    Wanted to let you know I was the one sitting on the bench with my daughter and told you to look up Kevin at blizzard beach. We even nominated you for a cast member award because you were so great with us. It was raining and the ride was down and you made the time go by faster as we waited.

    ooooooo my favorite themed language is at the Bippity Boppity Boutique. When they were brushing out my daughter's hair the fairy godmother was combing through her hair (while adding detangling spray) and said "Just looking through your hair for pascal so your hair doesn't get tangled!" And when we had to get her another dress for a smaller size they said "We'll get the birds to make you a new one!" instead of "We'll check in the back" It was awesome. :)

    13:37 I used to work in merchandising (now in food and bev) and when you mentioned this early shift I had flashbacks to my training. I had a unique location when I started in merchandising. I worked at the Character Warehouse which is an off-property store, nestled in an outlet mall off of I-Drive. It's a liquidation store, very similar to Cast Connections but it's open to the public, not just cast members. Well because we were liquidation, we had limited and inconsistent stock and would receive our inventory shipments every morning. Since we had shipment every morning, the opening shift for stocking was at 5am ... It sucked. Now luckily I wasn't in the same situation (having to get different transport) because I'm not in the DCP. I live in Florida and Disney is my regular, year-round job. However, I don't live in Orlando and have about and hour and a half commute to work every morning. So for me, a 5am shift meant that I needed to be awake at at least 3am so that I could have time to get ready and then make the drive. After training I never worked that shift again. Luckily I rarely ever got scheduled it but when I did I would always find someone to trade with.

    When I was in 6th grade I wanted to work at Disney and then work at a zoo! I had a 6th grade teacher who worked at my local zoo and Disney! She spilled the tea about my local zoo but she had good things to say about Disney's Animal Kingdom like you said!

    • @olivia_simone

      I was so impressed when I learned about DAK and how much they truly care for the animals! If you still want to do zoology / work with animals when you're older, definitely check out Disney professional internships - they have some where you can work at DAK with the animals!

    This brought back some great memories!! I did my DCP in Dinoland merchandise in 2008. I loved stock and actually didn’t mind the games. Wasn’t a huge fan of the the uniforms of the dinosaur ride because of the pants and having to walk into work from the car in pants. Lol. But thanks for the great video and I miss DAK so much!!

      I did DCP Merchandise for Dinoland in 2005! I can’t believe she didn’t talk about Edit. The most coveted spot! We figured out that the second person who signed in was assigned to Edit. And you got to spend 2.5 hours there as the second wave of people didn’t clock in until 11 am. Completely tucked away from everyone else and you had a radio. And could sit down. No guests. 😂 Those 3 screens did give me some serious anxiety though. When I worked there, Christine was Area Manager but turned out to be a Fed Plant, my DAK pack leader was Kirk and then we had Marie, Ginny, Ricard, Ashley, Lenny, and Peter.

    I worked at magic kingdom main street entrance merchandise Myself when I lived in Florida a few years ago . I was full time and there for three years i did the strollers part and package pick up . But the training seem never ending I spent about 8 days training for the stroller area that was merchandise training plus the handicap training I had to do for my area. Not to mention when they shipped me over to package pickup a few months later because at the time in magic kindomg the stroller area is in charge of that as Well I had another week of training. And every few months they did a brush up training on the computer in the training lab. I had a lot of training and touch up training with that job but I did love it there .

      @olivia_simone  6 років тому +1

      @shadowpaws5293 6 років тому

      @@olivia_simone yeah I mean I was in the same area for my whole time there witch was just about 3 years. It's just got annoying that I had to watch the same training videos every so many months just to brush on topics epseaiclly the course on guest with disabilities that course came up a lot .I mean I get why they had us do it so often since my area delt with the ecvs and wheelchairs and It didn't hurt to have a refresher course. It was just the same videos at least I always past the test afterwards with flying colors towards the time i left the company from seeing the videos so many times lol. But all in all I really do miss my time at the main street entrance best job I ever had . I plan on moving back to Florida and maybe one day going back into the company I mean I was never a cp so I know it's slightly differnt from what my friends who were cps/Icps told me. But my expreince as a full time cast member wasn't so bad but I did work alot because I picked up alot of hours didn't mind it.

    Photopass is a month of training AFTER your initial traditions class, welcome to ops, and park specific orientation. First two days are a class indoors. Third and fourth day is more park specific training. After that you get thrown into rotation. A week later you get trained in nighttime photos. You'll get thrown into rotation again; after that you go through creative training and character training. Thrown into rotation again after that. Then you can sign up for more training for floating positions as well.

    Hey first of all I love your channel but anyways I have a question I’m going to Disney next year but how long do you have time to interact with each character?

      Yeah! You can book your fast pass either 30 or 60 days out depending on if you're staying in a disney resort or not!

    I’m a late commenter but I have a question, how did you figure out how to use a cash register? Did somebody teach you the first time or did you have to figure it out on your own?

    Is it true that u can get free pins from Disney when u start working in merchandise

    • @olivia_simone
      @olivia_simone  6 років тому +1

      You get pins while you're on the job - you don't get to keep them!

    • @kamerynk

    You’re so luck that you were in Dinoland. I got Asia and there is 1 other person in the entire DCP that is with me, we don’t have any option other than dark brown pants, and our leader told us that we would get the minimum hours possible for DCP and no more. :/
