- Railroad Diamond At 4 Track Railroad Crossing Rare Angle! Odd Train Goes Between Buildings Following High Rail Truck, Sperry Rail Train Passes Norfolk Southern Train, Penn Central Locomotive Leads Grain Train Passing RR Crossing, CSX Power Move & More! These trains are in Muncie, Indiana. Muncie Fire Department Has An Abandoned Railroad Siding Behind It.
Loaded grain train with a Norfolk Southern Railroad heritage unit leading is the first train. The Penn Central Railroad heritage unit is on the front as the train is approaching a railroad crossing in Muncie. The springs on the hopper cars are noticeably depressed due to the weight of the grain.
Then the gang heads over to a slightly rusty railroad track that goes between buildings on a curve. We see the rail up close before the train comes. A high rail truck is leading the train. The train is the GREX SPS train that has a track hoe on it for drainage work. One person operates this train which is remote control. The operator has a wireless devise that he uses to move the train while he is working the track hoe. The railroad saves money by not needing an engineer and conductor for the train and they save money by not having to wait for the crew to arrive. The track hoe operator is the only person needed. We also see an abandoned railroad track at a switch that is directly behind the Muncie Fire Department.
Next we go to a railroad diamond that sits right next to the 4 track railroad crossing. Check out the shot of the eastbound Norfolk Southern train with hopper cars and tank cars. Notice how many railfans showed up to Railfan with Scott and me. Pretty cool!
Then we go to another railroad crossing to try to catch a couple of trains crossing. We heard them on the scanner. A westbound NS train appears and stops while blocking the crossing. While it was stopped CSX made a small power move going eastbound. Then the Sperry Rail inspection vehicle passes us. It looks for microscopic cracks in the rail. Right after it passes, the NS train starts up. Listen to how loud the cars bang! That was pretty cool.
The pets and the slide show are at the end of the video. We also see a car that got pulled over right in front of us on our way home. The car appeared to have been speeding. We moved over to give the police room for the traffic stop.

Good Morning 🌅🌄
Gm jawtooth nice catches
You win the fastest fingers award today. S-a-l-u-t-e !
That place here where you show the partially buried track was part of many War Emergency yards built in secret to help with the over flow of WWII supplies going over seas for our fighting men.these yards were located in strategic marshaling areas and hidden as much as possible from the air and line of site useing regular box cars.
I wish JT would have elaborated a little more showing those old tracks as to where they were going to. I'm gonna have to get on Google Earth and scope it out 👁️👃👁️
I absolutely love seeing your "Tooth Crew" with you.
Thanks for the weird, doodle, rare, and loco. Which, if you think about it Señor Jaws, is a pretty good desription of the trains and your assembled railfan group. RT sends, Puebla, México...
The way that Sperry car was bobbin' and weavin' , I hope no one on board was tryin' to have a coffee.
Norfolk Southern's Penn Central heritage unit. FYI, Metro- North is adding heritage units this year. I wish some if them were New York Central.
Many thanks Mr JT for covering north central Indiana...i grew up in kokomo over 50 years ago and many a penn central came rip roaring through that town....great to see the Penn Central loco in your video. I am a shut in now and your channel here on YT keeps me very happy.......sadly Kokomo has little or no rail anymore....last time i was train spotting was a few years ago in Logansport a great railroad town....God Bless you brother
Thank you for this additional video of your trip to Muncie, Indiana on 23 August 2023, Jw Tooth! enjoyed watching he trains in this video.
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo ! Thanks a lot! 👍🙏
Celebrity status ...equals muscle riding in back ! Awesome guys
Another good one! Thanks!!
I allways enjoy your videos from Muncie Indiana JT, Its a great place for watching the trains & other strange looking locos! Oh & cars on the tracks too, just Fab thank you. ❤😊
Your dog Lokey brings me much joy as do the other dogs and animals and your fun loving family love watching all the tooth family.
Doodlebug is about right as a name :) Cool looking thing, for sure!
Awesome video with a Penn Central heritage unit and a Sperry rail doodle bug but wait there’s more 👍😎🚂🇺🇸👍
Haven't left a comment for a while Jawtooth but I have to congratulate you on your Doodlebug catch! That is why I call our single carriage passenger service The Frankston Doodlebug after these famous machines! Good to catch up mate! 🚂🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸🚂
Welcome back! The last time that I saw one of these was when I was in Colorado at the railroad museum. It went around on a circle of track there. that was a long time ago. Anyway, thanks for watchibg and commenting!
Very fine catches.Looks like everyone was having good time.
On those 84 cars they sure was rusty.😊 That was spooky seeing that. Rail truck just a little way before that oncoming rain between the buildings. Cool clip.😊😊This was an awesome video. Some other railfans there too. Loki has beautiful markings. Going to be taller than Chessie too. Sweet fur babies. Thanks and take care Mr JT.❤😊
Thanks 👍😊
The NS train that stopped is very common because CSX controls that particular diamond. Been seeing that for years. 😊
Thanks for the info😊
Yes, it was running down the New Castle Sub. This was a couple days apart@@FabianDiazTrainsTrucksNCars
Afternoon Brian , what always gets me is how near your able to get to the track, here in the UK it would all be fenced off. Great videos as usual , esp like your gang . 😊
Thanks 👍😊
And no recording ATC airplane communications in the UK. Always thought that was strange.
Lots of action today! Great video JT!
🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸

Thank you very much! Loki is getting really big. He can reach food on the counter. I can't believe how fast he is growing
I attended The Third International Theater Arts Conference in Muncie, Indiana at Ball State University! I still have my Ball U tee shirt that I brought home for my conservative dad! He laughed and wore it AT HOME! I loved it there! I was there a week when I was 16.
Some pretty sweet catches around Muncie JT . NS PC heritage unit, sperry rail doodle bug, not sure what that was going between the buildings. And Loki looks happy and healthy. Keep up the awesome job JT.
Wow, That GREX sure knows where to find You, Jaw!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Good morning JT and Son, as always great video and hopefully one day you'll find your way here to my crazy town, Fayetteville NC
Now I know what a Sperryrail unit is and what it's functionally used for. Reminds me of the old inner urban rail cars.
Seeing you in the passenger seat, I thought for Chessie was driving. great video.
Wow, Don't see too many PC units around anymore!
I thought the pickup truck was the "weird train" from your video title and chuckled a bit. Then I heard the actual train horn. That was definitely an interesting work train.
Also DOODLE BUG!!!!!!! 🐞
Very good video my friend! Have a nice day! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thanks for the visit
That's one hell of a good penn central heritage locomotive paint scene love seeing them
Muncie pretty cool train stuff going on there great catches great video thanks Brian and Scott
Thanks for watching
HOT Here Too In Penzance , Cornwall
Bless Up Team
Cool catch on the Penn Central . I caught most of them not the Penn Central yet. Nickel Plate is in the Rutherford intermodal yard now.
Hi Jawtooth! You are certainly bright today in your wonderful shirt! Love them! What a great video! Question: What is the purpose of the blue phone booth on the end car? Certainly not a port-a-potty!! Lol 😆 We love all your videos and the information you provide on the areas you visit! Thank you for sharing your fur babies and home and family with delightful artwork. Looking forward to catching more Jawtooth. Your crew on this one is interesting!!!
That Sperry thing is really cool!! 😊😊😊
Great shot of train going over the diamond.
Cool video, I always enjoy the heritage engines, thanks 😊👍!
Glad you enjoyed it
Neat GREX catch and more!!
Are you kidding me? Penn Central. I thought everyone done forgot about that brand. Awesome video like always. Thanks for sharing...
Thanks for watching!
Amazing videos jaw tooth keep up the good work
Nice video! Getting a Sperry Rail Service doodle bug on camera is something I have yet to do. I thought they only operated in places where grade crossings are hard to find. We need to install cameras on those crossing gantries to photograph the license plates of runners and whack them with a huge fine.
Great catches and excellent video jaw tooth
Great film I have seen all 20 but I continue to go catch them for better videos and photos of them.
The CSX line was busier when it was Conrail
I missed this video some how till now. Fantastic!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great 👍 job Jaw Tooth 👍 +1 !!!! Love ❤Your Train 🚆 Videos Jaw Tooth 😊+1 !!!!!!
A little more to the east, u could of seen the bridges. 😊
Another neat video! Liked the Sperry train. Had not seen that before. Nice group you connected with. Liked the woman who wanted to know if you were filming a special train. I would have asked the same question after seeing all those people. And as always, love to see Chessie and Loki!
Thank you very much!😊
I love ❤ seeing the old PC power! They used to run one of the two lines that went through my to
I have actually got all of them. I was at Spencer for July 4 2012 for the "Family Portrait. I didn't photo all of them, but saw them all around the roundhouse!
Never seen a Sperry doodlebug before! Only ever heard the name doodlebug used as a nicknane for old steam motorail cars before today. Great catches, Jawtooth!
I've ridden a Katy Doodlebug when I was a kid. They were powered by an internal combustion engine.
What is a Sperry Doodle Bug car? What is it used for?
@@jsmurd They're a contractor that does specialized track testing for the railroads, like looking for cracks inside rails.
There were some great catches here JT. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Nice healthy horn on that Penn Central loco.
Great Catches!
Thank God JT!
If this was another downtown Hamilton or northern Kentucky vid I was going to pull my hair out!
Love this one!
Your videos are fantastic...but could you show some Indy, Ft.Wayne, or Lexington Ky. vids?
That would be lovely!
Glad you enjoyed it and I plan on Lexington soon 😊
@@JawTooth
Great!😀
I've caught all the Herritage units when they were all in Altoona at the big round house in Juniata shops of the Pennsylvania Railroad Historical buildings now usedd by Norfolk Southern.
I've seen those sacks hanging on certain hazmat tank cars they sometimes have documents in them pertaining to the material being hauled
Good morning I enjoyed the video👍👍
Many years back I worked for Sperry Rail Service on rail test car #SRS149
Cool shots of trains coming around turns and switching. Stay cool stay safe roll on
Thanks 👍
Course there always is!! Right on 😅
Nice ❤️ 👌 👍 that one with the loud horn that Sperry was nice first time I seen that
Thank you for the great videos JT. I don’t know how you manage in 90 degrees. I seize up anywhere near 70!
9:04 Without watching the video, I would have never guessed trains are what those guys have in common.
CSX #721 on a Power Move. One of my N Scale Locos! 🎉
Who owns the Penn Central name these days? I remember when they did over all the New York Central (and some Pennsylvania) cars and engines on the New York Central Harlem and Hudson commuter rail lines in the late 1960’s - olive green, every last one of them. A couple of years later they were all repainted again in silver/grey with a blue stripe when Metro North took over the commuter rail lines fro Penn C. New York Central was still using pre-1920’s rolling stock commuter cars, ceiling fans and straw seats (which did little for corporate types from Scarsdale in Brooks Brothers suits,). Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
I caught 1 Norfolk southern heritage unit and it was pure luck. Almost didn't catch it.
Excellent video again JT!!!
I appreciate that and thanks Jeff!
@@JawTooth You're welcome!!
Love the railfan cadre as much as the trains, thanks JT!
Glad you like them!😊
Who is more beautiful
Is it a steam train
Or a diesel train
I did a walk through of a doodle bug in Belen, New Mexico. Made for a pretty cool video
Talked to a guy familiar with that area, he's in his upper 70s. He said to his recollection there were 2 tracks there decades ago
Nice Catch
Thank you very much!
You hit some good trains this time
Here in the Melvindale, Michigan NS Oakwood yard, I've seen two PC heritage diesels.
I saw that Sperry rail at emporia Virginia toward end of September
Awesome! that is a rare catch
You are always at the right place at the right time and have great photography at a good vantage point!!!!!! John, Michigan
Awesome video again
Wow that was different
I've caught all the NS heritage units leading.
Nice video Brian! I’ve caught a handful of the NS heritage units myself, but I don’t know how many. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Will do!😊
Those VeraSun Energy cars on that last train belonged to an ethanol company that went bankrupt in 2008
Really cool ty
You really got some cool shots on this one. It was 99F here today but I try to not complain even though I want because soon it will be 68 degrees Fahrenheit and I will feel like I am frozen in my achy hip and back. Loved that weird looking rail inspection train between the buildings. I think I read somewhere that they were built on EMD GP40 locomotive bodies. Not sure if that is accurate though.
Good Video Jawtooth
Thanks!
That's some odd looking power on the work train! 😊😊
So far I have only seen the Central of Georgia heritage unit.
Happy labor day jaw tooth

I almost forgot about that. I put that in a video last year
