Oh wow.... pressurizing pollutant. That's not going to be good when you update to the phase state change release. Okay so this is going to be important. Your outside temp at night is around -230k, when you pressurize pollutant at that temp (and with uninsulated tanks it will eventually reach that temperature), you're going to start seeing liquid pollutant around 2.6MPa of pressure. The tank will handle the liquid just fine. The pipes that CONNECT to the tank will not. They will explode. Not especially violently (probably) but upon explosion, the liquid pollutant will come rushing out of the broken pipe in what will be a very nifty fog effect and then evaporate back into the atmosphere. You're going to need to find a better long term solution. Storing as a liquid is one option. Storing as a solid is the much cooler solution.
I'm thinking the phase change stuff might also give some validity to making large underground storage vats from voxel so the phase change doesn't matter ;)
@@chriswoodend2036Positive 230 Kelvin is about negative 43 Celsius... There is no "negative kelvin", that's the whole point of using kelvin... It's exactly the same as Celsius but shifted 273.15 degrees colder so it starts at absolute zero and only goes up.
I don't have an idea if this would work, but could you carve out a cave in the side of the mountain to use for storage, or operational use with machines or green house? Is the ground considered air tight or thermally insular?
Yep the ground is airtight in this, it can bring its own challenges with mining out more area potentially opening everything up and reducing the overall pressure etc but I hope we do end up having at least a portion of our base underground
@@Splitsie I would imagine mining too much out would be easy to do judging by voxel mining in general. Is there a way to place ground back or does the drill/miner destroy it? And others make some new errors witch is fun to what (much more, than presise script :-D). Make good content, I am looking forward to next episode :-) .
You're wasting all your excess heat from your advanced furnace. When you could use the excess heat in a sterling generator and store the cooled gas, for free energy. It requires a tank of lighter gasses as a working gas. You can change multiple sterling generators. It will work more effectively when the cold is kept very cold and hot sides are kept very hot. Or if both sides are kept at opposite temperatures. Warning: If the working gas gets over 10kp. It will explode violently. It is very sensitive to internal pressure differences / changes to the working gasses..
Electrum challenging? It's super easy. Low minimal temperature and low pressure. Invar is hard. Hight temperature and narrow, high pressure range. And one superalloy, don't remember what's its name right now. Minimal pressure that almost blows furnace. Only 10 MPa margin. This is chellanging.

I'm sorry, -230 K???? Didn't know mars's night time atmosphere was made up of antimatter.
@@thespacementv1506 ... kelvin, -230 kelvin. Around -43c.
Can skulls be painted? Also did shadow forget to flush built up nitrogen from suit perhaps?
Sadly not, and yes I think so
it didnt explode it was an unscheduled rapid disassembly
Lot of progress done, and undone 😂
Skulls for the Skull Throne !
awesome episode👍
I don't have an idea if this would work, but could you carve out a cave in the side of the mountain to use for storage, or operational use with machines or green house? Is the ground considered air tight or thermally insular?
Yep the ground is airtight in this, it can bring its own challenges with mining out more area potentially opening everything up and reducing the overall pressure etc but I hope we do end up having at least a portion of our base underground
@@Splitsie I would imagine mining too much out would be easy to do judging by voxel mining in general. Is there a way to place ground back or does the drill/miner destroy it? Apologies for the ignorance, but I just discovered this game through you after checking out your space engineers series. I'm looking forward to see how this series runs since I'm quite enjoying it so far.
There's a way to put some back but I haven't used it in a long time so I'm not sure if it's changed or really remember how it works at all 😂
Can’t you put more filtering machines piped up to the same tank? Would be faster
We can, and will in the future, though I wouldn't want to use that much power just yet
The equipment Nev was building near the start and to be sponsored by Google 😂
*Seems to be*
...why?
@@thespacementv1506 take a look at the pressure gauge
It's so bizarrely similar to the G symbol that it makes me wonder how they picked the Google colours :D
I've been wondering why y'all haven't made a sickbay yet... At the very least it would be a place to store bodies until they decompose.
I'm not aware of anything useful that we have the means to build yet - since we can't even manage to make our regular eating spot stay breathable for long :P
Those hydroponic trait need water inserted on the side of them in order for it to work
They're already in there - I showed shadow how to do that in the previous video :)
Hi, I also want to try terraforming playstile, but it doent work for me. I substribe mod and install Stationeers.Addons, but when I load game, there is 0 plugins loaded and error in console :-(. Are you using older version?
Btw. nice series. It is grat, that more peaple can play. Shadow learn it really quickly. And others make some new errors witch is fun to what (much more, than presise script :-D). Make good content, I am looking forward to next episode :-)
.
And today we learn how to make a fuel Air bomb
Nev was just remembering from playing 2 or more years ago, not from looking up the actual figures :P
@@Splitsie Oh yes, plenty things has changed since then. For example I can't even load my old save on the Moon.
Why is there a video we cant see and it says updated 2 days ago but no video ?
Because I upload ahead of schedule these days so the videos are scheduled to be released :)
Merci pour l'aventure et a bientôt sur Smalland !
Edit: comment intended for another video
I'm not sure about Smalland, the reviews I've seen of it haven't really inspired me. Have you played much of it?
@Splitsie I played it a lot, it was really fun, I'm looking forward to play the new part that just came our.
But I made a mistake on this comment. I was viewing another video from my library (from a friend with who i played smalland), write the comment, and published it while your video just started 🤦♂️
YT's been doing that a bit lately, been noticing people's comments appearing on the episode after the one they were clearly intended
I would have done the opposite with the furnace ducting, putting in volatiles is a pain in the ass for me.
On today's episode of Martian Huffing will the crew finally get over their NOS huffing addiction, or will they succumb to the inevitable death loop of chaos?
quick question is this being streamed? or is it recorded videos only?
yes ;)
These are recorded sessions only, no streams.
Yup, just recorded. As a group that haven't played together much a recording session is a lot lower pressure and allows us to find a good rhythm since I can edit out any of the slow or awkward bits :)
With the new update where gasses can turn to liquid and solid a lot of crazy stuff is going to happen. Get ready.
Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to it :)
@Splitsie it's very difficult. In some ways they have made easy ways to cool on hot plants but in other ways liquids are still a little buggy. A few patches will fix that up in the following weeks.
can someone please give me a starter guide for this game? me and my friends wanna play it
No so much two steps forwards, one step back, rather two steps forward and one step back off a cliff.😀
lol :D
ah yes. It is not good Stationeers content without any accidental explosions.
Lol so true
beep boop
i wish i had gaming friend group liket this
I'm pretty lucky to have such great people to play with :)
I get the feeling you guys ran away from earth because of [insert problems here] and now you are finding out that YOU are the problem... 😂
lol :D
More please :)
More this weekend 🙂
@Splitsie amazing I have been checking every day since this one came out I will check on the weekend :) amazing stuff got myself back into stationeers :)
Can you tell us what line up of videos you have for the next few days?
If you check my schedule over on Twitch I put the videos in there too and it's handily in your local timezone: twitch.tv/splitsie/schedule :)
Kinda wish YT had a similar feature
You are telling Shadow you want moles in the soil she is planting crops in?
Gotta aerate the soil somehow 😂
Phase change just dropped, this is going to get... a lot more interesting.
It'll be a little while before you get to the recordings where we run into that (we're about 4 sessions ahead), but it should indeed be 'interesting' 😂
@@SplitsieI wonder who will have to figure out all the condensation and evaporation stuff...
i thought this series uploaded on Mondays?
It's been the same time each time, for me it's 2015 on every second Sunday :)
So how long before Blackshadow goes full on Khorne and starts offing everyone to gain skulls for the skull throne.
Funny how you all ignored Capac's comment at 9:01 about blowing up things when you talked about making tanks... And then the boom happens.
Well to be fair, Capac was referring to the kind of tanks with large cannons on them and lots of armour :P
@@Splitsie still, accidentally prophetic. 🤣
