I am a wood person and when I saw the wood that you cleaned and sanded. BEAUTIFUL!!! but then when you painted and glued the covering and paint to the cabinet, I could have cried. Covering that beautiful wood. Now if it had flaws and couldn'e be restored, I understand making something out of it, but wood in it's natural form should have been shown/ Just mt thought. It did look cute but wood is better looking.
To whoever is reading this keep going, you're doing fine! No matter how slow your progress, each new week is filled with tiny steps forward. Be proud of yourself you got this.❤
You taught me so much, today. I've known for a while that there is colored stain, I thought that was crazy. However, I didn't know that there was a grain wax. When you added the paper to the edges, it elevated the piece. I can see myself doing something like that. I can't wait to see the other pink furniture you are planning for your she shed
Girl, I haven’t seen you on any of my notifications in forever. I couldn’t even remember you channel name. Thank goodness it came through today. Love all your ideas and beautiful work!! ❤️ from Louisiana
Ugh, I know, Lisa! I have been terrible about being regular on my channel! You should definitely sign up for my emails so you don't miss my videos! I know that UA-cam can be inconsistent, too, in showing people the notifications!!! Sign up here: thriftdiving.com/subscribe. I'll always email you when new videos go up in case you miss them! :) Thanks for showing up!!!
The cabinet is gorgeous- well done! I have to admit, I held my breathe when I saw that pink stain, but was happily surprised at the end. I love how you kept the grain visible.
That is…GORGEOUS ❤❤❤ I’m not much of a pink girl but I do love me some flowers! I love you can still see the wood grain! And the fact it is a sewing cabinet…😍🥰😍
Do I like this? No I don't! But damn you put a lot of good ideas and knowledge into that thing... and I appreciate that! Thanks for your videos and your love for wood :)
I don't love the pink or floral wallpaper, but i love that you did it! I've always been a huge proponent of personalizing furniture and decor in ways that suite your style. Its your house, fill it with things you love! The methods in this DIY are still quite useful for anyone trying to personalize their own piece of furniture.
I do like what u did, 4 ur taste, bcuz it was uniform. Enjoyed the transformation. 💜💜💜 1 question: Did u already do a video, moving ur tools from the garage 2 the "She Shed"? I am subscribed, but I don't remember c'ng a video.....
Nice. Long time looking like this video. I live London, I have brother industrial sewing machine, electric with under machine big heavy motor. I bought 20 years ago. But my bed room. No any space to move from my room. Looks really really ugly. Please kindly give me similar ideas how nicer keep my room
Can you list what we need to do this? I have boatloads of these sewing machine cabinets sitting around if they will always be..brown💩 I wanna give them some life!
When I was 18 me and my aunt found a sewing table on the side of the road and I painted it and used it as a desk! I completely forgot about that till I saw this 😂
I really enjoy so many of your videos, but don't really comment... This sewing desk, however, is just so pretty...had to mention it! Super Great Job!! Very nicely done!! Thank you for sharing and being such an amazing inspiration! God Bless :)
Watched your video a week or so ago and just so happened to be in Goodwill that weekend and found a sewing machine cabinet for $9.99 with military green " White" sewing machine inside. It's missing some parts so I will most likely replace it. I have always wanted to learn to sew and love DIY projects!
Oooh, I love industrial sewing machines!! My first thought is the get a decorative 3-panel screen and hide the sewing machine behind the decorative panel. It's such a big machine that there isn't a way to enclose it easily other than a screen.
Good question!! I worked on it over a series of a few days! :) Everything takes longer when I have to record each step and take pictures, so it's hard to tell exactly how long something takes when I work on it. :) Glad you found me!
I think it's ridiculously OTT but also shouldn't any craft cabinet reflect the personality and style of the crafter. What a wonderful way to bring that beauty back to life for your space.
Do you know if translucent acrylic inks would work through an airbrush to create a similar effect? Ive got a few bits of old furniture kicking about and now Im kinda in the mood to get some changes going! Looks great and I completely agree on having the grain showing, its such a nice effect!
Oooh, I'm not sure about the acrylic inks. That sounds like something fun to try! I imagine if would, especially if you can get an even finish without the blotchiness. Thank you for watching!
Haha, the garage is still horrifically cluttered! 🤣 I need to clean it out and organize it, as well as get the flooring done in the shed and focus on organizing it, as well!
I bought a sewing cabinet very like yours in 1985 with an Elna Jubilee machine in it. I loved it! The pink with floral gave your cabinet a lovely updated look.
This. Looks. Amazing! I have followed you for a long while and this is one of my favorite makeovers. The paper is fantastic and I wonder if there is a brand that you recall. I like this type of floral and would love to get something similar. Who would not love to sit and sew at this terrific piece of furniture? I could see it as a desk as well. You work so hard at what you do and to share your projects with all of us is so enriching and generous. Thank you! Oh, and I subscribed to your podcast as well.
Thank you for your instruction on stripping, painting, decoupaging, etc. I learned so much watching this video. I'm jealous of your tremendous find and I love that you went pink and bold!
So pretty! I know what my next project will be...my 30 year old cabinet needs an update! Sometimes I'm too chicken but yours turned out so pretty that I think I will try it in a happy yellow!
I wish I could find treasure like that at my local thrift stores. I can remember longing for one of those cabinets back in the mid-90's when I worked at a fabric shop.
Did you know I have a weekly podcast? There are 86 episodes to listen to on the go! thriftdiving.com/new-podcast

Argh need this. My husband diy the kitchen and learning as he goes.

Thank you, Dawn!!!
I LOVE IT!!!! This could be my favorite project you've ever done.
That's great to hear! yay!!!
What a gorgeous sewing 🧵 cabinet! I LOVE the outcome.
Wow! A true labor of love. I would never have the patience for this but it turned out beautifully for you. Well worth the wait!

Me, I loved the wood finish of the oak, but you have given it a gorgeous re-do which I also love, and it appeals to the feminine heart!
Loved the video and the editing-so professional. The desk is beautiful and bright. Thanks for sharing your talent.
That is…GORGEOUS ❤❤❤

Thank you, Jacqui!
It turned out amazing 🙏🏾💖🥰💯💫
This is gorgeous!!
Thank you, Ana!!
Welp… it’s not my thing, but I’m so happy you love it! All that matters is it’s exactly what you want in your sweet little shed🐝🤗❤️

I usually like a lot of your projects, however this imo ruined the piece of furniture and made it look like something for a childs rec room.
I love florals and pink so I'm giving it two thumbs up!
Serena this is definitely my cup of tea as well. Beautiful!😍💖
Beautiful sewing table makeover. Turned out great. Thank you for sharing this ❤
This turned out beautifully! 💜
Oh, she's my cup of tea.
This turned out Great I might buy some of this paint for my kitchen cabinets
Although this work is a bit too cheesy for me, you do an excellent job with really valuable tips. Thanks for that!
That was a nice transformation, the wood grain was beautiful. I love pink, but I probably would not use it on my sewing cabinet.💕💕💕
I do like what u did, 4 ur taste, bcuz it was uniform. Enjoyed the transformation. 💜💜💜
1 question: Did u already do a video, moving ur tools from the garage 2 the "She Shed"? I am subscribed, but I don't remember c'ng a video.....
Yooooooo Serena!!! Great to see a video Homie. This came out so colorful & makes me happy to look at. Hoping all is well my friend, Dirty Jersey out!!
I love this it’s beautiful, unique, and so feminine Tfs. Diana Romero ❤️🙏🏼💐

Serena hellllllo what a piece of art you have created. And to second that what a stunning pair of knee caps 🤣. Hope your well dear best wishes Phil 🌹🌼
So, this pink and this floral is not for me. But this technique and the idea I LOVE!!! I have something I want to try this on and I'm excited!
Oh, your cabinet turned out so beautiful!! You are so talented!!!! 🥰
Uh, no. That was not a good quality makeover. And why did you strip the wood if you were going to paint it? Absolutely unnecessary.
Nice job, interesting technique with the coloured stain and liming wax. Colour scheme's not quite my taste - but you do you! 🙂
Can you list what we need to do this? I have boatloads of these sewing machine cabinets sitting around if they will always be..brown💩 I wanna give them some life!
Omg 40 dollars at the store new its normally good $200 or more. Been looking see if anyone getting rid of theirs on offer up, market place.
Oohh you've got red bottoms in your drawers 😅 just kidding! I love it!! 😍
When I was 18 me and my aunt found a sewing table on the side of the road and I painted it and used it as a desk! I completely forgot about that till I saw this 😂

I am looking for some ideas for a entry way table and a cabinet, but I think that you gave me some good ideas for the cabinet
OMGORGOUS ♡ ! You have inspired me!
I really enjoy so many of your videos, but don't really comment...
This sewing desk, however, is just so pretty...had to mention it!
Super Great Job!! Very nicely done!!
Thank you for sharing and being such an amazing inspiration! God Bless :)
You are so sweet!! Thank you for taking the time watch and let me know! ❤️
I absolutely love this 😍 pink is my favorite color
I use Polycrylic to finish my paper beads!
Wow!! You created Pape veneer (I think it's veneer) 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ but that's a great idea!
*paper

Wow, great find!! Sewing is awesome and relaxing. You'll enjoy it!
Please please kindly will give me ideas how do hide my brother industrial big sewing machine, I bought 20 years ago. This machine use factory.
Oooh, I love industrial sewing machines!! My first thought is the get a decorative 3-panel screen and hide the sewing machine behind the decorative panel. It's such a big machine that there isn't a way to enclose it easily other than a screen.
I love it. Beautiful pop of color. Goes with your joyful spirit 🙂
Love, love, love it! First time seeing your channel and I’m glad I did. On question left unanswered. How long did it take you to refurbish this?
Good question!! I worked on it over a series of a few days! :) Everything takes longer when I have to record each step and take pictures, so it's hard to tell exactly how long something takes when I work on it. :) Glad you found me!
I think it's ridiculously OTT but also shouldn't any craft cabinet reflect the personality and style of the crafter. What a wonderful way to bring that beauty back to life for your space.
Yessss! Thank you so much!! I can't wait to do my first sewing project with sewing cabinet! I miss sewing so much!

This was so nice and I'm inspired to do my cabinet in that pink color
I love it! And I’m all about the pink too! Great job
If it's for your own home, good for you. But that is one seriously overly floofy sewing table. To each her own though.
Hahaha! "Floofy"! Love it. What a fun word. 🤣 But yes, it's for my "she shed." I can't help it. I adore it. 🤷🏽♀️
Now that you have your separate workspace do you find your previous area more organized and remain uncluttered?
Haha, the garage is still horrifically cluttered! 🤣 I need to clean it out and organize it, as well as get the flooring done in the shed and focus on organizing it, as well!
Would love to find on like it great job turned out gorgeous!
Absolutely love this! Thank you
I like that smoother thing, it looks amazing!
Absolutely gorgeous ❤
So glad you like it, Drena!
Omg it’s so cute!!!!!!!! Yes!!! 💕💗💕💗
It is so pretty and so bold. Great work!
It's not to my taste. Good job overall.
This so interesting to see colored stains.
I bought a sewing cabinet very like yours in 1985 with an Elna Jubilee machine in it. I loved it! The pink with floral gave your cabinet a lovely updated look.
Serena! This table looks so beautiful and just so yummy!!!! In agreement with florals and pinks!!! Thank you for sharing!
It turned out really cute. Was it really vintage, or made to look vintage?
It really was vintage! I think likely from the 70's or 80's!
This. Looks. Amazing! I have followed you for a long while and this is one of my favorite makeovers. The paper is fantastic and I wonder if there is a brand that you recall. That looked like a lot of work, but it turned out beautiful!
I love how the flora paper complements the pink stain. (Pink is my favorite color)
I wish I could find treasure like that at my local thrift stores. I can remember longing for one of those cabinets back in the mid-90's when I worked at a fabric shop.
Fun & Creative! 😃😃😃
It looks pretty! I don't think the grain shows well on camera after painting, but I trust you that it does show. Definitely a bright and cheery piece!
I really love pink furniture. I’m all about light and bright colors and have quite a bit of pink in my house. This turned out fabulous
Awesome! It looks retro!
I love pink also. This came out beautiful!
Pink is amazing! And so fun. Glad you like it as much as I do!!
You are amazing. You're not afraid to tackle any project and you do such great work. Thank you for sharing your talent. 😊
It looked better before.
Sorry not my cup of tea at all
Your progress is great
That was perfect!
Cute
How sad, it was a beautiful piece of furniture. 😢
Well, it was, but it was just tired-looking. It looks much nicer refinished in my "she shed"! Thanks for watching, though. :)
Soooo beautiful!!!
Ooh nooooo!
Great work! 👍👏
Lovely 🥰😍😘
I love this ❤
I LOVE pink and florals! This is adorable! 👏💕🌸
