As an entertainment host at DLR, it's really interesting hearing about the similarities and differences of our training and roles! The pacing of our training was super different - for host training there's a huge focus on guest interacting and developing improvisational/storytelling abilities by doing little exercises with guests in the park while trainers observe and offer feedback. We only really got into the nitty-gritty details (ie set schedules, formal spieling, cutting lines, building queues, etc) in the last 2 days of training in which we got a crash course in all the essentials and were thrown straight into it. Maybe this difference is related to the heavy emphasis on performance in the host role (I don't know if it's the same in WDW, but in DLR all hosts have to be hired through an audition process similar to character performers). We also don't receive training regarding dining/hotel events, or any of our other specialty locations/characters, until some months after we are first approved for hosting, though it might be different for CPs since you guys are only there for a few months at a time. We also definitely didn't get any grand tours LOL They really only showed us a couple areas on the park or backstage and otherwise just told us to ask other cast members how to get where we needed to be. Thanks for sharing about your experience! Watching videos like yours helps me stay enthusiastic about my job
I take it this is also known as a "character wrangler"-one who goes out with the costumed character and keeps him or her out of trouble and otherwise helps out when needed.
I feel bad you didn’t enjoy Once Upon a Time is now! I guess it depends on your facilitators because even after going to the parks 100s of times growing up I had the best time during the tour and had such a fun group!
Regarding what you said about how certain face characters don't know what mobile phones are for example or characters from films other than their own (although I do know the Evil Queen from Snow White knows who Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty is) I was just wondering as Mickey Mouse is basically the universal Disney symbol/icon is he a special case, do all the characters know who Mickey Mouse is if you were to show a picture of him to them?
Do you remember what time applications opened for the CEP in Canada? Im hoping to apply for the summer 2020 program and just want to make sure I didn't miss anything. Loved your video as always!

Ahhh I wish! It was so hot and dull for ours!
Do you ask guests how to use their device to take photos for them or do you just know how to use every phone or camera model?

They will address that other characters within the Disney realm exist but will change the subject back to their story quite quickly
Sounds like a lot of hard work but sounds fun
