i remember seeing the resource pack of the same name being developed by you back in the optifine discord years ago was pretty interesting seeing it release as a mod all of a sudden will you be adding features from those older versions into the mod with the full range of possibilities at your disposal now ?
@@borb5353 The new mod version of JNE is sort like a rework as well as a mod port, so not all features from the old one will make it. but some did make it such as the nether pizza and shroomnights
fun fact: JNE is expected to be fully completed in 2028 (no this is not a joke or exageration, it's in the roadmap). The complete version will include: updated biomes and completely new biomes, each with their own unique content and features, such as new mobs and new structures, alongside that sub-biomes are planned for each biome, netherite is also planned to be upgraded too alongside new sidegrades to it, bastions, nether fortress, and piglins are also going to be overhauled in the distant future.
Oh, Also, here's an honorable mention: Igneous expansion is another super high-effort nether mod (not by the same creator) that tries to completely overhaul the nether dimension with new features, the mod will include basically almost everything i mentioned above, new biomes, sub-biomes, updated biomes, overhauled piglins, nether Fortress, bastions, and some other stuff, however obviously the mod has it's own unique features and ideas. Funnily enough the mod looks alot like JNE visually (To me atleast). So well, look forward to that mod too!
So far, this looks much smoother than some other Nether mods out there - everything fits so nicely with the base game! Thanks for the great showcase as always. ^^

After one cool mechanic and new mob something cooler comes around the corner, this mod in it's current state already gives me a whole new nether experience I never knew I needed until I saw it. Hats off to the mod creator.
interesting thing planned is a change to netherite, it will now have an thing called fire absorbtion instead of knockback resistence. Netherite now has a special armor bar icon that fills up when in lava or on fire, once those bars are filled, you will begin to take fire damage
Great showcase! I've been looking for a good comprehensive one for a while! This feels like a fantastic vanilla plus mod that I'll definitely be adding to my next modpack. The blocks look fantastic as always and I'm surprised by the variety, can't wait to see this mod 100% complete!

"this is a vanilla friendly mod" reason number 1 to NOT like this mod theres almost 0 mods that aren't just vanilla expansions like the best mods out there for newest versions are something like cataclysm and irons spells and spellbooks which are 2 great mods that you download to change the way you play not to have just the same boring progression every time

Heavily underrated Nether rework mod. It hits all the right notes of being vanilla+ and looking like it belongs while still adding something fresh.
This turns Soul Sand Valley into the undead nightmare it was always implied to be.
Thats one of the most creative and vanillla friendly mods I've seen, especially for the nether
