I live in Argyle and I'm proud to be an Argyle Eagle because everyone here is so kind and supportive and the varsity home games are so much fun to go to, literally the whole town how to support the team😄🔴⚫️⚪️
Just looked at the Dixon late TD in regulation again. Both refs were looking right at the play from different angles and neither called it a fumble. They were both in position to make the right call.....but didn't. If I can see it on the replay, they should have seen it in real time because they were right there on top of the play. Why they didn't call a fumble and out of the end zone for a touchback is beyond me. The ball clearly was out of Dixon's hands well before he hit the ground.
And he was clearly already in the endzone. You do know that a touchdown is when the ball crosses the line and not when you fall down in the endzone. You're thinking rugby, this is football bro
I like how people talk about that Navasota didn't deserve to win the championship just because the refs failed to make those calls doesn't mean that its the teams fault it's the refs fault the players just played their hearts out and left it all on the field dickson is a friend of mine and he even told me that he didn't deserve the game tieing touchdown I went to navasota for a long time they are not a cheating team they deserve that championship because they played their hearts out
Lets see...Everyone wants to talk about the missed fumble at the 1... Lets talk about that coaching decision to pass on 3rd and 10 with under 2 minutes left in ya own territory with a 28-21 LEAD and a superstar RB who already had 45 carries...Ya basically run clock and punt in that situation...Why risk it getting picked off and having Navasota go 40 yards for the tie with a timeout.... Shouldn't have been in that situation to begin with...
Sounds like a game i played in high school star running back we played against chalaroi to make playoffs had 44 carries 189 yards fumbled with 28 seconds left we stripped the ball ran it back and won they felt so stzupid shoulda nealed it bro ha (mudd bow)l we used to say there going to break this kids legs lol well first week at pennstate he blew his knees out never played again bad coaching
Great game, but absolutely poor officiating resulted in a double overtime ending where Argyle lost when really the game should have ended in regulation except for a couple of poor calls that resulted in a TD by Navasota late that tied the game. I just hate to see a State Champion decided by the refs on obvious infractions. I wonder if they purposely or psychologically gave Navasota breaks.
That noncall cost Argyle a back-to-back State Championship and ended their winning streak at 31 straight games. Argyle had a chance to win it in double overtime, but Navasota prevailed. Can't blame Navasota....they played the game out to the end. Can't blame Argyle, they played even a better ballgame than Navasota, IMO. The onus of this game falls on the refs that failed to make the right calls on Navasota's last drive in regulation. First, a bobbled catch that hit the ground for a first down, then the fumble into the endzone that was not called either. Very suspicious for 2 noncalls late, esp. when Navasota offensive line was holding all night long. Lots of noncalls on holding also.....esp. since the Rattler qb needed the time to throw. Not what I would call a quality officiating crew for a championship game in front of the biggest audience viewing all season. I'm not even going talk about replays.....they really should not have been needed. I doubt if these noncalls would exist at the college level. It stinks.
I remember my school (C.E. King) playing Navasota during their regular season in 2001 and they kicked the crap out of those boys. I'm surprised that they even made it to state years later.
should have faked to 22 and QB run or passed,,, much better chance ,,,, and they should not have passed and got an interception,,, stupid call on both,,, ole USN vet

Clearly a fan of argyle.

As a gilmer buckeye fan when I heard that both of these great teams along with liberty hill had moved up I respectfully said..... good riddance 😅.
