Loove the design of the side.
It is a cool looking car like the new Santa Cruz too
Way to go Lauren! This is the first time I've watched a review from you. You're an expert and I'm so glad I watched. Not sure if I'll go with hybrid or gas, but after watching this - hybrid gets an advantage. Thank you
I recently bought a 2022 Tucson SEL AWD with the Convenience and Premium upgrades. Love it. Test drove a Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4 in the same weekend. Neither compared to everything you get on the Hyundai Tucson. It was an easy decision.
I agree, thank you for sharing what you bought and why. This is helpful.
Enjoy the drive!
Just did the same. Best bang for the buck.
Same here. Great value for your money and much more luxurious.
How is the sound system? Thinking about getting the SEL convenience and can’t get my hands on one to test drive yet!
Excellent review! Thank you!
Thank you for the nice review. I just purchased the 2022 Tucson Ltd.. and I LOVE it!!
Great comprehensive review. Very thorough, I like this car a lot.
Glad you liked it! Thank you'!
I love the detailed video about the car coz I'm thinking about buying 2022. Right now I have the 2019. Thank u!
Have had the Hybrid Limited for a month now, and more than pleased with it. In some ways, I like it better than my 2020 BMW X3. It’s slightly slower 0-60, 7.1 vs 6.5, but a much smoother ride and better gas mileage. The lack of knobs is not a big negative, as there are easy controls on the steering wheel. Styling inside and out is a 10. For an every day normal driving experience, there’s nothing in the market comparable at this price point.
Your video is helping my partner and I a lot. Thank you for such a great video. You’re very good at what you do.
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful.
I just got mines Hybrid Limited model yesterday. I LOVE IT. It rides awesome and the seats are very comfortable.
Great to hear! It is a really nice SUV.
how much of an increase did your insurance quote you? I was going to get one until they were going to slap me w/ another $130/mo
As alway great review.. Keep up the good work .
Much appreciated!
Great video. I'm thinking of buying a new Tucson PHEV so really appreciated this review as it covered so many aspects of the vehicle.
Glad it was helpful! The plug-in won't be available until the fall.
@@CarCoachReports I know this sounds silly but there’s been a push by car reviewers for Hyundai products, as if Hyundai is influencing you tubers to give these glowing reviews. I’m guessing better sponsorship and compensations? And while on the surface these vehicles look to have nice features I see all reviewers not addressing the elephant in the room, future reliability and resale value. This is a major factor in consumer buying decisions because 30k or more for a car on average is a lot of ask. And people want to make the best financial decisions. Hyundais have long warranties but through anecdotal experiences from Hyundai owners they will fight you on any warranty claim.
Nice unbiased comprehensive review!👌👍
Thank you.
By far the best 2022 Tucson Review I have seen on UA-cam. Nice Job!
Thank you so kindly, glad you enjoyed it.
Excellent review. Thank you.
You are welcome!
Great review thank you
Thank you!
Great review. Very fluent and comprehensive. Thanks.
Thank you
@@CarCoachReports I just placed my order for virtually this same car, in Cyprus! your review supports that purchase decision :-)
I just had to hear your review in this car for a 3rd time, Lauren. Like this Santa Fe A Lot.
Aww thank you!
Have always admired the Tucson and now even more the redesign is good they have one up on the others warranty
Agreed
Your presentation sells the car , very nice.
Thank you very much!
I purchased my Tucson hybrid top trim level with 360 camera, panoramic roof, smart parking and ECS adaptive suspension. I just love driving the car, great safety features, impressive ride quality and handling especially in curves and over bumps with ECS. Moreover the car has pretty good fuel economy. I paid 400 000 SEK in Sweden which is about 47 000 USD.
Very nice! The Tucson is really a great value and full of safety and features. Thanks for sharing!
WOW!!! That's too, too much for a vehicle!!! It's crazy!!! Pretty soon, a car will be costing as much as a house.
Memory (2 different) for the seating can be found on the door just under the window at the front. Great review!
The hybrid offered memory seating, the loaded SEL we test drove did not offer it. Thank you for your comment
16:03 upper right corner, you can see the memory seat buttons. Perhaps this is stock video from the Limited?
Hi, I just found this video. So glad I did. I just bought a 2023 Hyundai SEL Tucson in Calypso Red with the convenience package. I was looking at many SUV's and this one really stood out. My next choice was the Toyota RAV4. I've always been a Honda gal, but this caught my eye and I'm looking forward to all my traveling journeys with this SUV.
Glad it was helpful!
I love this color combination! If I were to get the Tucson I'd either get this color combination of the Deep Sea blue exterior with the same gray interior
Got it love it
Love this Santa Clause w the 2.5T
Great detailed review! I did notice though as soon as you said it didn't have memory seats, you panned the camera up and showed the memory seat buttons. Also, the Qi wireless charger is pronounced "Chee".
The hybrid had memory seats, the SEL did not. Thanks for pointing that out and the compliment
Th limited has memory seats and adjustable steering wheel
Great review. Looking forward to plug in review. Any idea when that may be available? Also do you expect the plug in to be much more faster and responsive?
Plug in will be a few months. THe plug-in will be more expensive and faster. Remember the insurance rates ar twice that of the gas version. We should see them in dealer in the fall
Very well thought out and informative review, this car is on our SUV test drive list. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome Review 👍🇺🇸🙂😎
Thank you!
Nice review by a pleasant lady, really enjoyed this.
You did miss out on one thing however Miss, the drivers seat does have memory function - they are actually situated on the door in the chrome trim. Bit like Mercedes do.
I shall be placing an order for a Limited trim plug in (Ultimate trim in my country) at the beginning of January’22. And I love the deep red with the grey interior.
Greetings from Cumbria in the U.K.
Stay safe and well.
I’ve subscribed by the way 🙂
Thank you for the sub. Love your color choices.
Lauren, very nice review . My only criticism lies, in that you jump around the models too much. I think it may better serve to Split the review : Non Hybrid and then the Hybrid.
Great review.. Very thorough.. Though I'm not sold on hybrids, yet.. They lose efficiency in cold climates, so mpg drops. Also, saw youtube review showedTucson Hybrid AWD not as good as others. 2.5 Gas version mpg and 0-60 not as good as competitors. The new Tucson is sharp looking and has some great features. Great warranty and made in US. - Nice Why not list Forester as competitor? Just curious
Well done 👍
Thank you 👍
Great review of a really nice new vehicle. I really like the overall exterior design, I was a little put back as a current Tucson owner, because this 2022 Tucson is so radically different. Not crazy about the rear turn signals down on the bumper, Hyundai should have integrated them IMO, into the rear LED taillights which are quite unique. Interior looks great, good quality materials, some hard plastics which you stated, but all cars have some plastic pieces. Really like the front instrument panel design except for two things. No cowl/cover over the digital gauge cluster is a huge negative, as well as NO VOLUME KNOB for the radio. The rest of the interior I like a lot. Final thoughts are that there's good cargo space in back with seats down and of course the smart power tailgate that Hyundai puts on their vehicles, and I have it on mine is a really neat feature. Overall like you Lauren very impressed with this new 2022 Tucson. Can't wait to see one on the road & give it a test drive. Thanks for your great, comprehensive review as always!
You don’t need a cowl cover over the new gauge cluster. Even with the sun on it, there was no issues. The no volume is something that can be adjusted on the steering wheel. Take is for a test drive, its pretty impressive.
In Canada bought what is called a luxury trim, smaller screen, wireless apple play and a volume dial. Love it every time I drive it.
I own a 2022 SEL bought it two weeks ago and have to say I love it.
Great choice! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did reviewing it
@@CarCoachReports The family is really enjoying it and can say it turns heads on the road.
Hybrid SEL Convenience? It it wireless apply carplay/android auto? Does it have wireless charging?
@@senditbr0768 wireless car play Android auto but no wireless charging would have to upgrade for that and then lose the other options.
Do the tail lights on the hatch turn on in all the models ?
Great review. Just a couple of pointers. There is memory seating. Also the hatch button opens the hatch. Great job though.
Memory seating is on Hybrid, did not get it on SEL
Does the SEL trim have the 360 deg area view feature ?
I bought yesterday love it owsm car
Let us know how you like it
Great review. I own a 2021 Tucson sport and it is great.
👍
how is the acceleration in the 2021?
@@brandonfairbanks376 it is good in sport mode.
@@stevenfriedman6042 good to know. May have to consider the 2021. My insurance quoted me almost double per mo. for the 2022 lol
I love your reviews. can you please review the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander. in looking at possibly getting it and would love your opinion. thanks
Waiting for one to come
Very nice review! Is the europe tuscon size differs from USA? It seems smaller europeans tuschons!
Just bought bone today - hybrid limited
Pick it up Wednesday hopefully. Amazing value and what a warranty to boot.
Power is very good especially in sport mode. Dealer did knock off $1000 off MSRP
Great choice! Enjoy the ride!
i'm curious how the insurance compared for this one? I was looking at one, but they were quoting me an extra $130/mo for it
Most of the new hybrid, EVs and plug in vehicles are almost twice as much in insurance rates. That’s why it’s important to look at your full budget which includes the car payment your cost and insurance rates before you make any final decisions. Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense
@@CarCoachReports That was my initial assumption as well with hybrid /EV tech being new, however the gas model was quoted at even more than the hybrid, so something seemed off to me
I called my insurance gal but as of yet have not seen the rate. Will respond to this once I get it back.
In March (after waiting two months) I got my RAV4 XSE Hybrid, white and black...what a beauty! When driving it however, I was experiencing driver fatigue after only a short period of time. I was uncomfortable! And worried because I have a long trip imminent. After two months with the RAV4, I tried out the Tucson and the dealer said take your time with the test drive. After an hour, I was sold. I bought the Ultimate Hybrid in Titan Grey (yes it was a hugely expensive mistake), but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this vehicle! I love it! There is NO comparison between the two vehicles. The Tucson is LUX! Ridiculous amount of features and the RAV4....well....not so much.
I think you madd a wise choice. I like your color choice as well. The Tucson offers great value and tons of features. Enjoy your ride!
Thanks I want this car.
Just a note. The Hybrid you drove does have seat memory . it is in the door panel. I purchased the top end hybrid about a month and a half ago and i love it!!! no buyers remorse what so ever. My only complaint is the hybrid does not come in red. Everything else has been near perfect. My only negative i have found so far is that 1. wireless android auto does not work on the large screen in the top of the line. With that i tend to put the map on and my music that is played from android auto on the smaller side of the split screen. When in this mode the ability to respond to a text message , even with the ready responses is not functional while driving . I am afraid this will lead to people picking up their phone to respond unlike in the past when i could respond with voice prompts all while never picking up my phone. Otherwise the best CUV i have ever driven.
The non-hybrid I also drove in this video doesn’t have memory seating. I’m glad to hear you love your Tucson, they really created an impressive SUV. Just had it on Fox & Friends last weekend. Its a cool car. Interesting to know and thanks for sharing about Android Auto. That is really important. We use Apple devices but this might be part of a future software upgrade. I’d check with your dealer, they should be able to add it once its changed. Thanks for your comments.
16:02 The driver's memory seat buttons are right there in the black trim Lauren
Really looking forward to seeing the Genesis GV70!!
Me too, should be coming out soon. The chip shortage isn’t helping
Got my 2022 Tucson SEL awd with convenience pkg about a week ago. I'm loving it! Still trying to figure out all the tech. It rides so comfortably for me, which was a big ding against a couple of the others (like the Rav4) due to me being short. I think the instrument panel is what sold me at first. I love the layout and options for the panel design. The warranty is amazing, and the safety ratings help me feel more comfortable on the road.
One thing though...and this is super low-tech and seems like it should be obvious. Is there no sunglasses nook?? I can't find anywhere that is dedicated to my sunglasses. There's not a lot of storage cubbies to begin with, so I have to use up some of that limited space for my sunglasses, and then I have to be careful nothing else rubs against them and scratches them. Am I missing something?
There is not a sunglasses holder.
I'm coming from a 2017 Elantra that has one to a Tucson when it comes in next month - and it's a surprising omission. Not that I used it for sunglasses - I keep a bottle of change in it but it was handy and will be missed in the Tucson. But not enough to be a dealbreaker.
Tough decision between this and the Santa Cruz. Don't know if anyone else sees it this way, but the body side styling from the "B" pillar back reminds me and bit of the Urus, but it could just be me. Either way, the styling has grown on me and with the 19" wheels it really looks sharp.
Are you saying the SEL Tuscon Hybrid has parking assist it can park for you? I thought only limited trim level and Calligraphy has parking assist? Do you know something that I don't?
Tucson’s here in Ohio are hard to find. Even with a deposit, we’ve been told a two month wait. Anxious to get our new Hybrid Limited!
I just drove the Tucson & absolutely love it it's a beautifully designed SUV! I had the Toyota Rav4 in mind but am leaning toward the Tucson for a couple of reasons. The design of the Tucson is gorgeous the ride is smoother & it's quieter than the Rav4. I love the wrap around elegant interior of the Tucson. I was also leaning toward the hybrid but the purchase price of the hybrid is about $5,000 more & the expense of replacing the hybrid battery over time, well... and your insurance will cost more. The Tucson FWD does get great mileage so for me I'm more inclined to stay with the gas. Not sure if I'm comfortable with not having a spare tire...
The Tucson is really a great vehicle. The biggest issue is finding any vehicles. I’d suggest ordering what you want. They are made in Alabama.
@@CarCoachReports I went to the dealership in Anaheim. They had a few at their location but not the color I wanted which is the white limited fwd. I put a deposit on the white limited fwd which will be arriving next week. I feel I got a good price when researching want other dealerships were asking. Can't wait to have it in my garage! Even without the spare tire...
Not really the best selling buts it's perfect
Lauren, I'm just now taking a look at the Hyundai Tucson video you put out recently. At the 16 minute mark you say there is no memory seat function, however I see a set button next to the air vent that says set?, and what appears to look like buttons are showing seats, am I mistaken? Sorry if you have already asked and answered already. Still anticipating the GV70 review, read today that pricing has been released. Cheers! Mike
Memory swaying is on the hybrid but not the SEL trim. Thanks for the comment
Simply another great review Lauren! Thank you! About to purchase the hybrid Tucson here in Canada. Do you think the shimmering silver paint with black interior is a good combo?
Thank you Ewen, Silver / black is a popular choice and looks amazing. The hybrid really is the best balance.
@@CarCoachReports Thanks so much Lauren! You are so good at your job!
Did you get your vehicle yet, and what are your thoughts after a few months? We just bought the Tucson Hybrid Ultimate trim, and loved how quiet it was (in addition to the great safety features). It's going to take 6-8 weeks to get though.
If you can get a vehicle in 6 to 8 weeks you’re a very lucky person. I’m still waiting on my choice of vehicle and it’s going to take about 5 to 6 months
@@CarCoachReports Oh wow! That's a long time. May I ask what make and model? We had a housefire on January 1, 2020, so just before pandemic and everything took so much longer. It took almost a year for our fridge to arrive. I hope your vehicle arrives soon!
How do I know how many miles I have put on my 2022 Hyandai Tucson?
How does the software get updated?
In my experience if a Hyundai has 'smart' mode in works best. 'Individual' can set firmer suspension for handling with a 'comfort' ride.
Agreed, SMART is a good balance of all modes
Does the Tucson come with a Jack and a spare tire?
This does have memory seats. You said it didn't. Overall a great presentation
The hybrid offers memory seats the SEL does not and that was the other term level that we were testing
16:01 It has the memory seat.
Look at the left side of the vent
on the hybrid but not on the SEL
It is also on the non hybrid limited trim.
Are the cloth seats on the Hybrid blue/Hybrid SEL Convenience comfortable ? I have seen some reviews that say that the cloth trim seats are very rough on the skin.
The cloth material is recycled, its a personal preference.
Great Review! The one downer is no spare tire.
This is the new way for most manufacturers, they are trying to improve fuel economy by reducing weight.
So what happens if you have a flat tire??? What do you do???
I would like to buy the 2022 Hybrid Limited but I can’t find one! Can you help locate one in Northern California?
Coming to dealers slowly
Great review! One question - If u have to buy a car for yourself from the following - Rav4 , CRV , Tucson . What would be your choice?
Good question. All three are great choices for a lease, if you are going to buy the ride, go with the longer warranty, Tucson. Also check with your insurance agent to see which has the lowest price.
@@CarCoachReports Take price and warranty out the equation and include the Rav-4. Which one will you select based on product only?
So weird about the Limited model...it actually does NOT have wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto (from what I read and what's on the trim comparison on the Hyundai site). The lower trims DO have it, but the Limited is wired only...
I agree - it should be standard these days
@Car Coach Reports Great reviews. Did you see Tom Volk there!?
Thanks. Yes, Tom and I were on the same wave.
I was going to get the 2021 CX 5 , but this car is starting to come neck and neck with it. What would you pick?
Its worth a test drive.
Can you please give your opinion on buying hybrid or gas model if I drive approx 12000 miles per year
The hybrid had better performance and fuel economy. There is a higher price and higher insurance rates. Check with your insurance company and that will help you decide.
Heated Seats are Usually Quick BUT What About Cooling (Slow, Medium or Fast)? Curious 🤔🙂⁉️
On my 2021 Ultimate they are fast & efficient.
There is memory seating. It’s on the door it self. Have modes 1 and 2
I’m replying to you from the driver seat of an XLe all-wheel-drive trim level corolla cross. There is no memory seat setting
Lauren, the Limited does have memory seats😁
Not on SEL only on the Hybrid
When talking about the car with alot of info you don't mention which level you are talking g about so it became confusing not knowing sel or the hybrid.
is it true right now that your will likely have to pay list?
Chip shortage, be patient and by fall there will be better deals.
You incorrectly state that Wireless CarPlay is available across the board. Sadly, it’s not. The 10.25” entertainment centers do NOT support WIRELESS CarPlay - only wired. Only the 8” entertainment Center suppers the wireless CarPlay.
Unless I missed it I didn't hear if you mentioned the transmission, does it use CVT? ( hope not)
8-speed automatic transmission, the Hybrid has a continuously variable automatic transmission.
The hybrid has a 6 at torque converter
@@CarCoachReports The Hybrid does not have a CVT. The Non-Hybrid has the 8 speed CVT
When will the hybrid be available in Florida?
Hybrid and SEL coming out at the same time and should be in dealers now
test the plug in when available please
I’m scheduled to get one.
It is really sharp looking. It could be a 2026.. lol!!
Lol I agree - way ahead in looks and tech.
Kool color mommy.
Buy this for full MSRP or buy 2021 model which offers $7k discount?
Exactly
I don't believe Hybrid has temp spare, bummer. (had 3 flats in six years). Wonder if there is space to buy an aftermarket spare and place in vehicle under the floor?
It does have memory seats. The camera pans right to them. Lol
Only on the Hybrid NOT on SEL
I would have thought the hybrid would have improved acceleration a lot due to the electric motor's torque.
Smaller engine
Does anyone know why the insurance on this car is astronomical?? I got a quote that was almost double what I currently pay. Crazy...and disappointing because the hybrid seems like a great option.
Cost of replacement, but this has to do with your credit rating, driving record and other factors.
I saw this car in another video all orange no black on the bottom like the one you have in this it's all red What is that?
It depends on what trim level you saw. I’m sure the dealer can order what you want which is your best choice
Lauren, the description under the video says you are reviewing a 2021 model, but it's a 2022. just nit pickin'
Corrected - thanks
Do a detailed review on Nissan qashqai mam
That is a Nissan Rogue Sport here, this is our review: ua-cam.com/video/lxnfxTqGvXE/v-deo.html
You realize the title of this video says 2021?
Yup - corrected
I MUST show this car to my daughter.
Great young persons car
@@CarCoachReports She's buying one when soon
@@CarCoachReports I think so, also.
@@CarCoachReports we have to wait for them to show up.
😊
I wonder why you can't save trips on the odometer. Seems like a basic feature every other car has
🤷🏻♀️
Does it have WIRELESS Android Auto?
Yes
How much price in usa 37.000$?
Prices range from the base trim level at $24,950 to loaded at $37, 350.
Yeah it's the 2022 Tucson not 2021 as your video description says 😉
Fixed that - thank you!
I really get bothered on the NO SPARE TIRE.. No emergency option but to call towing vehicle??? What if you got stucked on the middle of nowhere due to flat tire? 😩
What do you think is a better choice- volvo xc40 or hyundai tucson 2022?
I like the XC40 but the Tucson offers more
The problem with the warranty is it does not cover the infotainment system. That system is just 3 yr, 36,000 miles. Anymore, its all the computer stuff that can fail, not the drivetrain. No one is giving long warranties for infotainment systems.
That is true with any vehicle. These old cars in the future are going to be a mess
good point!
I just pre-ordered the PHEV version of this car (with the Ultimate trim) to replace a 2009 Ford Escape. I think I’m going to love it!
Where will be the first place I hear news about the PHEV starting to be shipped? Or news of any delays they might encounter? Am I too optimistic to think I might have one by the end of August?
There are may delays. Your ordering should be able to give you regular updates. It’ll be worth the wait. Expected a 6 week delay, if you get it earlier you are lucky.
