Seeing fuel dripping from the carby makes me wonder whether you have got some dirty fuel which has caused the needle to stick and over fill the bowl. Have you considered a small fuel filter inline from the tank? Might help with some of your problems.

awesome suggestion, yes we did have an inline fuel filter. We have ordered a new carb and will refit it again once everything is here. Thanks for the great input, much appreciated

Greetings... our solar panels are fixed onto trays. The trays collect rain water and this runs through the pipes and into deck water jugs... works well and collects a lot of water
