I am putting this video in a folder for future reference. Very good information to know, without it things could go very wrong. Thank you for posting 🔓
The Butcher’s bLock The core will stay in on it's own but if you turn the key and remove it the actuator will remain in the overturned position. The Z bar overturns the actuator under the limiter ring and then you will need to use a screwdriver to turn it over again which can be tricky, it's not impossible but I thought I would add the warning in case people aren't familiar with these locks and have problems. I might do a video on it and how the key retaining feature works.
Keyless Entry Great idea. I’d love to see a video of how the key retaining feature works, because I’m having some issues with an 83/45 that I’m trying to rekey.
Keyless Entry this is what I did and the spring popped out... pain in the ass... you should also mention to be very careful of the little button on the core not getting stuck in the Bible if you rekey it
Rook Knight Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching. Glad I could be of some use to someone lol. I'm no expert but if you ever need anything just hit me up. Have a great day my friend👍😀✌️
I don't think so as Abus does make a special tool to remove the shackle, if you want to see the tool in the vid description there is a link to Rookie Lock demonstrating how it works and another link showing Paul Springett and a tool made out of a spoon lol.
Bro my abus 83 was my first real lock I picked.. some one gave me they didn’t have a key... I took it apart to rekey and the whole thing fell apart.. the shackle fell out when I had the core out and the spring for the core... fuckin everything.. first time taking apart a lock... I managed to get everything back in but I must have put the spring backwards cuz now it only opens counter clockwise lol I haven’t messed with it since cuz I figured counter clockwise is better than not working at all!
Sorry to hear about your lock, I've only been picking less than a year and mostly self taught through making many mistakes. I've always loved taking things apart to see how they work even as a young child, didn't always go down well with my parents lol. Sounds like your 83 didn't have a limiter plate that also holds the spring and actuator in place, also sounds like you have put the spring in backwards. I may do a video on one the same to show you how to put it back together in the correct orientation.
Awesome! Have to say I never knew that😀
Thank you for sharing this!!!
Will have to give it a try.!!!

Aj Clark Thanks for watching my friend👍😀✌️
WARNING! Do not try to remove the core whilst shackle is removed, I forgot to mention this fact during the video.
Keyless Entry why can’t you remove the core?

Keyless Entry ah cool man I had no idea what would happen. I was thinking the guts would come out with it. Cheers for the info mate

@@KeylessEntry I really appreciate that bro, hope your day goes too 👍
Quick question: about that Abus z bar, did Abus make it, to do that? or was that just a happy accident to be able to remove the shackle ?
I don't think so as Abus does make a special tool to remove the shackle, if you want to see the tool in the vid description there is a link to Rookie Lock demonstrating how it works and another link showing Paul Springett and a tool made out of a spoon lol.
@@KeylessEntry cool thank you, Ill check them out

Thanks for watching and have a great day my friend👍😀✌️
Very cool video, thanks for sharing. How exactly does that z bar stop the key from coming out?
SkeletonKey Thanks, I may do a video on how the key retaining feature works on various locks.
Have a great day my friend👍😀✌️
