Best "thing" that ever happened to inspire and stir the creative juices. Now in my 52d day of lockdown -- confined to my room in a facility for the elderly, nothing pumps me up more that these three programs. So grateful for the youngsters in Great Britain who created and foster the growth of Affinity products.
After 20-odd years of using Adobe products I just made the jump Affinity Photo and Designer. After watching your workflow in Publisher I just bought that too!
I follow the Affinity for many years, but first, it was only for Mac, then for 64 bit PC, and I'm happy to be able to afford it now for a great price. Thank you Affinity ♥
Thanks for your presentation Ash. I made the move to Designer early last year, and love it (and use it constantly). Have since purchased Photo and am about to complete the suite. With your presentation, I finally get the power of the 3 working together (as demonstrated in the Publisher section of this presentation, i.e live modification of elements in the layout program of external graphics/images). I had not been able to work out the value of this feature until actually seeing you present this in this video, so I appreciate it. As I live in Australia, where we've been so amazingly fortunate with the impact of the virus on our country, our hearts go out to all the people of the nations of the world. Stay safe and keep be creative!
Been at this since Pagemaker and Freehand 5, but your suite is hands down the best graphics software toolset ever, certainly for the price. Cross platform integration and workflow efficiencies are outstanding. The feature sets of all three programs are amazingly complete and highly intuitive. Moreover, your clear, concise support video demos only add to the luster of your products, showing a long term commitment to your customers. Kudos.
Ashley, I just want to say thank you for doing this. Thank you to all of your team, current and former, for providing us with powerful and accessible creative software. I no longer remember how I found out about the Affinity suite, but I'm glad I did. I've bought the three apps for both Windows and Mac. What you're doing now to support the creative community during these uncertain times makes me even more glad to be one of your customers and to be using your products.
Holy moly! I had no idea the Affinity suite had advanced to this level. For the past several years I was looking for an Adobe Illustrator alternative before every annual renewal. My searches always seemed to turn up that nobody was really approaching that level yet. But this is incredible! Especially for the fair pricing and licensing that Serif is providing. I will be finally cancelling my Adobe subscription and purchasing Affinity Photo and Designer to start with, with publisher in the near future. Thank you, Serif!
Thanks Ash, I've not had time to really appreciate the value of how the 3 apps and personas can work together. Glad I took the time to watch this. I feel it gives me an edge over my Adobe-bound rivals. Thanks for all Serif is doing for the community during this lockdown.
As a reasonably new user to the Affinity suit I had never fully appreciated the power of the layers panel and drop zones. Thank you Ash. This will save me so much time and effort. More tutorials like this Please!
OMG your software is flipping incredible!!! I'm blown away at the intuitive nature of the software! I'm sooo glad I purchased this after years of dreadful Adobe!!!
I'm so grateful to Serif for creating these Affinity products! I have the whole Affinity suite, and I love the fact that all of them are affordably priced. And the interface of each of these products is fairly easy to work with. Also, I have recently started creating tutorials of my own on UA-cam using the Affinity suite to create different things. So, thank you all again for these wonderful products, and I can't wait to see all of the things you all have to offer in the future!
I sat this one out yesterday thinking that an overview might be pitched below my needs as a newcomer to affinity but with some basic editing experience. what ive actually found is im learning quite a lot here. wicked stuff. thanks for your time Ash.
I've been using Affinity Designer for a year and a half, and even though this video is for beginners, I still learned a couple of new things in this video. I probably should have known them already, but somehow I missed them. Tutorials are great, but watching a video in a chill live stream style format is yet another way to learn and retain knowledge. Loving these live streams (even if in this case they're actually prerecorded).
This is perfect for college students. This is affordable, it updates and no lifetime holes in my pockets. This software is what should be recommended in classes.
Very good. Excellent initiative. I'm an enthusiast, I don't work with a designer, but I bought Affinity for the great price. Videos like these are inspirations and great learning. Thank you.
Excellent overview of the apps! I have all three on my desktop and Affinity Designer on my iPad and have both workbooks, but this video helped to see what else can be done especially the masking and stock images helped to solidify my understanding of how to use. I would love to see how to digital paint in this series of videos for the desktop no tutorials anywhere on this, however the pattern features are awesome. Thank you for taking out the time to make these videos and I love Affinity Spotlight as well! Stay safe and many blessing to you , your staff, as well as your families.
That was an awesome tutorial Ash Hewson. I learned so much and really appreciated your east-going non-tech style of delivering the tutorial. Affinity APPS were built for people like me-thank you.
I’m very new to graphic design of any kind. I need to learn a few things for work, when I found Affinity and the fantastic 90 day trial. I combined that with the 2 months of SkillShare and am hoping to learn enough to use it all. Unfortunately even beginner classes seem to assume you are coming over from Adobe or something, and skip over vital info. I love the way you simply explained things in this first video, Ash! You were more understandable than anyone I’ve watched so far.
Thank you! I swapped from other software to the Affinity suite and while there are something’s that I miss terribly (magic wand!) I am gradually finding other ways to do things and I love it so much! In particular, repeating surface pattern design is such a snap these days! Many thanks for this generous series which I will inhale every portion supplied!
Kate I too missed the wand tool - until I found it under the paint brush disguised as the Flood Select Tool. I think the icon could do with being brightened up a bit to make it more conspicuous.
Thank you for such a clear overview. I am looking forward to the other tutorials. I bought the three recently and am very impressed at the ability to switch between the apps.
I used QuarkXpress in newspaper production for many years. In retirement I bought the Affinity suite for freelance work and find it excellent. Time invested in learning its features and foibles is well rewarded. The value of the three products goes without saying.
Thank you for the answer, I can not answer under our conversation because the video was removed from YT (for technical reasons, of course). I am glad that you respond to your customers' questions :) even, when they are uncomfortable :) I have been watching Your marketing and I'm impressed so far as this is my specialty. A word of advice: in the future, try to do competitions with reference numbers instead of names or nicknames. This is a very good tool. I wish you all the best!
Thanks Ash. I've just moved to the Affinity Trio from Adobe. So far I've loved the experience. I'd say Affinity for my graphics and video business and Divi by Elegant Themes for my website design have been two of my best software purchases. Your company has the same vibe as Divi which is a open progressive view of business, so hopefully you'll experience the same success they have.
This was excellent, keep reinforcing the Workflow, it’s so new I’m like oh yeah, I can just do a quick round trip. My habit is still to wait to go IN & OUT, but that’s the OLD WAY!
Hey, look! The only dislike is from Adobe 🤣 I love the great understanding you have around the whole suite, Ash (well, it's kind of expected, right? Haha), and enjoy very, very much your tutorials. Owning the 3 MacOS apps and the 2 iPadOS apps, my two wishes are to have Publisher on iPadOS (which I believe sooner or later will happen), but more importantly, you guys releasing a sort of "full suite" called just "Affinity" or "Affinity Suite", which would just be some kind of revamped/repackaged Publisher + Studio Link with full fledged Photo/Designer personas (with the user having purchased every app as is needed today, of course), that remember which one you used last (Designer is my most used of the three), as a "one app to rule them all" (I know that this should be possible given how you guys intelligently share the backend and file format between apps with very high compatibility between them thanks to this, and are more than halfway there with Studio Link in Publisher). It would be sweet to have just one app footprint and one memory footprint with all the powerhouse that this creative triad has to offer. As an illustrator I love of the features, intuitiveness and ease of use these apps offer, and as a software engineer I'm impressed by the array of well thought foundations your company is under. I am by all means, a huge fan. Keep up the amazing work and I'm looking forward to all these creative sessions!
Nice overview Ash. Good to be reminded from time to time of all of the Affinity goodness! Thanks for creating this series, I'm looking forward to learning some new tricks! ;-)
Thanks so much for this Ash, whilst I’ve been using Photo for the last couple of years I’d not looked at Designer or Publisher before so it was really interesting to see how they all work together, definitely opened my eyes. Look forward to seeing the other videos. I hope the business keeps going from strength to strength despite the external challenges. Stay safe.
This was really helpful. I already had Affinity Photo, and wondered if I should get Designer and /or Publisher too. Now that I know the differences, plus how well they work together-I will definitely get them all. Thanks!
Wow! That was an incredible demo! I've been using Adobe CS4 and didn't want to upgrade to the monthly (rip-off scheme) subscription service. But after seeing this, I've just bought all three programs and will be switching over to Affinity! Thank you for opening my eyes to a better option than Adobe.
The Serif decision to create these apps from scratch focusing a modern architecture was a bold and clever decision. I’ve switch to Affinity a long time ago and it’s a point of no return. You can feel how the three apps interact uniquely and fluidly. If you’re still afraid to transitioning, my advice is: just go for it!
Affinity is a great suite of products. Definitely look forward to own them. One request is if you could bundle all the three ebooks with the complete suite free so that the learning curve is drastically reduced.
This was a really great session. I’m so looking forward to seeing the next 30 too. There is much to be learned about these bewilderingly powerful Affinity Apps.
Recently purchased Designer as a partner to Photo. Love them both! Interesting to see some of the possibilities with this software. Looking forward to this series.
I learned more in this tutorial than in any of them. THANKS! One thing, you have pictures on double pages. You need to prepare them for press, like we use to do in QuarkXpress. A tuto on that would be great.
Thanks for the videos so far, and in advance for the videos to come. I am currently using Affinity Photo for my photography edits and trialling Designer and Publisher because I can (my main interest is photography). Affinity photo is an impressive piece of kit for those more tricky edits and I am enjoying using it. Keep up the good work team Affinity. I may get Designer and Publisher as it is an opportunity to learn some new skills, I wouldn't be able to say that with Adobe😉
We're working on it - but still have quite a lot to do. Hopefully will be available in a beta form by the end of the year, but full launch not likely to be until 2021.
Important are the basic things like layers, cut, paste, copy, multiple paste, blur, bokeh editing. But also things like manage photo, quickly find again. And all those things that are sometimes very hidden.
Loved listening to to you I had craft artist 2 for a long time loved it and wish I could rebuy it has now died on me have been advised to get this program has it go the decoupage tool as that was the one tool I used quite regularly on CArtist 2 thank you

Thinking about you during this difficult time of confinement.
Be safe! lovely to know a community of enthusiastic users all around the world! greetings from Chile :)
Happy customer here, I wish you nothing but success Affinity/Serif Team! ❤
After 20-odd years of using Adobe products I just made the jump Affinity Photo and Designer. After watching your workflow in Publisher I just bought that too!
I was in the room when Affinity got its design award at WWDC15. I'm a user of Designer and Photo since that day. Keep up the great job
I follow the Affinity for many years, but first, it was only for Mac, then for 64 bit PC, and I'm happy to be able to afford it now for a great price. Thank you Affinity ♥
One thing is sure: I will use Affinity forever!
Affinity infinitly!

After half of the video I can say it gave more info than most non-serif tutorials on UA-cam. Great job. Happy to be full suite user.
Excellent presentation. I love the way the 3 programs work together! And I especially love your generosity during the virus.

This will be interesting. I am new to Affinity ecosystem. Can't wait. Stay home, learn more! :)

excellent Ash... I love what I see with Affinity suite - world-class product - finally, I can give those others the big flick

I need an animation tool from Affinity, to create mini animations (maximum 10 seconds). Is there a tool or is it planned to develop?
Look up this new app/program called "Cavalry". It's awesome! (and free)
@@TimoKanal Thank you very much!
Have used Serif software for years and years but really like and enjoy the Affinity range.
I'm sold.. Gotta buy this suite.
Enhorabuena a todo el equipo de Affinity y a los profesionales que han colaborado en esta iniciativa.
Love LOVE LOVE your teaching ... your awesome .... thank you
I used QuarkXpress in newspaper production for many years. In retirement I bought the Affinity suite for freelance work and find it excellent. Time invested in learning its features and foibles is well rewarded. The value of the three products goes without saying.

The more i learn how to use the affinity programs, the more i am amazed by it's quality!

Great video! I learned a lot from this. Kudos to the creators of this marvelous suite, and many thanks for making it affordable.
Tthat was awesome! I have to say am now 100% based on Affinity Software for my workflow and I don't even think about coming back to the other suite.
I finally found the best alternative to Adobe applications. Thank you for this convincing demonstration. give us more.
I love the series already just after watching this episode only. Thank you guys, well done!

Excellent!!! Very useful indeed. Thank you Affinity. Go forward!!
Thanks to you all for doing this. Great product, I use them now instead of you know who!
Thank you for doing this. Looking forward to learning lots of cool stuff and being inspired!
I always dreamt having this kind of workflow and now Affinity has done it, so very grateful
This was excellent, keep reinforcing the Workflow, it’s so new I’m like oh yeah, I can just do a quick round trip. My habit is still to wait to go IN & OUT, but that’s the OLD WAY!

Great demo, thanks Ash! Congrats on the whole Affinity concept and interoperability. Brilliant software design.
A lot of very helpful tips for begginers. Thank you very much for the video!

This tutorial blew my mind, Really awesome video thanks
Affinity is a great suite of products. Definitely look forward to own them. One request is if you could bundle all the three ebooks with the complete suite free so that the learning curve is drastically reduced.
Great job Ash. Nice the know you guys are local too, keep up the great work.
I'm an amateur but bought all 3 programs and both workbooks. Thanks for doing this, I hope to learn from these videos.
This was a really great session. I’m so looking forward to seeing the next 30 too. There is much to be learned about these bewilderingly powerful Affinity Apps.
That was awesome! I learnt so much. Thank you! Looking forward to the rest.
Awesome class! Extremely informative. I have been left super inspired!
Just got the affinity suite at this amazing sale price. What a steal. I love it!
Brilliant integration across the 3 apps. After years of Adobe subscriptions it's great to see an alternative - we will be switching over to Affinity.
Recently purchased Designer as a partner to Photo. Love them both! Interesting to see some of the possibilities with this software. Looking forward to this series.
Your suite is lifesaver at this time! ) Adobe is ********** old system! Affinity is pretty, new and perfect instrument for me.
Thanks for the overview. Very well explained and inspiring. I use all three Apps and i´m very happy and satisfied with them.
I learned more in this tutorial than in any of them. THANKS! One thing, you have pictures on double pages. You need to prepare them for press, like we use to do in QuarkXpress. A tuto on that would be great.
Superb - ADOBE KILLER SOFTWARE - super smart file format and a streamlined workflow - very impressive
Please continue to do these videos or just videos in general on UA-cam.
Thank you! Great software and videos!

That’s why I love Affinity.
Amazing products.....Love this company.
great demo Ash,love these programs, powerful, yet comprehensive tools, curious what you come up with next
Thanks Ronny
Excelente demostración de Ash Hewson you must make more videos
@Affinity Any particular reason to choose a hard-to-read font for thumbnail text?
it's amazing all the things Affinity has. Thank you so much for these tips and info.
And also Ash Hewson
Very good workshop. Thank you very much!
Have all of three "big" + two "small" products ! -)
When will Affinity Publisher be available for the iPad?
We're working on it - but still have quite a lot to do. Hopefully will be available in a beta form by the end of the year, but full launch not likely to be until 2021.
Absolutely amazing software! keep up the good work!
Wow! Excellent presentation!
Excellent "tutorial" I am really looking forward to the next ones, well done !
Excellent overview! Thank you!
Amazing Session! Thanks Ash! 😉
Thank you for this. I am adding Affinity Publisher to my workflow now. Added a like to counter the downvote haha -
Important are the basic things like layers, cut, paste, copy, multiple paste, blur, bokeh editing. But also things like manage photo, quickly find again. And all those things that are sometimes very hidden.
Loved listening to to you I had craft artist 2 for a long time loved it and wish I could rebuy it has now died on me have been advised to get this program has it go the decoupage tool as that was the one tool I used quite regularly on CArtist 2 thank you
Great products...could you consider highlighting the cursor when you select tool. Not always easy to see which one you are pointing at. Many thanks.
keep up the good work with the products and presentations.
Thank you Thank you thank You.
Excellent tutorials, superb disposition towards the common user. One suggestion, for those watching this on old screens, it would be greate if tutors used bigger pointers, so it's easier to follow the workflow.
Amazing suite apps ! Thanks for shared
Wow! What a great presentation! (What's best, too, is that Affinity do listen... unlike the big "X"!)
