013. I developed lesions in spinal cord at c3 c5 c6 in 2016 and had diagnosis of transverse myelitis. I have hypothyroidism and pernicious anaemia also diagnosed since first spine trauma in 2013. My foot drop is severe with elasticity and I have developed unbearable pain in metatarsal head region. It's harder to weight bear now than ever. Pain and burning when stood up for more than 5 mins. It's terribly painful when j take first several steps after I get up from laying or sitting with foot up. It's making me so miserable. My mobility is very bad anyway. It's just making life so much worse. I'm in UK. Please can you offer advice or help on who I can see ... thankyou

Can this be caused by being over weight too as I've never injured my right foot. But if I'm training down the gym after 40 minutes of running I get a burning sensation in my toes. It's so Painful I have stop , if I'm at work which I stand all shift I can completely remove the pain if I wear flip flops.

Bowen therapy did a LOT for my Morton's Neuroma - this ASTR reminds me of my PT's treatment - painful but it broke down a lot of the scar tissue. I agree though, this video portrays his treatment as VERY rushed at the sacrifice of the patient' comfort level. She looks clenched with arms and jawline all the way through it. Chuckling by the camera person seems insensitive to boot.
How on Earth was she never prescribed insoles specifically made for her feet? That is the first thing to prescribe before any anti-inflammatory medication, be it in pills and certainly before considering injection!
RikiSmiley -I tried several insoles, one set made by a podiatrist that cost me $300 that did nothing. I’ve probably bought 30 more online & in stores. Only one pair even helped slightly. Unfortunately, insoles are not the answer for everyone.

Hi Dr Jacobs. I am 28 years old and i have been suffering with pain between the 4th and 5th metatarsals on my left foot. I work 12 hour shifts on a concrete surface in safety boot, since i started the job i have had issues with this pain. It feels like a cutting and burning pain between the 4th and 5th metatarsals. I have done xrays to no avail, the podiatrist i have consulted with assures me that it is a mortons neuroma between the 4th and 5th metatarsals. Should i go for an ultrasound to verify this? When I had plantar fasciitis I used ice to bring down the inflammation, For Morton’s neuroma. I have had orthotics made from a podiatrist, plus had two steroid injections. I was told not to walk around bare footed, no slippers. Trainers instead of slippers for support. High heels shoes can also cause this condition., due to your feet being squeezed into them.

She needs to get rid of those shoes. Those types compress the toes. I’m willing to bet that when she put her shoes back on and walked to the car the pain returned. He merely relaxed the tissue and tendon between the toes to allow more space for the nerve that’s causing the problems. This is a very temporary fix

No paper on the massagetable? . Not so hygienic if you ask me. And dirty tools put back on another massagetable where another cliënt wil lay down next time? As a wellness therapist i ll skip this one. Always cover your massagetable with medicalpaper. In Europe this is not done to put a patient like this on a massagetable. And never put ( dirty) tools on a massage table. Don't put anything on a massagetable that does not belong there.
We sanitize the tables before and after each patient use. We use a new sanitized towels with every patient. Medical paper does not sanitize the tables, if patient touched the table it is dirty. So the paper will not be beneficial if the table is not sanitized. We sanitize all equipments before and after patient use. It is not a good idea to assume that we did not sanitize the table because we did not include the cleaning process in the video.
@@Dr.Jacobs we sanitize the tables the same way like you do, but we still use the medicalpaper to cover the tables. And still we don't put something on the massage tables if we are working. We have special tables for our tools. My boss would kill me if I worked on the same way like you are doing on the video. If the health inspection would see this, they would close the company's doors for an inspection and give the owner a big warning and a ticket.

I use metatarsal pads and stick-on arch supports in my sandals and shoes --and they DO relieve the pain of Morton's Neuroma in my right foot - but not permanently . I have to wear sandals for the toe room . My podiatrist gave me a cortisone shot 2 mos. ago just beneath my 3rd and 4th toe which did not help, it only got worse after the shot ....Not one word was mentioned in the office about icing, exercises and massages.. so I appreciate this video. I will give it a try . Surgery is the last option!

I’ve had good old Morton’s in both feet since 2010. It’s a part of life now. Haven’t had cortisone shots in 4 years, must massage my feet daily and i never can wear cute shoes. Oh well. It’s called the ball of your foot and you are suffering in your third and fourth toes. Fingers are on your hand. I have the same problem. I’ve got orthotics made by a podiatrist, and had steroid injections, and due to the bad injury I suffered when I broke my foot. I now believe I have arthritis in my mid foot. Very painful.

I have severe right foot drop from peroneal nerve injury from cauda equina injury. I had l5/s1 decompression and discectomy in 2013. I developed lesions in spinal cord at c3 c5 c6 in 2016 and had diagnosis of transverse myelitis. I have hypothyroidism and pernicious anaemia also diagnosed since first spine trauma in 2013.
My foot drop is severe with elasticity and I have developed unbearable pain in metatarsal head region. It's harder to weight bear now than ever. Pain and burning when stood up for more than 5 mins. It's terribly painful when j take first several steps after I get up from laying or sitting with foot up. It's making me so miserable. My mobility is very bad anyway. Can this be caused by being over weight too as I've never injured my right foot. But if I'm training down the gym after 40 minutes of running I get a burning sensation in my toes. It's so Painful I have stop , if I'm at work which I stand all shift I can completely remove the pain if I wear flip flops.

it is most likely your shoes play a big role then - check the width of your toebox, it might be tooo small and sqeeze your toes .

Bowen therapy did a LOT for my Morton's Neuroma - this ASTR reminds me of my PT's treatment - painful but it broke down a lot of the scar tissue. I agree though, this video portrays his treatment as VERY rushed at the sacrifice of the patient' comfort level. She looks clenched with arms and jawline all the way through it. Chuckling by the camera person seems insensitive to boot.
How on Earth was she never prescribed insoles specifically made for her feet? That is the first thing to prescribe before any anti-inflammatory medication, be it in pills and certainly before considering injection!
RikiSmiley -I tried several insoles, one set made by a podiatrist that cost me $300 that did nothing. I’ve probably bought 30 more online & in stores. Only one pair even helped slightly. Unfortunately, insoles are not the answer for everyone.

I've had feet problems for over 30 yrs, especially the ball of foot. What shoe do you recommend that has wide toe box? Nobody around hardly ever carries wide brand not toe box.
Hoka shoes are recommended for plantar fasciitis. I have that and Mortons neuroma in my other foot. Hokas are doctor recommended.

I am 28 years old and i have been suffering with pain between the 4th and 5th metatarsals on my left foot.
I work 12 hour shifts on a concrete surface in safety boot, since i started the job i have had issues with this pain.
It feels like a cutting and burning pain between the 4th and 5th metatarsals.
I have done xrays to no avail, the podiatrist i have consulted with assures me that it is a mortons neuroma between the 4th and 5th metatarsals.
Should i go for an ultrasound to verify this? Will orthotics help reduce the pain or is cortisone needed?
The outside of my pinky toe is also numb, its been like this for a few months

When I had plantar fasciitis I used ice to bring down the inflammation, For Morton’s neuroma. I have had orthotics made from a podiatrist, plus had two steroid injections. I was told not to walk around bare footed, no slippers. Trainers instead of slippers for support. High heels shoes can also cause this condition., due to your feet being squeezed into them.

She needs to get rid of those shoes. Those types compress the toes.

@@Dr.Jacobs I disagree with your depiction of a massage as long term relief for a obviously significant neuroma in the foot. that neuroma is most certainly the diameter of a pea and it is a matter of physical size. the nerve simply cannot fit within the structure of the foot without adverse affects. your technique is more for the patient that has the beginning signs of the neuroma, clicking, numbness. some one who has 9 10 pain all day (last 2 years) has a very poor chance of fascia release being effective.
Massage does not provide long-term relief based on studies. Your assumption is based on massage that we all know that is not effective. ASTR is not massage. What you are doing is trying to compare apples to oranges and assuming they are the same.

No paper on the massagetable? . Not so hygienic if you ask me. And dirty tools put back on another massagetable where another cliënt wil lay down next time? As a wellness therapist i ll skip this one. Always cover your massagetable with medicalpaper. In Europe this is not done to put a patient like this on a massagetable. And never put ( dirty) tools on a massage table. Don't put anything on a massagetable that does not belong there.
We sanitize the tables before and after each patient use. We use a new sanitized towels with every patient. Medical paper does not sanitize the tables, if patient touched the table it is dirty. So the paper will not be beneficial if the table is not sanitized. We sanitize all equipments before and after patient use. It is not a good idea to assume that we did not sanitize the table because we did not include the cleaning process in the video.
@@Dr.Jacobs we sanitize the tables the same way like you do, but we still use the medicalpaper to cover the tables. And still we don't put something on the massage tables if we are working. We have special tables for our tools. My boss would kill me if I worked on the same way like you are doing on the video. If the health inspection would see this, they would close the company's doors for an inspection and give the owner a big warning and a ticket.
