I skipped the carbon fiber, just wasn’t a big fan. That financially put me in the regular OCTA. Not a big fan of the color choice but went with the LR version of off grey would have definitely preferred Carpathian. Also went with the 20” Duratracs, surprised you went with the 22’s! Plan on PPF’ing and ceramic coating with third party. No problem with LR product on a $90,000 car, but at $160,000 ish, I think third party is the way to go. Mr order says MR 25.5 Feb 1 delivery, but no one seems to be able to provide any assurance, is what it is I guess. Assume LR will run an OCTA line when orders are solidified. Looking forward to delivery and hope dealership/LR keep us informed. ,
Please tell me you went with the burnt sienna interior. I was so disappointed I couldn't get that in the model with the carbon fiber seats. It crossed my mind more than once to give up those seats for the sienna interior.
Love your spec, Sir! Especially in one of the best, or the best even, color for the Defender which is Carpathian Grey! Can't wait to see it arrive! Congrats and God Bless!!!
@@Lucky8 i've tried twice now commenting on how you could save a lot of money opting for the regular Octa over the Edition One. it keeps getting deleted. why??? oh well, i tried. have fun with your $15,000 chopped carbon fiber trim, because that's exactly what it's costing you. ✌
I have no idea what you're talking about-messages are getting deleted. This the only one I see. The standard Octa doesn't come in Carpathian so that's an issue And just for the record, I love carbon fiber.
Hi i have a question, Does it mean if you pick Matte Protective Film instead of Gloss finish, they apply matte protective film on the gloss finish body ? Also the Matte protective film , is it permanent?
Made an appointment today, told me wait is 12+ months for 2026, no 2025 available. Getting base with burnt sienna interior with street tires, will swap for the offroad tires after
Congratulations Justin, just one question why didn't option the 20 inch rims? you are not planning to take the most powerful Defender ever off-roading?
Since Land Rover limits your top speed based on the tires you order, I’m going to change the wheels and tires anyway. Might as well get the most performance out of it.
Noticed there was no option for caliper color. Can you tell me or find out what the color is on the first edition calipers, please? Appears to be mustard yellow color but would love to know the oem color. So much luck and congratulations!! I too love the carpathian color. Would be interested what looks like if you're able to do a video with that color combo... exciting! Enjoy the ride !!!
@@Lucky8thanks for the reply! Was just interested as I see,. the first edition has the yellow/gold calipers. Would love to see the contrast as I have a V8 90 in carpathian gray with black calipers. Honestly, would go with the Octa but only comes in the 110 right now , apparently. Again, all the best and NO, you did not go overboard :) Great spec, and Who wouldn't love 600+ bhp?!?! ENJOY Will look forward for that video....,
I feel like this is a bot, but just for the sake of fun, I'll reply to this question. You didn’t miss anything. The video shows exactly that - I walked in, sat down with the salesman, and ordered the OCTA. It’s as simple as that.
@@Lucky8 your feeling is wrong. I went to the reveal in L.A., placed my order. There are only 1k released in North America. It was not as simple as walking into a dealership and ordering. I have friends that did not go to a reveal, they also attempted to place an order. They have all been told for a few months now that the OCTA is sold out for 2025.
I understand now. When you went to the reveal, you had a chance to pre-build a vehicle and then you should have received a follow-up email. After that, did you work with the dealership that arranged your invitation to place a deposit? Now I'm curious, Which dealership were you working with? On a good note I might know of a dealer with availability where you can put down a deposit if you’re interested.
@@Lucky8 yeah, I am in Las Vegas and I selected the dealer that I wanted to work with. They are telling me that all of their build slots are filled and can’t order anymore even if they wanted to. I was also told at the reveal that my build would lock end of July and deliveries were to happen October-November. We all know this is not happening and it’s rather disappointing.
I’m in complete agreement with you - that’s why I even said in the video that 110 miles an hour is more than enough. My point is, if you're going to spend a ridiculous amount of money on this car, wouldn't you want the one with the highest performance specs? We’re going to change the wheels and tires anyway, so why have it De- tuned from the factory?
Ordering wasn’t open until yesterday. The other video was just me checking my sanity to see if there was any interest in us chasing after this unicorn.
The G-Wagon is a fantastic machine, and the AMG package makes it way more fun on the road. I was going to leave my comment at that, but you had to add the “it's a real four-wheel-drive” jab. Sure, props for the front locker, but I don’t need to feel like I’m in an MMA fight with my passenger every time they move their arm due to its Spirit Airlines seating, or worry that I'm going to crush my exhaust if I go over an anthill. The Octa is going to outperform the G-Wagon in every on- and off-road aspect.
@@Lucky8unibody will never beat BOF for off-roading. The defender is a good off-roader but it’ll never compare to a solid axle BOF vehicle when it comes to offroading. It’ll definitely drive better on road though, but again that’s due to it being unibody construction. There’s a reason why in the harshest places on the planet you don’t see new defenders out there, it’s the old defenders and LC’s.
@@c1aytonbigsby in terms of out right capability off-road the new Defender with unibody and good clearance having the IFS/IRS and especially the Octa would arguably be the worlds most capable off roader on the planet out of the factory. I'm not saying its the most reliable, efficient or strongest built SUV. Yes a BOF with live diffs is stronger and more reliable and less complex, but for a stock factory unmodified car the OCTA will be up there as the most capable to tackle all terrains not to mention one of the worlds fastest SUV with a 0-60 time in 3.8secs.
I’m not putting down any of those vehicles - they’re all amazing and cool in their own ways. I’m pretty confident that, in stock form, the new Octa can outperform them in most off-road conditions.

The plastic seating sucks. Leather all the way. I’m already eating the cow, may as well use all of it.
Great video. I would have gone with the 20's. More air twixt car and Mother Earth when off-road.
Agreed... can fit bigger off-road tyres too... and presumably although top speed suffers, acceleration is better (which is more useful)
I will change the wheels to a 20
Congratulations!!!! I like the build. I can't wait to drive it. I'll drive up to the Lucky8 office to take it for a spin.

That is the way I understand they're all painted in gloss and then the protective wrap is matt. I do not know if it's permanent.
🎉 how exciting
Congrats! What are the extra off road capabilities of the Octa?
hank you! The Octa comes with more ground clearance, larger tires, and the 6D suspension.
By the way do you know what's engine model installed on OCTA? Is it S65?
Im sorry I don't

More than likely now. The front grill is completely different.

Carpathian is a great choice
The best !
What type of engine?
V8 TT 635hp
Flaps and 20" wheels
Don’t worry, it’ll get 20-inch wheels, but no mudflaps - those are the first things to get ripped off when you start using it aggressively off-road.
