I was not raised in a family that bought sauerkraut, I only, later, put some on a hot dog with mustard. After making this recipe, wow! It does not look pretty, but it tastes great; I’m about to make my second batch; thank-you, from New England, USA.
I've watched this video several times saying someday I'll make this. Today was the day. Two thumbs up and a huge thanks. It came out fantastic. Thanks for the memories that returned.
Fr. Vlad, Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe. I made this and it was fantastic! A 5 star recipe! This pairs well with some rye bread & butter and a tall cold glass of Piwo! Dziękuję Ci and Boze Blogoslaw! P.S. I bet you can find some real good Polish sausage at Sloan Market (494 Reiman St, Sloan, NY 14212).
This is always a favorite fall meal :) not sure about the sour cream...never put it in. The shredded carrot is a nice addition for just a bit of sweet. We've added some dried mushrooms ...soaked and chopped. I also have to use the same kielbasa . There were Polish butchers back on LI ...but none here in Tennessee for sure LOL. Enjoyed this video very much ! Pierogi sometime, maybe??? Love to see your version.
This looks excellent, I normally make adding fresh or smoked Polish, but I'm having pelmeni (I think that's how you spell it) and I wanted more that just plain sauerkraut to accompany it. Adding the sour cream to the kraut is a great idea, it looks decadent ;) Thanks for the recipe, God bless.
Hi, yes i did, i was fine with it, onions, carrots salt, tasted great. was hesitant about adding the sour cream so i just scoped some out and added the sour cream. Didn't work for me, way to creamy. I guess i like things more raw with roughage better. Hope this helps, Many thanks for asking Demetrios
Almost just like my Bunia ( my nick name for her) used to make. I nearly forgot. She used to make and stuff her own Polish sausage. She used to make it with her home made varenyky Thanks for the wonderful reminder. Going to make it tomorrow after church.

Looks delicious. Would you serve it with something else or is it the main course just like that?
This dish looks great like something we would really enjoy, so I'm making it tonight for dinner.
Let us know how it turns out!
It turned out very, very good. I added one more ingredient to it.....dry white wine instead of water and it tasted great. We loved it. Thank you.
Wonderful! White wine definitely makes sense in this recipe.
Greetings from France. How long should you cook it after adding the sour cream? I did not catch that. Thanks!
I add the sourcream towards the very end.

Thank you for inspiring a very well received Thomas Sunday dinner. This might be become a regular dish around here.
I have fixed this for years but never used sour cream. Your right the sour cream makes it.
