The thin wire that goes down the coiled spring wire, what does that go to?
    Thank you

I need something that will allow me to get a trolling motor over a lip on the front of the boat that prevents me from mounting it right on the front where it would need to be… I’m thinking some sort of a sliding mechanism… Would this be able to give me an additional few inches to get it over that lip with the baseplate behind the lip and the mounting bracket still reaching over with the motor? (I’m also using a older trolling motor… I don’t know exactly which but would it work with this as well?)

Sorry to say but without seeing it hard to give any ideas. What motor? If doesn’t give the rise you need I have added to this on a couple of setups I have done think of plastic from a shop that sells it in different sizes and thickness

Do you have a video to repair the release arm. Mind does not always extend to lift or deploy

Is it possible to re configure a power drive Minn Kota with this type of locking and unlocking setup.
Currently have the Power drive on my kayak. And its a real pain to unlock of modify the stow and deploy system without reaching towards the front.

Does the braket have to slide off in that direction or can you mount it to the motor 180 degrees so that the sliding bracket slides forward off the bow? Asking because my windshield might get in the way if I were to slide it toward the stern while stowed.

I would not recommend it because it’s not the way Minn Kota designed it plus there is an off set mounting it the right way what motor do you have

@@AnchorsAWeigh Tested a 50lb transom mount on it and couldnt get above 2.2mph. Motor idles at 4.5 so I was hoping to get some more thrust so the two overlap and I can troll at whatever speed I need to.

@@alexanderx33 check out Minn Kota bracket MKA-32 this is the bracket I use for Terrovas when we can’t slide the motor for removal

I would also recommend a 80 pound thrust for a 17’ gives you that extra power for rough days plus with 2 batteries you should increase your run time sounds like you’re heading in the right direction

When the motor is in the storage position, what is the height from the base plate to the top of the motor? I need to be able to move it up and down under the bow rail and I dont want to cut the rail

I don’t know off the top of my head I think how it’s mounted would have an effect on that

I just bought this trolling motor in 24v. I did notice if i dont slide the height collar and lock it, I can push the TM to deploy it without hitting the release lever. This seems to be normal?? Thanks

Sorry for the delay in response Minn Kota recommends lowering the height collar to prevent self deployment it should lock in stow and the height collar being the safety

Some times my shaft will turn but no the head unit theres a Grove or something that has to line up

    • @AnchorsAWeigh
      @AnchorsAWeigh  2 роки тому

Depends what generation it is but yes there is a key that has to line up so the steering assembly turns the shaft

Is it possible to add the easier deploy method like this version onto a powerdrive unit.
I hate crawling up to the front of my kayak to deploy this thing. Thanks for sharing

No you would have to switch to a Terrova
