I’ve been taught French at school and also at an immersion course in France. Alexa is by far the best teacher I’ve experienced and I’m finally filling in the gaps. I have a feeling that I should have learnt idioms quite some time ago!
I am teaching French for the first time. I speak Italian and know some French. Your videos are very helpful. I will teach level one to freshman in a Brooklyn, NY high school.
I'm currently mastering and sharping English before taking up French, but nevertheless I'm always watching some French lessons just to get more acquinted with the language, and I have been seeing many similarities with my first language, which is brazilian Portuguese. The main structure is pretty much the same, like here we also say "Avoir faim" using the verb have , for us it's like "Ter fome". In English , even though it is an easy language, the structure is kinda tricky and distinct from portuguese and french.
Je suis français et je voulais voir comment les gens de l'extérieur nous voyais, et wow vous êtes courageux d'apprendre une langue si difficile que même la france de maîtrise pas sans faire de fautes 😭 braveau à tout les apprentis français, je suis dispo si besoin de parler en correspondance 🖐️👍 En espérant que vous m'aurez compris 🙂
This is wonderfully simple and helpful! Can you do one on fun idioms? What is the French version of "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse" or "a bull in a China shop"?
Excellent, but HOW to remember idioms is my question. Just studying them or trying to memorize them doesn’t seem to work very well! Any tips on making them stick?
my french teacher is really really bad. I won't blame everything on him. Our school is new: this is our first year, and there aren't many students taking high level language classes. It is between me and 3 other students who are in the pre-course for AP french, and because of that they decided to put people in french 3, 4 and pre-AP together. This means that the teacher has to divide class time between all of us. He was way higher expectations of us and believes that he can abandon us with difficult work at home, to test us on material we didn't learn, because we are focusing on doing stuff for pre-ap, and we were never taught any of that. None of us are passing the grade with a high level, and he doesn't seem to preoccupy himself with us. I am rabbling. I am angry, but this video definitely saved me from failing. PS: im mad
Question: why are there two different ways of pronuncing the French alphabets? For example, B pronounced as in “bee” and B as in “be”? If due to regionalization, please advise which is used in France. Thank you!
Bonjour Alexa! Merci pour vos leçons videos. P.S. Pls do a video on conjunctions Edit: Je veux prendre des cours de français chez vous pour mes examens en février
Please Alexa do you read comments. I want to join your community to learn French.help me. I love the way you teach french. What are the schedules of live streaming? so that I can organize the time to learn French live from you. Thanks
I hate French class only bc I am trash at French and I don’t know if you have already made this but can you make a video explaining masculine and feminine or whatever the thinker ma bob is
Bonjour Brooke, I don't blame you, it is a difficult language. Yes I have a video on feminine and masculine. Check the playlist. Most words are feminine if they end in E or TION ! Don't worry if you don't get them right this shouldn't affect the way you structure your sentences.
Because "a tort de" is the idiom. 'a' from 'Il [Tom] a' ..in avoir. 'tort de' is two in one word giving out the meaning of being wrong. That's what she calls an idiom. But,, ne pas can exist without a verb in between. For exemple, ne pas marché sur la...., ne pas fumé ! Ne pas =Not. Ne jamais = Never. They can exist with or without a verb in between. Only if I caught This fav teacher of mine... Alexa😋

there is no two different ways.

Hi,
I am confused on when Avoir means to have, Avoir envie de means I want/I feel. What happened to the "To have"?
j'ai envie = i have the desire = i want
Hello Alexa am learning fransais from you but I can't differentiate between masculine and feminine I need to learn that...Merci boucoup....abientot
I am from Bangladesh
Hey there
Could you please suggest me a book that summarize all french grammar cuz I really struggle with it
Alexa Madame is Fantastic 👍👍
MerciProf 🌹
This is nice
How can I say can we be friends in french?
Je aime professeur
How come the saying is sur le pied and not sur mon pied?
il m'a marché sur le pied = il a marché sur mon pied.
m'a marché sur mon pied is redundant.
Comme tu me fais plaisir. Plus qu'un glace au vanille ou chocolat du moment a dit le petit con.
C'est bon.
I hate French class only bc I am trash at French and I don’t know if you have already made this but can you make a video explaining masculine and feminine or whatever the thinker ma bob is

In the sentence
Je pense que Tom a tort de ne pas venir..... why didn’t a verb in between ne and pas
Alexa😋
Bonjour Alexa, comment ça va? Je t'envoie pleins de bises
Bonjour Alexa,
Why isn't there liason in the sentence:
"Fais attention sur la route!"?
Merci
No liaison after a verb.
I think que, that, you need to call the doctor -add that ....
Cold hot?!? Hmmmmmm....
Merci boucop Alexia@
Dear Alexa
Your lessons are awesome. Please speak slower. Thank you 🙏

Hey Alexa!! So I have a question how should I call a non-binary person in French? :)
